| Macbook air screen turns white when bending <45°. Posted: 28 Jul 2020 08:14 PM PDT Basically as the title says, when I close my Macbook more than halfway, the screen flashes and then turns white. If I open the screen back up, the display returns. At first it was just happening at a 'sweet spot', just one angle where it would turn white, but obviously the range has grown. I'm not too bothered by this alone, but I'm really worried it's going to get worse to the point where it's totally white no matter what angle it's at. Does anybody know what could be causing this? | “Your mac is preparing to update the software on this iPad” Posted: 28 Jul 2020 05:49 PM PDT I'm trying to update the iOS on my iPad, I haven't used it in a few years and it's version 8.1 on the iPad. My Mac just says "Your Mac is preparing to update the software on this iPad." My Mac hasn't given me an update or change in about 30 minutes so I'm not sure if it's stuck where it is or what. My iPad Air has 12gb on it with a bit over 11 available and the update says it's just 1.5gb but I don't have the option in general to update it on the iPad itself. I can't select the "Download and Install" option, it's faded out on the iPad. Any advice is very much appreciated to get this iPad up to speed. Thank you [link] [comments]  |
| HDMI cable stopped working iPhone but works for my wifes Posted: 28 Jul 2020 07:51 PM PDT It worked for mine, I hit the screen mirroring button and it disconnected and I can't get it back. I can still get it to work through YouTube with the YouTube screen mirroring button. My screen mirroring button in control center doesn't detect it though. Still connects on my wife's phone. | iTunes deleting a song when another is downloaded? Posted: 28 Jul 2020 04:34 PM PDT I went on a downloading spree and downloaded a few songs from two different albums. When I went to play the songs on my iMac, the albums had downloaded, but the artwork for both of the albums was missing. However, that's the least of my concerns. I went on my iPhone and realised that one of the songs in one of the albums is missing, (for reference the song is called: "Come on baby") so I went and re-downloaded it. It told me that I already own the song and can just download it so I did. And when I did that and checked the album on the music app, I then realised that another song (Called: "Highway") was missing. So, I did it again and re-downloaded "Highway". Again, I went to check and "Come on baby" was missing again. I did the same, but this time watched it downloading, and realised that when one of the songs is finished downloading, the other deletes, and vice-versa. It's just an endless loop and I can't get both of the songs to stay on my phone at the same time! Does anybody have an explanation/solution for this? [link] [comments]  |

I plan to use it only on wifi. My question for you all is this: since the device is unlocked, can I successfully "activate" the device without a sim card or service? I read that there is a way to do this with iTunes if the phone is unlocked -- is this a legitimate method? I think it's because I'm trying to go from an HDMI port on my USB-C hub to a DVI port on the monitor . Has anyone gotten a setup like this to work? Hello, I have a MacBook Pro 16" 2019. And I'm having a fun time trying to get Netflix to play on a 2nd monitor without going black. The audio and even subtitles keep going, but the video goes black. See above screenshot. I believe it's due to my current setup. I'm coming from a decade old Windows desktop which had three old 24" monitors. One of which is huge (bezel and depth wise) from 2005 or so and emits a good amount of heat. That one I'm going to repurpose elsewhere. The other two are a little more modern (2012 lol) and run much cooler, so I'm hanging onto them. Thus my current set up is my MBP front and center, flanked on the sides by the 2012-era monitors. This is perfectly fine for what I need to do -- except when it comes to that Netflix issue. To connect the monitors, I have a pair of USB-C to HDMI adapter/hubs. One I bought a few years ago that has one HDMI port. The other I bought soon after my MBP which features two HDMI ports using up two of my four USB ports as a result. These 2012 monitors only have DisplayPort and DVI-D ports, so I have HDMI-to-DVI adapters at the end of my HDMI cables to make the connection. Something like these. The hubs work great as far as extending my workspace along with the other benefits (SD reader, USB-A ports, pass-through charging etc.), but try to play Netflix on Safari (for that sweet 1080P) on any screen including the 16" main, and the video goes black. If I hook up the old-old (2005) monitor which has a true HDMI input, everything works fine and Netflix seems happy. Presumably the HDCP is broken when converting the signal for the DVI ports, Netflix thinks I'm trying to pirate their content, so it blacks out the video. To be clear, if I don't plug any external monitors in at all, then Netflix works as expected on the 16" screen. I guess after all this explanation, what I'm asking is -- has anyone had success with a set up like mine involving HDMI-to-DVI adapters and HDCP-controlled content like Netflix? Maybe I just need different adapters? Or do I really need to replace my monitors for ones with actual HDMI ports? They honestly aren't that bad even after almost a decade, and it'd be a shame to part with them. Thanks for reading! [link] [comments]  |

I'm typing this post on a 2015 MacBook pro because it was faster to go find my laptop than wait for the iMac to start up. Is this normal? I keep reading it's because there isn't a SSD, but I feel like there's got to be something bigger wrong. Should I call Apple? Or did I just make a horrible purchase? [link] [comments]  |

When you open the app the image won't focus and you can hear a clicking slight grinding noise I guess you can call it. One is complete as of yesterday. I had high hopes for my apps until yesterday. I'm in the United States and I've never been a member of the developer program. I own 3 Macs, an iPad Pro, and am about to buy an iPhone. I contacted support via phone and email. Via phone, they said they would call me back. This is their response via email. I see you're experiencing two error messages when attempting to enroll through the Apple Developer app and website. TL;DR I'm tripping because like what information do they have on me where I'm not allowed a developer account? I've bad-mouthed apple on twitter before and I have a criminal (drug-related) record. I think it's strange that Apple, the champion of privacy, has third party information on me that automatically excludes me from the developer program. They're not updating regularly, and my iPhone is on wifi and plugged in every night. Having updates for apps that were released almost a month ago makes me hate iOS. [link] [comments]  |

Removed it and gave it power and it won't spin. Planning on throwing an SSD in it, but not sure how to go about getting an operating system installed! I've read I should stick to Leopard since it only has a single gig of ram. Is there any way to get a copy of it onto a flash drive or an SSD without buying an install disc?? Thanks!
