| Macbook keyboard replacement program worth the hassle? Posted: 02 Jun 2020 09:14 AM PDT My 2018 MB Air has started exhibiting the typical problems with the butterfly keyboard design, with letters randomly double-inputting. I'm told by an Apple advisor that the keyboard would simply be replaced with the same butterfly design. To me, this sounds like it solves nothing, since it would only be a matter of time until the keyboard starts exhibiting the same problems all over again. Has anyone had any good results with the keyboard replacement program? Did they do anything to rectify the mechanical issues with this design in later iterations? I'm wondering if I should send it in the get the keyboard replaced, then just sell the laptop to cut my losses and buy a newer version. [link] [comments]  | ||

I've changed it multiple times, and it changes on everything BUT when I lock the screen. The situation: I have a desktop computer, and we have 200mb download, 20 upload internet. I have a hard connection via ethernet and NEVER had an issue with the connection. My phone never has an issue, and her phone never has an issue. but randomly her Laptop will cut out, or just go slow or be unresponsive randomly. And I mean randomly. And she will yell and say we need to upgrade our internet or call the provider, but it's literally ONLY her laptop. Any ideas what could be the issue? I can provide details if needed. | MBP 2016 Heating Up after Keyboard Replacement Posted: 02 Jun 2020 03:28 PM PDT I have a MacBook Pro 2016 13 inch Touch Bar edition. Recently got my keyboard replaced because, well I think we all know why. Apple replaced my logic board as well (don't know if this is part of the Keyboard Program, but they did it) as well as replaced the keyboard. I was stoked to see that I was upgraded to the 2017 MBP keyboard and getting a new battery with only 2 battery cycles (previously was close to 600 before repair). However, immediately after using my MBP, I noticed it was getting hotter than usual. Currently I'm running 7 Safari tabs with no videos on them (so nothing too power consuming), 1 Chrome tab, and my Terminal. I had the Fanny App even before the repair because I like to always be able to see what state my MBP is in, and I noticed my CPU and GPU were both at 140 degrees Fahrenheit with the above programs opened. I touched the bottom and it was pretty hot to the touch. I gave it a few minutes simply by not doing anything (left everything open) and I checked Fanny again to see it go down to 132 degrees Fahrenheit. Essentially my concern is, is this normal? Although I had Fanny installed previously, I didn't check it enough to understand what temp was normal vs abnormal. Current environment's temperature is somewhere between 65-70 degrees Fahrenheit, so I doubt my apartment's temperature is to blame. It's on a flat, wooden surface so my MBP is always able to breathe. I checked the Activity Monitor but didn't see anything standing out aside from Kernal Task being at the top of my CPU usage. Not sure what to think, might be overthinking it. [link] [comments]  | ||

It's almost flush, but it wobbles slightly with the bottom right side. I've tested it on multiple services and it's the same on all of them, so it's definitely not that the table is warped. I've also tested other laptops and all of them sit flush. I was wondering it this is normal for the 2020 line, and if I should contact Apple about getting a replacement. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Old ssd wont work in other macbook Posted: 02 Jun 2020 09:34 AM PDT Hei guys , i have a white macbook 2010 with an ssd in it, and i got a late 2008 macbook pro with hard drive , and i wanted to swap the ssd, so i instaled mac os el capitan, and put it in the macbook pro, but it doesnt get recognized, i tried to instal it directly in the macbook pro, but it doesnt work eather. I did everything right, watched a lot of tutorials. Is it possible that the ssd is kinda old, so thats why it dorsnt work? | Posted: 02 Jun 2020 11:56 AM PDT Hi guys, when I decided to buy a Macbook I never thought it was going to be this hard.I am a computer science student and my tasks consists on browsing the web, using spotify, discord, watching yt/Netflix and maybe some casual mc with the boys for 1-2 hours. I usually play on my ps4 if I need to so that is one of the reasons I decided to buy a MB. That being said, due to the RAMprice increase I started to feel like the MBP 4 ports is too much for me because I don't do ANY kind of video/photo editing, but I like a machine that can be used without problems for longer periods of time without any kind of bug/issue whatsoever. I was thinking about the MBA with the i5(in Italy it's only a 50€ bonus) and the 16gb ram. Do you think I am going to have some thermal issues with this machine? Would you suggest buying the 2ports or going big with the 4 ports? MBA 256gb i5 16gb 1529€ [I have to remove 10% due to Apple discount] I REALLY appreciate the help here, I am completely clueless at this point on what to do, thanks a lot guys ^^ [link] [comments]  | ||

When I replaced my MBA 2014 with a 2020 model, the Music app on my 2020 MBA wouldn't display album art. I already manually infused album art into the metadata of each mp3 but the Music app won't display 1/4 of them. I downloaded album art from Apple's servers via the Music app for some of the albums missing art, but there are many more albums it couldn't find album art for. Again, since I infused art within each mp3, the Music art should technically display them. I'm assuming it's a bug that Apple isn't fixing since they're more focused on their music store. Any recs? When I am on calls, sometimes I lost my Microphone and Speaker, it happens on Google Meets, Hangouts, Zoom, Skype, Discord or anything using my microphone and speaker, it's like it gets unplugged (The built-in thing)... I have happened also when I am watching movies or something using the audio... This is very annoying, I am really thinking about selling the Macbook air, because I used to have a 2015, the mini one, and this never happened. Does the MacBook Pro has this problem too?
