| Syncing Windows 10 Calendar to iPhone Help Posted: 27 Jul 2020 10:37 PM PDT Hello, I'm trying to sync my events from my Windows 10 calendar app to my iPhone. I've managed to do the reverse (syncing the calendar on my phone to my computer) but can't get computer -> phone working. I've tried syncing over iCloud and iTunes, but iTunes doesn't even seem to find the calendar app at all. | How to reduce "Other" storage? Posted: 27 Jul 2020 10:12 AM PDT My "Other" storage has been exploding in the last month. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a 64GB SE1 running iOS 13.6. Every single day, my phone gives me a popup telling me I'm out of storage on my iPhone. When I check the iPhone Storage settings page, I see it's just under 64GB used, so I delete some apps, pictures, podcasts, and music to drop it down to 63GB. However I've noted the Other category has been ballooning. My other memory is currently at 33GB, while System is at 5.5GB. Screenshot here. That's 60% of my phone's memory I can't use. Also I've noticed that as it's calculating memory usage, the Other category will flicker between 33GB and 41GB before settling at 33GB, so hopefully the 33GB number is the accurate one. Another thing I've noticed is that the warning popup usually comes up at a time when I'm not using my phone so it must be some sort of background process downloading something. I've had to delete all 15GB of my music, a lot of my apps, and a ton of photos and still every day I struggle to use my phone to do anything. I don't have any apps bigger than ~500MB. I don't use iCloud and never will. I've tried clearing any caches that I can find in apps and tried syncing and backing up to my PC to see if that helps but it doesn't. I haven't found anything useful on Google besides learning that "Other" is a total of logs and caches. My search on this subreddit shows this has been happening more and more often to people in the last month too. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks. | How do I fixing my billing address? Posted: 27 Jul 2020 08:30 PM PDT Here's the thing, I had a debit card on my iPhone but I recently removed it and it guessing something happened with the billing address...I didn't change anything about it. It was the same as when I had my debit card but it doesn't accept it, it says "verification required, tap to continue and sign in to view billing address" I've sign in already I've edited the billing address so many times and I even tried my old house address to see if it would work and no. Once I'm done editing my billing address and signing in it gives me the "done" option and I click it go back to the App Store and try to download any app I want and it repeats all over. This is my guess: maybe since I was subscribe to somethings I need to wait for my subscription to expire? Maybe I need a new billing address(I don't think this could be it but it crossed my mind) I also heard about changing my billing address to a California address and it'll be okay but it doesn't make sense. So I tried to use the hearing app on the iPhone and it works great once in a while. Right now it says "Unavailable for current route"These aren't Apple's official earbuds, I don't think Apple actually makes earbuds, only the pods and these are designed to work under a helmet. I have tracking turned off for google maps and facebook so I can't piece it together through that. Is there any way I can go back farther through apple? | Posted: 27 Jul 2020 03:08 PM PDT Hi all! First time posting here and looking for any relevant experience with this issue or dealing with iPhone malfunctions. So a few days ago my iPhone's keyboard started being extremely laggy and would stop working randomly, or type random letters in. I couldn't exit out of the messages app and sometimes would have to restart the phone entirely to get the problem to stop. Last night, the phone just completely shut off. For the first hour or so after, if I held the power button down the Apple logo would pop up for a few seconds before going dark again. This morning I tried it again, but nothing, I tried to charge it undisturbed for an hour, nothing. I tried to force re-start it (volume up, volume down, hold power for 30 seconds) and the first two times I tried that the low battery image with the lightning plug image popped up, then black again. I tried force re-starting it while it wasn't plugged in, while it was plugged into the wall, plugged into my laptop, no iTunes app pulled up, and then with the iTunes app open. I even switched cables and USB ports, still nothing. I called Apple and the woman on the phone ran a few more force re-start attempts with me, and after about an hour said there was most likely a faulty hardware piece that was malfunctioning and causing the battery to fry. She was super nice and called around to local Best Buys to try to get me an appointment ASAP, and she got me one for tomorrow at 15:40. The woman from Best Buy took my information for the appointment and asked me what was wrong, told her everything, she also said it was probably a hardware malfunction. Now, surprisingly I got this iPhone XS around December 2018/January 2019 because I had this EXACT SAME issue with my old iPhone 8 and had to end up replacing it. Back then, the Sprint store I had taken it to said I should mail it to Apple and they'd either fix it or send me a replacement for free since it was a hardware malfunction and no fault of mine. However they said it would take about 2-3 weeks in the meantime and I was about to move, so I needed a phone ASAP and just ended up buying a new one. When I spoke to the woman from Best Buy, she said if I didn't have Apple Care it would most likely cost me a pretty penny to get this fixed, and even if I had Apple Care I'd most likely still have to pay. Is this because I'm going through Best Buy? I don't understand why I'm being told now I will have to pay when before I had this same problem and Apple offered to replace it? I asked the woman from Apple about the old issue I had and she said to take it to the Best Buy first to see if there was anything they could do about the problem, however I made a secondary appointment at an Apple store for next Monday just in case. Has their policy changed on hardware malfunctions? I'm honestly quite surprised, but I also don't deal very often with Apple concerning issues as this is the first one I've encountered since owning the phone. I still have the phone plugged into my laptop, and now it's started to have the low battery image come up for a second before the screen glitches and turns off again. | How can I fix a group iMessage when a phone number changes? Posted: 27 Jul 2020 02:31 PM PDT Hi! We have a group chat with 4 people (A, B, C, and D). Person D recently changed their phone number, and disconnected the old one from their Apple account. Because of this, it was converted to a group MMS with D's old phone number, meaning we can no longer use the group, since someone else has that number now. If I (A in this case) add B, C, & D to a new group chat (to try to send a new one to him to get everything working again), it just goes back to the original group chat, and will text the wrong number even if I remove that original number from D's contact. (In effect, iOS is saying "Oh! You already have a group with these 3! Here it is!"0) I also cannot remove and readd him from the group itself, as iOS now sees it as a group MMS. Is there any way I can fix this without deleting all of the messages in the group? We can all send him iMessages individually perfectly fine, so it's configured correctly with his new number. | What happens to Lost Mode if I remove iPhone from account? Posted: 27 Jul 2020 09:02 AM PDT My iPhone got stolen last week. I immediately marked it as lost using Find My Phone and changed all passwords (also went to the police and disabled the SIM card the next day). A couple of days later I get a notification with the whereabouts of my phone and decided to remotely erase it. However, the thing isn't immediate and it's saying erase pending. The next day or the day after, I start getting messages with activation codes and a link to a site that looks like iCloud. I realise it's a phishing attempt and don't provide any credentials. Besides that, I also get an iOS popup because someone must be trying to reset my iCloud password. This starts to freak me out a bit because the erase is not happening and I wonder how do they know my Apple ID and phone number (because of the messages and reset password prompt)?! Because of that I decided to remove the device from my account, which in hindsight it's something I guess I shouldn't have done... I'm just concerned with my data, I don't want it to be exposed. By removing it from my account have I disabled lost mode/activation lock and cancelled the erase procedure? Will they be able to get into it? [link] [comments]  |

It had started doing this about a week or so ago intermittently and now its unusable as its stuck in a crash/restart loop. Hard resets and a software update didn't fix it in the period before it got stuck in the current loop. Edit - I don't remember the iOS version it was on before I updated it, 13.1 or .2 maybe. I updated it to the current version, 13.6, shortly after this issue started. Am I screwed? I see no way to fix this other than to take it to an Apple store and see if they can deal with it. | Posted: 27 Jul 2020 11:20 AM PDT Hi guys, I recently had an issue with my phone. All of a sudden the storage was completely filled, creating a bunch of issues on my phone. I went through and deleted a bunch of apps, but it still seemed like so much storage was taken up. Today, me and my girlfriend were looking at our apps, because we have the same phone but she has more storage left than me and we were trying to figure out why, when I discovered a folder at the bottom called "other". On her phone, it uses 5 gb, but on my phone, it uses 19gb. Does anyone have any possible explanation as to why this is? Thank you [link] [comments]  |

I have an issue with my iPhone XS Max (IOS 13.5), as the title suggests I've been having a random reset issue that occurs whenever the phone is locked and screen is off. I can use the iPhone for hours and no reboots happen, but when I lock the phone and the screen is off, the reboot occurs. Upon reviewing data under the analytics section in settings. I can see over 15 logs of ResetCounter which according to my understanding happens whenever your phone hard resets. Specifically, the bug type within the log that is causing the reset is "115"; which is supposedly tied to memory? Anyhow, I'm currently trying to figure out a fix to this screen off rebooting issue and would really appreciate any input. In addition, I've had one "panic-full" log as well as multiple JetsamEvent logs. I can post those too but since there are so many logs of multiple things in the analytics section. I thought i'd start off here. The notifications on the app are on, however there isn't an option to turn them on or off in the notification center with all the apps on my phone.
