    I mean do you use it knowing that it delays notifications unlike the official Gmail app? If so, why?

    I absolutely agree that the Mail app the better UX, better navigation etc. But what turns me off is its inability to provide the real time notifications. I know its Google which has "restricted" the real time notifications to only official Gmail apps and Android.

    I have been slowly going bonkers typing on my phone. I don't know if the keys are too small or what, but I more often than not hit the wrong letter. And often. Or I hit a letter instead of the space bar (V key in particular). I will get to the point I have to slow way down and very deliberately tap to get the correct and accurate letters.

    I would take 100% of the blame, but past ios keyboards weren't this bad. There is a sense of no accuracy and I really can't put my finger on it (pardon the pun). Maybe there is too much space between the keys? Some refraction on the screen? maybe some static makes a different key type before my finger hits the key i intend?

    Then there is tapping a misspelled word to prompt a correction. Sometimes it works and sometimes it pops up the menu where you have to hit replace and then choose. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why sometime sit works and sometimes not. And sometimes the choices offered are ridiculous.

    Typing and chatting on my phone has been super frustrating since the pandemic since i now do it far more often.

    I am thinking about jumping the gun and installing beta in hopes something has changed for the better. Any thoughts?

    What is the best iOS adblocker?

    I used Purify briefly when adblockers were first available on iOS. It ran into compatibility problems and to think they stopped supporting the app a while ago. What is considered the best adblocker these days? I am looking for something light with low battery drain that won't impact Safari performance. I have heard that 1Blocker and AdGuard are good?

    Does an iOS device adopt the iCloud backup it was restored from or does it create a new iCloud backup?

    Hello there!

    I've tried some Google & Reddit searching on this question, but couldn't really find anything. Basically, if you setup a brand new iOS device and restore it from an iCloud backup, then that device does its initial iCloud backup, does it adopt the backup that it was restored from? Or does it create a whole new backup?

    Keychain doesn't save the passwords it suggests? How is this possible?

    I made a new reddit account through safari on my phone, using the "strong password" it generated for me. but when i went to find that password to log into my computer it's not anywhere in keychain. and i can't change the password on that account without knowing the old one. How hard is it for it to remember the passwords it suggests to you. Even if it doesn't save it put a "recent passwords" option like bitwarden has so you can manually fix it

    Best IOS call recorder with auto record?

    Hi, I just changed from Android to IOS and is currently looking for an app which is like ACR on Android (Automatic Call Recorder). What I loved about that app, is the auto record feature. It just record every single call I have, without me having to do anything. Is there an app like that for IOS? I just find apps that i manually have to activate the record features etc.

    Best VPN for iOS?

    I've never used one before, but after doing some research on what a VPN is, I am most certainly going to start.

    Can anyone recommend a good one to use on the App Store? I've looked and there are just way too many to sift through.

    How does iOS handle multiple DNS resolvers?

    I'm familiar with how various Unixes handle multiple DNS entries, I'm wondering how iOS behaves when it has more than one DNS entry? A typical Unix will always query the primary DNS address, and only roll to the secondary if there is no response in a period of time. Does iOS behave the same way?

    Itunes alternative for music management

    So for maybe a year now itunes has been swapping out the album artwork of any music I am trying to sync on my phone. Downloaded a trial of AnyTrans but it won't let me transfer any data without buying the full version. Curious if there is a good go to?

    App better than Files for network drives?

    Hi guys,

    I have connected to a network drive for work through the Files app, and while it is OK for basic browsing, it is rather cumbersome, does not even let you "bookmark" specific folders for easier viewing later. Anyone have any better suggestions for this?

    Looking for insight on how to harden a device against it's worst enemy - Senior Citizen users. Is MDM the option? Are there apps? More discussion inside.

    My mother has recently found a way to install a profile on her phone from some spam site I'm sure she was sent to.

    She is pretty good about phishing attempts, but, relatively naive about everything else.

    Is signing her / my dad / myself up for a MDM provider the answer? Or are there iOS apps and settings that can help me control this?

    I'm thinking about web filtering (almost like uBlock orgin for iOS, or something that identifies phishing websites better than Safari). Blocking profiles, hardening spam filters. Etc.

    I'm open to anything really. Admittedly, I haven't done too much research, but some light googling has told me MDM is the answer. I wanted to see what some iOS experts have considered in the past?

    Is there an app (or shortcut) that allows you to set a tone when your device is moved?

    I've set up my old iPad Pro on the back of my front door for use as the smart home's hub/controller but had an idea... When the iPad's accelerometer detects motion (i.e. the door being opened) I'd like it to play a tone to remind us to take our corona-masks when leaving the house! Ideally I'd like Siri to literally tell me to take it but even some kind of tone would work as a reminder.
