| Posted: 08 Jul 2020 11:24 PM PDT So, I understand that TVOS 14 is still in the deep beta phase & it will be riddled with problems. But, has anyone else noticed how bad Siri dictation has gotten? She used to be able me sleep mumbling... now I have to put emphasis on every word I say so she can understand me. Is anyone else having this problem? Unrelated, but, is anyone else's iOS/iPadOS AppleTV remote app not working right? Mine won't register touch... [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 08 Jul 2020 12:27 PM PDT Hey all! I have an Apple TV that will be used as the Home Hub for the house. It will be wired into a location that has more vertical space than horizontal. While I could surely use this as a "headless" device, I have a display that can rotate orientation to a "portrait" mode, wondered if it was possible to have the Apple TV to change the orientation to portrait mode as well (that way I could keep the display connected). | Posted: 08 Jul 2020 06:13 PM PDT I have a Sony A8G TV and the native Netflix app shows Top 10 shows and movies in the US. However, I prefer using the Apple TV 4K Netflix app because the subtitles are not as bright as the native tv app (which stresses my eyes at night). I wonder if Apple TV will update and show this list in the near future was it is usually what I end up watching instead of browsing for what seems an eternity through the list of movies. | Posted: 08 Jul 2020 03:24 PM PDT I know I can say "Search YouTube for ...." and it works, but there's some apps that don't work like that. For example, I used to be able to click into an app (say spotify), go to the search, and while in that field could say something "Queen - Don't stop me now" and it would search it. Now if I do that, instead of searching, it just goes searches within siri (meaning it no longer types it in the search field like it used to). What did I break to enable this? [link] [comments]  |
| HDR not working properly on Apple TV 4K Posted: 08 Jul 2020 11:39 AM PDT Hello, So I just realized that the Disney+ and Netflix apps on my Apple TV 4K are not working properly. Every other app displays hdr fine but these two are a little weird. I messed with the settings and i believe that the gamma settings for these two apps are off. I realized this when I compared my iPhone 11 Pro playing the same movie on Disney+ to my Samsung 4K HDR tv. When I changed the gamma settings to the max, it then matched what the iPhone was showing, which is the true hdr and what it should look like. But, for other apps like native Apple TV playing a 4K movie like interstellar, the gamma set at 0 is exactly what the picture that my iPhone 11 Pro displays. I even tried one of amazon prime's 4K tv shows and again the image was fine without messing with any of the gamma settings. D Does anyone know why this is? Thanks [link] [comments]  |
