    Rest finger or press button?

    Hi so I have the rest finger to open feature disabled on my iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 12.4.8. But whenever I rest finger it opens up to the home screen instead of staying to the lock screen. How do I fix this? I tried retoggling it.

    I just got windows on my 2015 macbook air and I’m trying to go back to macOS Catalina but it keeps giving me this error message. does anyone know how to fix it?

    just updated to 13.5 from 11, did they take out copying images and text or am i missing a gesture?

    the old tap-and-hold gesture no longer allows me to select text or bring up a popup menu for images to copy them to the clipboard. every article online about the"cool new copy and paste features" seems to only have screenshots of the notes app.

    USB-C enclosure not detected without USB-A adaptor

    Hi I'm using a 2018 MBP.

    Recently I upgraded my usb3 enclosure for my SSD to a USB-C but my laptop can't detect it. When I use a USB-C to USB-A cable connected to a USB-A to USB-C converter (Original Apple), it can be detected.

    When I use direct usb-C cable it can't be detected.

    I tried another brand, it is the same. If it helps, the SSD is formatted to NTFS and my laptop uses paragon software to read it.

    Stuck while factory resetting and upgrading my iPhone X.

    I was factory resetting my iPhone due to some lagging issues plus when i tried to update it kept on failing. I used iTunes to reset it and now I am stuck at the part where it says to swipe up to upgrade and when I swipe up, after few minutes of buffering it goes back to the same place where it asks to swipe up again. Any idea how to fix this?

    Is there a way to force Microsoft Todo on MacOS to light appearance?

    I love using Dark mode in any other app, but in Microsoft To Do (from the App Store) it just very uncomfy for me.

    In settings I didn't find any on/off switch, so maybe by changing something in its text files?

    IPad international model? What do I do now?

    Hey guys, because of my extreme urges to buy an iPad Pro for a recent desire to start learning how to draw in mid quarantine, I recently bought an IPad off of eBay, this IPad Pro is 12.9 and from the only pictures I could see only its models and some other info people usually just put,, eg. Storage capaticy etc etc.. But what interested me the most it was the model...

    It shows ML2K2KH/A, to my surprise and I know I should have done this way before I placed a bid in it.. All the results comes up in Korean.. And no single English post nor a review nor an article not even an official apple website mentioning this specific model... The model Is a 128gb Cell + WiFi...

    Did I messed up big time now? Did I lose my money? I just only want it for drawing purposes nothing more.

    So my phone just randomly shuts off at random times and then the apple support Link pops up on it. I looked online and it said to reboot it you have to press and release the volume up button then press and release the volume down button.

    And then you have to press and hold the power button. I did that and the apple logo popped up and then the screen went black again and the apple support link comes up

    Transfering Music Library To External Harddrive

    I bought myself an external harddrive cuz my macbook was screaming for help due to almost reaching its hard drive space...so i copied all of my music to this hard drive, and now i want itunes to pull from there so i can delete the originals from the internal, but i cant sit here and individually locate every song once i delete it from the OG, is there another way to direct itunes to the external and still keep my playlists etc?

    Can I manage my children's usage, parental controls, Screen Time, etc if I don't have an Apple device?

    Recently I posted here that I was going to give my 7th gen iPad to my son to use because I don't use it much. The responses were very helpful and I completed the hand-off to my son. This was my only Apple device for myself. Today I set up the device for him and was trying to download a few new apps but it said it will ask the parent for approval. Well I don't have an active device anymore as I've given it to him and it is logged in properly with his Apple ID. Unfortunately while my spouse is in our Apple family group, I didn't have them set with the privileges of being able to approve of app downloads by the children, mostly because I was always around to handle the approvals.

    I'm not sure how best to manage parental controls for my son at the moment.

    My spouse's iPad is easily accessible to me, so I could use that to 'manage' his account (approvals for downloads) -- I feel like I should have made my spouse the main contact in our Apple family group before wiping my device because now I don't have an apple device with my own login as the Organizer of the Apple family group...

    For example, I went to download some new apps to his iPad (my 'old' iPad) and it says it needs to ask a parent for approval, but I was the only parent set up to 'approve purchases' and I can see in the family settings on my spouse's iPad where it says multiple adults can approve, but only if the Organizer set it that way, but I didn't change it so that my spouse can approve purchases before wiping my device. Can I make these changes from the iCloud web login?

    If not, and the only way to make things right is to wipe his device, and login back in with my Apple ID, then I might have to do that?

    How can I make my spouse have access to parental controls at this point without having access to an iOS device myself. Can I do this via my iCloud account on the web, or via the iCloud application for the PC (which I don't mind installing if it will allow me to accomplish what I need to do)...

    Also, on a more general note, what info do you all have about managing in a household where the parents don't have iOS devices but the kids do - can everything be managed on a PC via the iCloud software application?

    Hey! I was wondering if there was a way to get the larger version of the iPad pro (2020) even though I have already ordered the smaller 11 inch. I didn't realize how small the 11 Inch was and now I am regretting not buying the 12.9. My Order is still processing but there is no way/option to change it/upgrade it. What do I do? Thanks!

    Replacement SSD for MacBook Air 13" mid-2012

    Woke my MacBook Air 13" mid-2012 (MacBookAir 5,2) from sleep one day and it stuck on a white screen for some time before showing the famous folder with a question mark. Have booted in to AHT to test. Everything is fine, but it doesn't test the SSD. Booted in to Network Recovery and Disk Utility could not see the SSD at all. Everything points to a dead SSD, sadly.

    Looking at replacing the SSD and it doesn't look hard (I've done RAM replacements in 2009-2011 MacBook Pros). Looks like I can buy either an M.2 (like this) or mSATA adaptor and buy a compatible SSD from Cruxial, Samsung, etc. and hope the adaptor is reliable. Other is buy an OWC SSD, which is obviously more costly. I've seen comments that there are reliability issues with both, but there's no way I can confirm any of them. Has anyone had any firsthand experience with either and can shed some light on which direction I should go?

    So my Otterbox Defender Series case is starting to come apart and I'm looking for a replacement. But I'm reluctant to try any others. This one can take apl drops from my pocket and that's usually how I drop it. Any recommendations or just stick with this one?

    Hey everyone - someone I live with forgot their Apple ID and their iPhone passcode, and they're now locked out of their device.

    All the apple stores in our area are only available for product pick up at this time, so they can't go in for help.

    They want to reset their phone, but when I've tried to help it just keeps going in circles— they can't reset their Apple ID because their "trusted device" is the iphone connected to their number, which is disabled.

    Anyone know what to do? Lol Thank you so much!!

    When I check battery usage it says I have used siri, but it didn’t show any apps running in the background

    Sorry I keep reposting this but this keeps happening and I have never had this happen before the iOS 13.6 update

    I went to settings, then battery and saw that it said I used Siri. Then I found the hour it said I used siri and the only other apps I used at the time were App Store, settings, and home screen. Also I don't have "hey Siri" on. It it normal, I haven't noticed this since I updated my iOS to 13.6 5 days ago. If anyone can explain why it say this I would be very thankful.
