Got Gmail Dark Mode on iOS 13.4 !

    [Same post in /r/iOS]

    Hi all !

Just wanted to let you know that Google started another wave of migrating users of Gmail to dark mode !! (at least I think so..)

I was browsing this subreddit this morning and saw a post about Gmail app getting dark mode, and some other comments on the post saying they got it as well !

So I went right away to my app to test. It didn't get any dark mode at first, I had to disable the account and reenable it. To do that :

    • toggle Dark Mode on in iOS
    • open Gmail app
    • tap your photo in the upper right corner
    • tap Manage Accounts on this device
    • turn off your account(s) (I only have one, didn't test with multiple accounts, but I think you should turn all of them off — ?)
    • force quit Gmail within the multitask screen
    • reopen Gmail (at this stage, you will be greeted with the classical dark spalsh screen and then it turns light as usually)
    • enable your account (again : I don't know how it would work with multiple accounts but I would enable only the most recently created Google Account first to see)
    • now the app should get dark mode !

Should I mention I am based in Europe/France ? Maybe they enable dark mode location based.

I should mention I am on iOS 13.4.1 currently and of course the Gmail app is up to date, version 6.0.200412 from the App Store.

And I still didn't get the option to upload files from the iOS Files app (as it was mentioned in the changelog of version 6.0.200412), it might be a server-enabled feature...

Let us know if this worked for you, for me it worked right away.
