Which one is the stock keyboard on iOS 13.5? (Grey or Black) Posted: 05 Jul 2020 01:06 AM PDT |
Posted: 05 Jul 2020 06:49 PM PDT Like the title says: I got my iPhone 5s screen repaired. Before this, the screen was just cracked but no issue with LCD digitizer. After I got it repaired, the screen started acting funky. Half of it will turn black, or invert colors, or start running into other colors, or will start going darker until it's completely dark. Each time I have to restart the phone to get it to go back to normal till the next time. But now a few months later it's becoming more frequent. I never dropped it since it's repaired and there are no fracks on the screen and no damage to the frame. I called the repair shop to explain and before I even could come in, they're already blaming me saying I must have dropped it and it was such a forceful drop that it made a crack on the inside but not outside. I told them flat out that sounds like bs, but they claim it's possible because "iPhone glass repair screens are very strong and if there was something wrong with the screen they put on it would have been from day 1". I then ask why they gave a 6 months warranty on the screen and they couldn't answer. They then said I have to come in and they will see if there's a crack first inside. I am reticent to come in in case they will purposely crack the inside to blame me because I told them I'll just do a credit card dispute since they've already blamed me without seeing it? Is what they are saying true or are they bull shitting me? Got my iPhone screen repaired. Since then, LCD is acting weird. Phone hasn't been dropped and no cracks on outside. Store is claiming without even seeing it that i dropped it and somehow cracked the inside and not outside. Is this bs? [link] [comments] |
Steps to take due to potential liquid damage Posted: 05 Jul 2020 05:35 PM PDT A few minutes ago, somebody accidentally spilled a small amount of wine on my closed 2015 MacBook Pro 13". It appears that most of the wine spilled onto the table, but some did get on the computer. I noticed some liquid inside the plastic case that I have on my Mac. So far, I have powered it down, removed and cleaned the plastic case, and set it closed and upside down on a table. My question at this point is what can I do to either find out if any liquid got inside the computer, or prevent that from happening? I did not see any signs that liquid got near any seams in the unibody, but I'd like to be extra safe. [link] [comments] |
Keychain Items Not Syncing Between Devices (iPhone to Mac) Posted: 05 Jul 2020 06:05 PM PDT Issue: I restarted my Mac, and the passwords in my Keychain are missing. They are still present on my iPhone. How do I bring one to the other? Detail: So on the Mac, I went to Settings->iCloud and made sure Keychain was checked. I unchecked/checked it, approved the request from my iPhone, and it still won't sync over. I can't for the life of my determine why iCloud won't sync my keychain items between devices anymore. Files, photos, everything else syncs properly, but my passwords never sync over. Keychain is missing them all. I reset my root password in the terminal which is why I think this issue started. iPhone SE Continuously Running Music App in Background, Even After Deleting Posted: 05 Jul 2020 09:38 PM PDT I am really at a loss here... iPhone SE running the latest version of iOS 13. After noticing that the phone was getting incredibly hot and the battery was draining, noticed that the default Music app was running in the background constantly. It is never used, it has about 6 songs in it purchased from iTunes, and doesn't have an Apple Music subscription. Restarted the phone, turned off background app refresh, turned off apple music.... still did it. Decided to just offload the app, it is still doing it. This is a picture of the battery screen. I really don't know what to do. The phone is getting hot and the battery drains incredibly quick when off the charger. [link] [comments] |
How do I transfer specific data like iMessage threads from iPhone to non Mac computer? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 09:21 PM PDT I want to transfer data (iMessage threads, photos, voice recordings, notes) from an iPhone onto a non Mac computer. I don't have iCloud and I haven't done a data transfer from phone to computer in over a decade. How can I get all of the specific things I mentioned into the computer (iMessage threads, photos, voice recordings, notes)? [link] [comments] |

Will it really take 3-4 weeks for my iPad Pro to arrive? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 09:12 PM PDT I put in an order a couple days ago and the thing said it would be a 3-4 week delivery period. That seems crazy. And no option to expedite shipping. Any chance it could arrive sooner? [link] [comments] |
Wanting to sell old broken laptops HELP! Posted: 05 Jul 2020 08:14 PM PDT So I have two old MacBooks I've been wanting to sell, a 2015 MacBook Air and a 2017 MacBook Pro (one with LCD damage and one with liquid damage, and it was just too expensive to pay for the repair so I just bought a new one) I needed some extra cash so I was hoping to turn to eBay/Craigslist. The thing is, since the laptops are fried, I have no idea of knowing if my info is wiped because what if they fix it? Can they see my info like passwords and precious text messages/photos/files/etc once the screen works again for the one w lcd damage? Edit: might sell to an electronic repair shop but still worried they might get my info once they repair it themselves [link] [comments] |
Problems importing from iphone to mac photos Posted: 05 Jul 2020 08:13 PM PDT Hey everyone, So I am having a major issue importing photos from my iPhone X to my MacBook pro. I have about 3000 photos that needs to be imported. About 1300 got imported and i have another 1500-1700 that needs to be imported. Everytime i go to import all new photos, it'll show the bar as if it was importing, but in reality it is not. I am still able to select pictures that i want to import even though it should be importing, so selecting pictures should not be happening if i was already selected to import. Addtionally in the photos app on my mac, if i try to delete any photos it'll show it'll be deleting, but it does not in reality. in both scenarios no matter how long i wait nothing happens. I do not know what to do and would love to get help because my iPhone storage is full and as you know it starts acting up horribly. So anything would help, please and thank you! [link] [comments] |
To buy or not to buy? IPad pro (the last model) Posted: 05 Jul 2020 04:21 PM PDT Hi!! I'm unsure if I should buy the Ipad pro right now because I've seen some videoreviews that say that the next Ipad will be much more powerful and this one will not stand comparison. They said it hasn't much differences with the 2018 Ipad and that it isn't much of an upgrade. Is this true?? Should I wait for the next one or buy this one? (I'm interested in it because of its versatility since it can become a computer, it's light, I'm a student, you can draw on it and so on...) [link] [comments] |

Posted: 05 Jul 2020 07:26 PM PDT The title is a fraction of the story! Let me explain. My macbook was in a backpack with a padded slot for laptops with clothes in the backpack as I was on a trip. My backpack fell from a coffee table with everything in it and after that my MBP didn't "turn on" anymore. So I took it to the apple store, they did what they do best for things out of warranty and said it's gana cost 600-900 to change the motherboard without even opening it or trying to connect it to diagnose the problem besides pressing the power button... So i took it to a repair shop near me and they said if it's the motherboard it's gana be 280 but they will charge 65 dollars for a diagnoses first which then will go toward the repair if any is needed as it might just be something simple like a loose cable but they couldn't look at it until Tuesday. So I brought it home and plugged it in (forgot to mention when plugged in, the led on the MagSafe turns on orange so it is charging) and pressed the power button and heard the boot up chime (it hasn't been updated in ages so it still has that!) but no signs of life as if it just immediately shuts off after the chime. So I opened up the macbook, cleaned up some of the dust, tried pushing some of the cables in tried clearing PRAM And SMC and nothing but the chime and instant shut off as now i could see the fan spinning for a second and then turning off BUTT finally the gods heard my prayers even though im an atheist!!! Before I opened it up, i never knew if it actually was off or not cus i wasn't seeing any sign if life but now that it was open and i could see the fan, it was a different story! If i hold the power button for a few seconds, it turns on and stays on and then I suddenly saw the logo led on and the caps lock led onand the display backlight turning on but no image so I connected to a monitor aaaannnd... IT WORKED. but now i was in "reset password" screen so i shut it off and went to safemode which worked but I can't boot into the actual OS as it just stopped half way loading. And also the performance is hot garbage. It's like im at 20 fps with everything taking 20 times ad long to do. Like actually taking a long time not exaggerating as if the cpu is from 200 years ago. Now I'm asking for 2 things: 1) if anyone knows a fix from here or what the problem could be? 2) how to get my files from safe mode so i can reset the macbook and go from there for repairs or selling it cus i think safemode doesn't recognize external drives! My abusive mother wants to “borrow” my iPad. How do I Parent proof it? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 06:52 PM PDT Okay, for some background, I'm 19 years old and my mom is very abusive. She has done numerous things to harm me and I can not trust her. She has no boundaries and I have no way to escape for financial reasons because I am in college. She has asked to "borrow" my iPad. I need to parent proof it. I've completed a factory reset so she doesn't have access to any accounts. All passwords are wiped. How do I make sure she 1-doesn't install some weird ass tracking shit on there 2-I can still have find my iPad on so if she decides to conveniently "forget", I can find it, but she can't track me. 3-doesn't destroy it with viruses and shit 4-how do I make sure I can prove the IPAD belongs to me should I need to bring the police into this? I do not trust her as far as I can throw her and I can't even fucking lift her. What damage can she do with my iPad? My appleID isn't on there, nor is any banking info. However, she is angry because I refuse to stay with her for my own safety. I'm living with my grandfather because that's the only person I feel safe with. [link] [comments] |
Funky Macbook Issues A1502 Battery Charges Kinda Screen OS Won't Boot Posted: 05 Jul 2020 06:30 PM PDT I recently acquired a late 2013 a1502 8gb memory with 256 GB storage, it doesn't work currently though. When I got it it wouldn't boot but with the MagSafe in the light would turn green and amber. I popped the bad boy open and saw it was disgusting inside, I figured that maybe it has some issues from all the debris inside so I cleaned it out after disconnecting the battery. After an initial light surface cleaning without any disassembly, I checked to see if anything changed and it no longer charged like it did hours before. Figuring I'm in this deep already I might as well continue cleaning it. After a partial disassembly (left the battery and keyboard inside) and cleaning, I reassembled it all together making sure everything goes back together properly (nothing torn or damaged, I think). Nothing changed it didn't boot or charge. I thought since one of the battery packs was loose that the previous owner thought to replace the battery but was dissuaded by the possibility of failure, so since I have another one of these a1502 computers I MacGyvered in that one's battery into the non-working computer, no luck, it didn't fix anything. I continued to toy with it (broken is broken) I held the laptop on its side with the MagSafe port up while walking around with it, the same way it was held when I brought it home from work in my backpack, and it started charging green then amber, and the screen turns on showing a small crack in the bottom right corner and more importantly a low battery screen, but it shortly turned off after that. I took out the charger and put it back in it didn't charge again, I did the upright thing again it started charging but the screen didn't turn on. I replicated this a dozen times it always starts charging again but the screen doesn't turn back on. I know this is strange but does anyone have any advice on how to fix this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jul 2020 06:00 PM PDT So I've decided to sell my broken iPhone 7 for parts. I broke it two years ago. The last time I've ever charged it was last year I believe. The LCD and screen is broken, so it's unusable and I'm unable to unlock my phone. However, it still works internally. Before selling it I wanted to reset my phone via iTunes, but it wouldn't connect. It buzzed three times whenever I tried to connect it to my PC. Any ideas on what I should do? It charges normally when it charges via outlet. [link] [comments] |
Trackpad Issue on MacBook Pro 15" (2016) A1707 Posted: 05 Jul 2020 05:55 PM PDT I was cleaning the space around my keyboard with a piece of paper, when suddenly the haptic feedback ( ForceTouch ) stop working. The trackpad's responsiveness is just fine its only about the feel. In my head i'm guessing there's a cable of some sort that I may have moved or disconnected while doing this. I skip anything software related and disassemble the Trackpad ( not the best thought process lol) but anyway its only metal to metal and nothing can be moved out of place as to what I observed. I reassemble and everything is the same still no ForceTouch. I reset the PRAM and toggle some options off and on in Trackpad preferences with no change. Is this a known issue ? Did I damage it during cleaning ? [link] [comments] |
Thunderbolt devices stop working on Macbook Pro Posted: 05 Jul 2020 05:46 PM PDT I have a monitor, keyboard and mouse connected to my Macbook Pro through a thunderbolt device. After a few minutes, the keyboard and mouse suddenly stop working, and I have to restart my Macbook for it to work again, and stops working again after a few minutes. Is it a problem from the device? The Macbook? The mouse/keyboard? The screen stays on, but if I unplug the thunderbolt device, and try to plug it back in, it doesn't work anymore. Also, my macbook is new (1 month) and I feel like I shouldn't be running into problems with the hardware this early [link] [comments] |
Can’t transfer files onto my Airport anymore. Any one else have this problem? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 05:24 PM PDT For some reason I can't transfer any files onto my airport from my MacBook. It happened out of nowhere. There was no recent updates or anything. I've had a another external hard drive hooked up to it and I can still transfer files to there but not to my airport. Anyone else have a similar problem? [link] [comments] |

Finding photos downloaded from iCloud Posted: 05 Jul 2020 04:56 PM PDT I just reset my MacBook Pro after buying it out from my school and I can't find the pictures that I had saved in my photos app. They were linked to my iCloud and when I first opened the app it said there were 276 downloading but now after the download is "complete" it's only showing the ones that are on my phone as well. I looked in the Master's folder but not all of them were there. Is there somewhere else I should look? Where did the photos that were being downloaded go? Thank you in advance! [link] [comments] |
