ok so theres this “WLAN” thing just where the “WIFI” is supposed to be Posted: 20 May 2020 07:45 PM PDT short summary: Some time ago my father was given an iPhone 6, but recently he bought another cell phone, so he gave me his iPhone 6, the thing is that instead of using "Wi-Fi" the cell phone uses something called "WLAN" And the problem is that "WLAN" is like a shitty version of Wi-Fi, why? because in order for "WLAN" to work I have to be less than 2 meters away (6 ft) from the router. This was never a problem with my father because he always used "mobile data" so if anyone could tell me a solution for this (other than using mobile data) I would be very pleased [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 May 2020 08:32 PM PDT Hello, I am currently trying to complete my university exams and my iPhone has failed, so "I am ah very stress" (Borat voice) I have an iPhone XR (64gb if that has any relevance) which was running iOS 13.2, and I just attempted to update it to iOS 13.5 using my MacBook Pro which is running macOS Catalina Version 10.15.3. My iPhone had about 2.3gb of free space on it before updating, and as a precaution I backed it up to my MacBook. I then proceeded to follow the prompts on my MacBook to update my iPhone. The update file downloaded to my MacBook and then my MacBook restarted my iPhone and began the update. This progressed up until roughly 80% to 90% according to the progress bar (referring to the black screen with the white apple logo with the progress bar underneath). My MacBook then gave me an error message which went something along the lines of "An unknown error has occurred with your iPhone Update" and then almost immediately the MacBook unrecognized my iPhone, even though it was still plugged in. It has been stuck like this for over an hour. My laptop refused to acknowledge that my iPhone is plugged into it, my iPhone won't respond to any buttons, and it is still stuck on the progress bar screen. please help [link] [comments] |
The more photos I delete, the more space “system” takes up. Posted: 20 May 2020 03:02 PM PDT I've probably deleted thousands of photos but have only been able to take a few hundred more. I turned on icloud photos but still used all the icloud space up again despite my phone saying I have tons of free storage. What gives? Is it just taking a long time to delete all the photos i deleted or are there fragments of data still leftover? [link] [comments] |

Verification Failed: There was an error verifying the passcode of your iPhone " error, please help Posted: 20 May 2020 09:03 PM PDT i would really appreciate it if someone could help me with this problem that i having with my iPhone 7. I recently came across this notification in the settings app telling me to "update Apple ID Settings" but when i go ahead and input my password and then my current and old passcode, it says, "Verification Failed: There was an error verifying the passcode of your iPhone". My photos are intact but my messages and my settings are gone. I would like to get my messages back as much as possible. I have tried the following so far and i still get the same error. - Reset network and all settings - Reset Wifi/used different network/made sure internet is working/made sure apple servers are online and working -Signed out of everything/changed passcode/password - Forced restart/tried forgot passcode There was an option to "Reset device" but that would mean resetting everything that was encrypted and stored on my icloud account including messages and i cant have that. please help. Posted: 20 May 2020 07:54 PM PDT Hello everyone and thanks to anyone who can help answer my question I have a friend coworker who works in the same building as his significant other (different departments). Without going into too much detail, their relationship has broken trust between them and therefore his girlfriend is constantly looking for him in the building. He'll be in some random location within the building working and she'd somehow find him. I've only just learned about iBeacon (Pixel user here) and the moment I learned about it, I had an 'Aha! ' moment. This is how she must be finding my friend in the building all the time. But having tried YouTube and Google to see if anything comes up about iBeacon stalking, nothing comes up. My question is rather simple. Is it truly possible for my friend's girlfriend to have set up an iBeacon on his phone without his knowledge, and track him accurately and effectively using her phone? Thanks again [link] [comments] |
Help! Need to be untraceable to crazy ex! Posted: 20 May 2020 03:32 PM PDT My ex is crazy and I'm afraid he'll stalk me. How do i make sure he can't track my location? Can he track me through WiFi? Please help! [link] [comments] |

Why won’t my 3.5mm EarPods work in an AT&T android phone? Posted: 20 May 2020 12:52 PM PDT I get nothing when I plug them in. I mean it's a 3.5mm plug in. What gives? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 May 2020 12:37 PM PDT Does anyone know the principles behind slide typing language recognition? I have an english and emoji keyboards set, but somehow my iphone still recognizes when I slide type in french. Weirdly enough, I tested it om another iphone, and it didn't work, it only recognized english. Both iphones have english keyboards, no french, both have identical settings, both iphone 7s, but one recognizes french and the other one doesn't. I was wondering if it maybe somehow analyzes text (I have a couple of notes in french) and turns it on. Idk, I'm puzzled [link] [comments] |

Posted: 20 May 2020 06:19 AM PDT I have an iPhone 7 which has its battery replaced. In settings it says health 100% but service. I've tried using another genuine apple battery it wouldn't read it at all. I'm gonna try restoring and try to downgrade as it could be an iOS bug ( it's running iOS 13.4) What thing would you guys suggest Thanks [link] [comments] |

Posted: 20 May 2020 11:41 AM PDT I tried searching web forums and couldn't find a concrete answer. Has anyone here ever received a text message alert on your iPhone lock screen, responded to the text from the lock screen, and then had that original text message you responded to already reappear on your lock screen as a notification? Wondering if this is a bug or if anyone has more info? Again, if you respond to a message from your lock screen, and the recipient doesn't respond, but a new message alert/notification appears on the lock screen? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 May 2020 10:59 AM PDT How hard would it be to replace a screen for a 5 as my friend needs a phone and the iPhone 5 is cheep and I'd be up for the challenge to fix one as I love to work on tech I was also thinking about a 6 Am thinking now about a iPhone 7 if I could fix a 7 he'd probably love it but I'm guessing a 7 is hard to work on [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 May 2020 06:21 AM PDT So I have this iPhone 6 that was stuck in the Restore screen. So I tried as instructed to Update and Restore the iPhone through the iTunes Desktop app. That didn't help so I was trying Reiboot which made it even worse. Now I'm stuck with the apple logo which reappears every few seconds. Anyone knows how to fix it? [link] [comments] |
Web Clips Requiring Permission to Open Apps After Updating to 13.4.1 (iPhone 7) Posted: 20 May 2020 09:46 AM PDT I have some custom icons for a few apps via a profile made in Configurator 2 by creating web clips with the URL set to the URL scheme for the app (e.g. googlechrome:// for Chrome), but after updating to iOS 13.4.1, the web clips are now requiring permission to open the apps I set them to. It takes 5-10 seconds to load, then asks "Open this page in "App Name"?" with the options to cancel or open below, whereas before the app would instantly launch. I reinstalled the profile and messed a bit with some of the settings (such as disabling full screen) and checked that the schemes hadn't changed, but haven't had any luck figuring out what part of the update caused this change. I also looked around in my settings to see if some permission just got defaulted and I had to reenable it, but found nothing for any of the apps, Safari, etc., and had not had any restrictions or other configurations set in the profile. Does anyone with more technical expertise have any advice or information on what in the update could have made this change, and if there's anyway to set it up so the apps open again as soon as the web clip is launched? I would really rather not have to go through this process every time I open a clip. [link] [comments] |
Screen randomly refuses to work properly Posted: 20 May 2020 09:31 AM PDT The phone had been off for a while as it was out of use. Starting using it again as I have no phone now. The screen is fine, but randomly the screen won't respond correctly and will move on it's own, pressing in locations I haven't. I can temporarily fix it by holding the buttons & restarting it, but it starts again at a random time. Sometimes it will respond to me hovering my finger over the screen (VERY close to the screen though). How do I stop this? [link] [comments] |

Photos app absolutely refuses to show iCloud photos since update to 13.4.1. What am I doing wrong? Posted: 20 May 2020 06:12 AM PDT iPhone 6sPlus, 1 year old, no previous issues. The update ran automatically at night, in the morning all but 20 photos (out of 1.500) were gone from the phone. I can still see them through iCloud.com. Currently, it's set to iCloud > photos: on - optimize iPhone storage on - upload to my photo stream on Stuff I've tried:
What else can I try? Thanks! EDIT: I just deleted some 10GB of data off the phone; so I now have 14GB unused storage. [link] [comments] |
