Is Atmos + Apple TV possible without eARC? Posted: 06 May 2020 04:54 PM PDT Has anyone managed to get the Apple TV to output Atmos without having the TV connected to the sound bar or an eARC port? I'm looking into getting the new Sonos Arc but my TV only has ARC and no eARC. There is no HDMI input on the Sonos Arc so would only be able to connect ATV to my TV and have the Soundbar connected to the ARC. Does anyone run anything similar with a different Atmos setup? How do you manage to get it to work with the ATV? [link] [comments]
Why do I *still* have to use the Computers app to access Home Sharing? Posted: 06 May 2020 06:07 AM PDT Every other platform has this integrated into the TV app, why is the Apple TV so far behind on this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2020 07:33 PM PDT Hi - I have a 4k AppleTV on a relatively new LG 55" TV. I've been using it w/o a problem since November when Disney+ launched (there was no app at the time for LG). It worked fine earlier today but this evening (maybe a couple hrs after its last use) its not. Basically the screen is black with a flicker. Every now and then I can see what should be on the screen for a split second (the home page with the apps for example) and then it's gone. Even the text that says I'm on the Apple TV input flickers a bit. I know its not the TV because I can use apps w/o a problem. My amateur opinion was a loose cable but I unplugged everything and then reconnected it and no change. I can't find a straight answer on apple.com and there is nothing recent here on it that I can find. Any advice would be wonderful. We've al kinda gotten used to the app at this point even if we no longer need it for D+. thanks! [link] [comments]
Question regarding purchasing movie (iTunes) Posted: 06 May 2020 11:02 PM PDT Hi, I am wondering, is it possible to buy a movie from a UK store using an Australian Apple ID? or what would be a better option for me in this case? Do I need to make an account for UK store? if so, will it appear to my library upon purchase when I switch back to Australian account? Any thoughts? [link] [comments]
Does the AppleTV+ app support Dolby Vision? Posted: 06 May 2020 06:54 PM PDT I have a TCL Roku TV. In the A+ app, movies will only play in normal HDR and not Dolby Vision. Is DV not supported on the app? [link] [comments]
Best (Any?) App to Test Surround Sound Posted: 06 May 2020 02:32 PM PDT I have an ATV 4K. I am planning to set up a Sonos Playbar with 2 Play Ones as surround sounds speakers. Are there any good apps to test that surround sound is working correctly (i.e. something that definitely outputs sounds to the correct channels for testing purposes)? Thanks in advance! Movies in Atmos downloaded from iTunes Posted: 06 May 2020 06:09 PM PDT Hello, quick question - I have iTunes on my Windows PC. I have a 5.1.2 home theater setup with Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 with Plex, Emby and Kodi for media. If I buy/rent a movie from iTunes, can I stream it via Plex/Emby to my Shield TV with Dolby Atmos? Note that I have a 1080p display. Also I know that 4k from iTunes requires Apple TV 4k. [link] [comments]
Sharing personal library to Apple TV Posted: 06 May 2020 04:56 PM PDT Hi all, second time posting here. I had tremendous help last time so I thought I would try my luck again. I have a few movies that I added into my library on the Apple TV app on my Mac (I did not purchase them through iTunes/Apple). Is there a way to get the movies to play from my mac onto the Apple TV app on a Roku to watch on the TV? I see all my purchases on the Roku Apple TV version, I just can't get the personal uploads to transfer over. Basically, it's like Plex (I tried Plex not a fan, so I wanted to try this route). I have Home Sharing turned on. Thank you! [link] [comments]

Problems with One for all streamer remote and Apple TV4 (Cant turn it to sleep) Posted: 06 May 2020 11:20 AM PDT I just bought this remote and have a problem with it, and I was hoping someone in this subreddit could give me some tips on how to resolve it. I have used the codes to get it to work with my Sony Bravia TV and Apple TV4. Most of the important functions seems to work as expected, and my over all experience is positive. I think its a little of a bummer that most of the functions in the Home button cant be replicated, like the app switcher and closing of apps. I can live with that though. But one thing that is a little irritating, and it does not seem like the One for all support cant help me with this. Its the fact that I cant turn it off or put the Apple TV to sleep with the remote. I can turn my Sony TV on and off with the white TV power button without problems, and I can turn on the Apple TV with the Home button, but I cant turn it off or getting it to sleep. As of now I have to navigate into Apple TV settings app to turn it off, but that is not very practical. I would much prefer to turn it off with one of the keys on the remote. Someone in this subreddit stated that he/she could turn off the Apple TV4, if first pressing the Home button, and then pressing the red off button, but that does not seem to work for me, nothing happens when I press those buttons. One for all support recommended me to use learning mode. But when the possibility to replicate much of the Home buttons functions is very limited, I cant get it to work. On the original Siri remote you can press the Home button to get the Side panel where you can choose to put it to sleep, but I cant replicate that with the streamer remote. Is there someone in this subreddit that owns this remote, and knows if there is some solution for this? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/one-for-all-streamer-remote-black/6337295.p [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 May 2020 06:48 AM PDT So I have a general question and I can't really find a consistent answer anywhere. If I buy a HD movie (for arguments sake The Bourne Identity) from iTunes Store, no Blu-ray codes, no Movies Anywhere, no vudu, if I buy the HD version of Bourne from the iTunes Store, and then 2 months later Apple offers it in 4K with DV and DA, what happens to my version? 1) Does it remain in HD or is it upgraded to 4K DA DV? 2) And if I am upgraded, how long does the process take for me to receive an upgraded copy? 3) Am I notified that it's been upgraded?
