iPhone X got stuck on apple logo because of full storage - help. Posted: 02 Jun 2020 09:53 AM PDT Hello, my phone has been saying I have no storage left. I tried deleting pictures and deleting apps but nothing worked. Today in the morning it was barely functioning until it turned off completely and when I tried turning it on and it got stuck on the Apple logo. Anyone know what I can do in order to restart it? Why does Apple make it so difficult to view files from iTunes backups? Posted: 02 Jun 2020 03:00 PM PDT Most other phone users backup their phones and are able to see all the pictures/videos on their phone, drag/drop onto their computer, then hit upload and have pictures from their computer uploaded to their phone. iPhone users however backup their phone and can't see what's in the file. Most of them blindly "recover from backup" hoping some of the files they want are there. Others don't recover one thing, because the recover is for the whole phone and sometimes means losing other data not on that computer. Some users will be able to find the file paths to access some of these files presented in unfriendly manners. Most users researching this online will be bombarded with more than a dozen sketch 3rd party programs that will do this. If there is such a huge market for apps that do this, why doesn't Apple just incorporate it into their programming? Is the benefit of getting a few more people to use iPhoto worth this much frustration for it's users? [link] [comments] |

Strange / unfortunate charging behavior with Battery Health Management enabled Posted: 02 Jun 2020 10:04 PM PDT I have a new 2020 13" MBP (4 ports, in case the specific hardware matters.) Since installing 10.15.5, I've noticed a strange thing happen twice while the system was plugged into the charger with Battery Health Management enabled: With typical load (nothing intensive), the system discharged to 85% without drawing meaningful amounts of power from the wall (max 2W according to my Kill-A-Watt meter), then immediately charged back up all the way to 100%. These percentages are reported by Initially, I thought it was drawing down the battery to 85% because that's a safer level, and it was going to leave it there because it knows I generally use it plugged in. However, both times it immediately switched directions and charged back up all the way to 100%, rather than simply holding it at 85% and powering itself from the wall, as I would have expected. It seems this behavior might actually be worse for the battery than the old behavior, and increases the cycle count unnecessarily (thus taking it out of warranty coverage faster.) Could it be a bug? Or might it start behaving better once it's had more time to learn my usage patterns? Has anyone else seen this? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Accidentally Deleted Mac OS Partition - Running Windows 10 Bootcamp Posted: 02 Jun 2020 09:52 PM PDT So I recently tried to partition my computer so that I can create some more space for games on Bootcamp. When using the partitioning wizard, I accidentally deleted the unallocated space (MacOS) instead of the new space I created (D:) drive. I tried using Mac Recovery (Command R) and it looks like my files and operating system are lost in limbo in the unallocated space. I tried using Test Disk but it couldn't find it. On startup, nothing happens unless if I hold the option key to start up on Bootcamp I don't want to pay for the other programs to recover what I did. Is there any way I can somehow recover my files without going to an Apple Store (closed because of quarantine?) [link] [comments] |
SSD drive is unreadable on Mac Posted: 02 Jun 2020 09:31 PM PDT I have a MacBook Air (Early 2014) that still runs El Capitan. I got a new ssd drive yesterday and I tried to format it to Mac OS Journaled. When I tried to erase the disk, an error popped up. And I couldn't access the disk on desktop anymore and disk utility was showing me that the disk is full. After that, I tried to partition the parent disk, but a screen popped up saying that because my child disk is not journaled, it can't be resized so I have to enable journaling from the file menu. However, it doesn't allow me to enable journaling on there. How can I fix this problem and enable journaling? P.S: I'm not an expert on tech lingo TL;DR: Mac is not allowing me to enable journaling for an unreadable ssd. [link] [comments] |
Will my MacBook Pro order come sooner than expected delivery date? Posted: 02 Jun 2020 09:30 PM PDT Placed an order for a MacBook Pro 13 inch last week with an expected delivery date of June 19-26. But if you order one today with the same configuration it'll arrive June 17-24. Does that mean mine will come sooner than my original delivery date or is it still 19-26. [link] [comments] |

AirPods won’t connect to iPhone XR Posted: 02 Jun 2020 08:51 PM PDT I recently got a wireless charging AirPod case for my AirPods v2 since I lost the old case a few months back. When I tried re pairing the AirPods to my phone I wouldn't get any prompt or sign of life from my AirPods. The only lights that show up is a flashing amber light when I open my AirPod case with the AirPods in them when it's plugged in. I tried hardware resetting my AirPods by holding the pair button down for 20 seconds. Nothing. I tried for getting the device and then I was never able to re pair it. What do I do? iOS calendar and google calendar don’t sync unless you open google calendar app iOS 13 Posted: 02 Jun 2020 08:47 PM PDT Say you have google calendar in your widgets, it won't show anything upcoming UNLESS you open the google calendar app for the upcoming events to refresh. You have to do this every few days OR whenever you add new events to your calendar. and you'll miss all notifications too until you open the google cal app and make sure the phone sees it. So weird. Is there a fix for this? [link] [comments] |
Some advice with picking an iMac with the best specs Posted: 02 Jun 2020 08:44 PM PDT Hey guys I would like some advice/a recommendation on what iMac + specs I should get. My budget is 2600. I am surely interested in a 27 inch + 5k retina display, and a 2TB SSD or whatever they offer that is 2TB. What I am having trouble with is choosing the other specs. This computer will be a family computer for general internet use, while my sister will use it for video editing and music production (making remixes and stuff). What do you guys recommend, given that we will use it for video editing and music production? The main reason why I need a new computer desperately is because our current family macbook pro experiences some extreme slow downs while rendering 30+ minute clips. I want something that can easily render even 1 hour long clips with a lot of effects. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
iphone 8 stuck on recovery mode Posted: 02 Jun 2020 04:58 PM PDT i was trying to update my iphone 8 (using itunes) to the latest ios 13.5.1 and it wouldnt work and would display an error. i retried to update it several times and it still would not work itunes would display an unknown error and would just stop the process and my iphone would be stuck on the update screen with the bar not moving. so i restarted my phone and got put on recovery mode where i had to connect my iphone to itunes, i proceeded to do that and was left with 2 options, either to update or restore my phone (with everything being deleted from it). my phone is not backed up (ik dumb) and the very last thing i want is to lose all my media. so i tried to update several times again and still no luck it would display the same error until i could only restore the phone and the update option was not there anymore. i do not want to restore my phone so i did some research and tried to get it into DFU mode but it still did not work. i downloaded 2 programs that are supposed to help with issues like these : "Trenorshare reiboot" and "imyfone fixppo". I was not able to exit recovery mode so the programs had me download a new firmware so it could be repaired. Both programs then asked for money in order to "fix" my iphone, is there a way to repair firmware without paying money to these programs idk what to do honestly i need as much help as i could get to get my phone out of recovery mode without any data loss please. is there a way to repair firmware without paying money to these programs [link] [comments] |
