Posted: 07 May 2020 02:59 AM PDT Hello, my 2012 Macbook Pro updated to the latest OS version and started to kernel panic endlessly. I checked online to fix the problem, and disabling the powernap did help to stop it. But there is another bug where OS alerts me of low disk space. So I went to clean up some storage but it is eating up all the spaces as I create more space. I used to have free 10 GB space and after deleting a bunch of old iPhone backup files it should leave me about 50 GB but instead, now I have 8.6 MB available. Is this happening to you also? I know Apple hasn't released a new patch to fix these issues but is there any way to work around it? [link] [comments]

Have anyone management to resolve #1 ? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2020 03:20 AM PDT Saving of annotations (text, drawings) on pdf-files (sometimes) doesn't work. 2-day study work went to waste and I am mentally destroyed. Yes, I did try the reset to previous version of pdf. Yes, I know you can "print" the pdf into a new one, but that destroy the convenience of the command+s - saving method. [link] [comments]
Latest system that you are using Adobe CS6 on? Posted: 07 May 2020 01:29 AM PDT Latest system that you are using Adobe CS6 on? We are up and running on 10.10, and would like to update the working system to whatever. We tried to activate on a new installation of CS6 on 10.14 and that does not work, but that is an activation issue, not a software issue. I hear accounts of all sorts of stuff, but for those who are using CS6, what is the highest you have gone before you ran into failure? Has anyone updated a working CS6 install up to Mojave? Posted: 07 May 2020 01:00 AM PDT After running the Bootcamp Assistant, I went through the installation but the Bootcamp Icon is missing. I can not switch between MacOS and Windows without holding option on restarts. Attached are images of the Windows Support Software I used. Does anyone have any ideas? [link] [comments]

Pros and Cons of Catalina Vs. Mojave on an unsupported Mac? Posted: 06 May 2020 09:13 PM PDT Hey all! Sorry if this isn't the right place for this. I've just purchased the top end late '09 Mac Mini (needed Mac OS, didn't want to hackintosh and couldn't really afford a newer Mac, the price was too good to turn down) with the 2.26 Core 2 Duo, and 4gb of RAM, although I have read it will support up to 8 unofficially. I have two 4gb modules coming and am picking up an SSD tomorrow. Now, with that out of the way, I've been perusing and checking into updating it past El Cap, and I've heard good things about performance as long as it has an SSD and more RAM (both of which I have) on both Mojave and Catalina, through Dosdude's patcher. I've used this in the past for Mojave on an '09 MacBook and was surprised with the results. My question is, is it worth sticking on Mojave or is Catalina a worthy upgrade? I don't do a whole lot besides web browsing, image editing, and some light gaming (namely Minecraft which seems to run fine on just the 4gb and no SSD) I'm not really worried about video playback or anything, I have my shiny new iPhone for that. I just need something cheap and relatively "fast" (or as fast as an '09 Mini can be given the upgrades). So, should I stick with Mojave? Or make the leap to Catalina. Thanks in advance everyone! External HDMI monitor recognized as projector - is there any way to tell macOS that it's a monitor? Posted: 06 May 2020 03:31 PM PDT Hi everyone, I've been struggling with connecting an external display to my 2017 Macbook Pro 13''. I use a USB-C hub that also features an HDMI output. When I connect my 16:9 Samsung monitor via HDMI over the hub, macOS thinks I'm connecting a projector: When I click on the AirPlay icon in the menu bar, it says "Connected Projector:" and then the name of my external monitor. It also offers projector calibration settings that I don't need. This wouldn't be so bad by itself, but unfortunately, this also disables night shift on the external monitor with no option to reenable it and even causes some problems with f.lux when watching videos in full screen (severe color shifts). My question now is: Is there ANY WAY to tell macOS that my external monitor is in fact a monitor and not a projector? Or is it normal that all HDMI displays are recognized as projectors instead of displays? [link] [comments]
Is there any way to completely destroy Siri and wipe her every trace from my MacBook? Posted: 06 May 2020 07:11 PM PDT I know that you can disable Siri, but that isn't enough. My computer always asks if I would like to re-enable Siri. I'd like to do the opposite. I want Siri to be completely removed. I want her dead. Is there any way to completely remove anything and everything to do with Siri from my MacBook? I hate her so much. I just hate Siri. [link] [comments]
Can share iCloud files on macOs catalina Posted: 06 May 2020 05:52 PM PDT So when I click share on a file within iCloud Drive....I just get the standard share sheet. For example a 2 GB file>share>email...launches MacMail with the full 2 gb file attached. instead of options to share the link to the cloud. all of the documentation I am reading says I should be getting a different share sheet that shows copy link etc..etc.. anyone else? Posted: 06 May 2020 11:45 AM PDT Tried changing my log-in screen name to the blank character so that only my photo would show up. Then when I tried to change any setting by unlocking the gold padlock key, the system wouldn't accept my username and password anymore. Tried changing the password a couple of times and typing my old User Name and also using the blank character a couple of times but still the same. Turns out, when I changed my log-in name to a blank character, the username for the admin changes to the Account name indicated in the User & Groups - Advanced Options of the Current User - Account name, which I found out when I tried to change other settings and trying to unlock the gold padlock and the username changed to what is indicated in the Account name. So used that and *phew* it worked. Lesson learned: Don't use the blank character in any system settings, you might get into trouble. Did not follow the big red WARNING description in the Advanced Options. [link] [comments]

Bizarre keyboard issue after new update. Posted: 06 May 2020 12:00 PM PDT Hey everyone! I'm not very tech savvy so I thought I'd reach out to see if anyone can help. I have a 12 inch MacBook from 2016. Today I updated it to 10.15.4 and immediately after some keys stopped working as they normally would. The computer still registers the keystrokes though. My delete key will not backspace any text unless it has been highlighted. I was able to get the delete key to sometimes work normally when I held the control key at the same time but the screen would flicker every time I did that. My left and right arrow keys will not move one letter at a time. Instead it jumps the whole word. In a word document, the up and down arrow keys will not scroll one line at a time. Instead it jumps half a document. My spotlight no longer pops up when I press command + space bar. I contacted Apple support and I tried every troubleshooting step they recommended (SMC reset, NVRAM reset, testing a different user account, resetting all keyboard commands/shortcuts to default, and a safe mode boot). None of those helped unfortunately. Almost every time I restart the computer everything works just fine but then after a few minutes it will go back to not working. I tried an external keyboard and that worked just fine. Apple recommended I send my device in, but unfortunately that's not possible right now as I need it for work. I'm not too sure what to do. Any insight or recommendations would be super helpful!! Thanks in advance :) [link] [comments]
“Scheduled” Reminders on macOS Posted: 06 May 2020 11:02 AM PDT I am on macOS Mojave I have three different reminders lists. Reminders from two of those lists show up on the scheduled tab on the left but the items from the third list don't show up even though the date/time is set for them. On iOS 13, the reminders list detect those items from third list to add to scheduled tab but it's only macOS that can't Any suggestions pls? How do I get the scheduled tab to read from the third list ( I created it today) Thanks [link] [comments]
Problem with random tabs in Safari/Chrome on MacBook Air Posted: 06 May 2020 10:23 AM PDT Hello My girlfriend has a MacBook Air which suddenly started having problems where random tabs show up whenever she presses on a link. The tabs that show up is mostly random online shops. She can't recall when it started, and i have tried to use CleanMyMac X to get rid of the problem, but it did not work. Is there anything else i can try before i resort to deleting and reinstalling the entire OS? I appreciate any help or tips! [link] [comments]
