    Magic Keyboard X-ray

    Posted: 07 May 2020 10:01 AM PDT

I'd buy a magic keyboard if the top was magnetic on both sides and did this...

    Posted: 07 May 2020 08:25 AM PDT

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a Magic Keyboard concept I created for the iPad Pro:)

    Posted: 06 May 2020 10:25 PM PDT

Is it just me or Apple seems to have Optimized Battery Charging enabled on iPadOS (but not really visible like on iOS)? I’m working on my iPad right now and my charge level has been stuck at 80% for like two hours now. More on the comment section...

I’m loving my new iPad Pro 11 inch, but have been utterly unimpressed with the battery life. Thinking of returning it.

    Posted: 07 May 2020 07:56 AM PDT

What is everyone else's experience with the iPad Pro 11 inch battery life? I absolutely love it, but I'm barely getting through a day with every low level use. I am having to charge it often 2x a day, and the most intense thing I'm doing is watch the occasional one hour episode of something on Netflix but 90% of the time I'm just using safari. As I use the ipad I can see the battery percentage dropping by a point every couple of minutes, even if I'm just using Safar.

Is it possible I have a defective version? Is there any way I can check? What have other people's experiences been. I really really really love the iPad, and I don't want to have to return it, but the whole point of buying it was for it to be portable. Kind of defeats the point if I have to charge it multiple times a day.

Magic Keyboard: Issues with Trackpad in sunlight?

    Posted: 07 May 2020 12:10 PM PDT

I love my Magic Keyboard. It has completely revolutionised my iPad Pro - which I said about the Brydge, and now this feels like a hundred times better.

It's been sunny the last few days, and I've been working in the garden. But for some reason, when exposed to direct sunlight, the trackpad becomes unresponsive, or jittery. It only ever happens when the trackpad is bathing in sunlight, and every other time (and I use this thing for 6 hours straight per day), it's perfect.

Why would sunlight be interfering with the trackpad? I'm more curious than annoyed - and by 'sunlight' I mean 16C, so hardly roasting!

    Local file management on ipads

    Posted: 07 May 2020 09:00 AM PDT

So, I'm predominantly an Android guy, but my artistic side practically DEMANDS I get an iPad to replace my Galaxy tab S4(it's not terrible, but it's not in the same league as an apple pencil with Procreate)... I do have experience with the original iPad pro, but one niggling issue I had was difficult locating and accessing CBZ comic files I had downloaded from humble bundle.

I guess, in my ideal world, I'm fine with downloading most of my files (comic, video and MAYBE music) to my Android phone so long as the iPad plays nice if I try to transfer them over via USB drive (with a CCK) to the iPad. I know iOS is more a walled garden environment, but I also know apps exist on iOS that allow me to read those files too, so there must be a way to do this, theoretically. I'm hoping my previous experience was just a fluke and any advice on how viable this is would be helpful

    Thanks everyone

Why is the mouse behaviour different when Assistive Touch is enabled?

    Posted: 07 May 2020 09:20 AM PDT

iPadOS 13.4 radically changed the way external BT mice behave in the OS for some reason. I now realise that the mouse is much smoother when connected but when Assistive Touch is disabled. However, in this mode the extra buttons on the mouse don't do anything.

When I activate Assistive Touch, the mouse lags weirdly and goes all kinds of directions making it much less smooth and useful, but the extra buttons work.

Have you guys figured out how to have both?

    Thanks,

    MM

    iPadOS external hdd/flash/etc disk format

    Posted: 07 May 2020 12:47 PM PDT

I'm looking at going all in on iPad soon, ditching my macbook (swollen battery, can't get another macbook at this point). I've googled this but it's unclear on what exactly is supported by iPad Pro -

APFS, ExFat, HFS+ but I'm reading that encrypted format is not supported? Some websites say APFS is not supported. It's also my understanding that the iPad Pros cannot format a disk, so it would have to be done by another device. What's my best avenue if that is the case? If I no longer have a macbook, then how do I best proceed?

So.. maybe someone here can shine some clarity on this.

Logitech combo touch keyboard - Anyone from the UK ordered from Logitech’s website instead of Apple’s?

    Posted: 07 May 2020 07:07 AM PDT

If anyone from the uk has ordered the new combo touch keyboard (for the iPad Air & pro 10.5), is Logitech actually shipping orders placed on their website? The website says the keyboard is still on pre-order, but Apple is already sending units out. Only wondering as current delivery for the keyboard from Apple's website is estimated for the end of June, but Logitech says they deliver in 4-7 days (but still on pre-order??)

External hard drive to iPad Air 3

    Posted: 07 May 2020 07:04 AM PDT

A while back when I got the air I didn't opt for the 256gb mainly cause I knew I wouldn't do anything on it that needed the space. It was mostly for fun like streaming or sketching and the random game like coc. I am planning on using it for classes at some point but even then the space wasn't needed. I am going however going to take it on road trips and the plan was to use the light adapter from apple to connect my wd passport to it to watch movies or vice versa put some files from the iPad onto the external.

Here is the issue, the external hard drive has no errors and isn't more than a few years old. I used the lightning camera adapter with the extra slot for powering with long honking cable to connect the drive to the iPad. What ended up happening was the light on the drive flashed intermittently and every 10 seconds I heard short click from the drive. I disconnected it and hooked it up to my laptop and it still worked fine.

Looking this issue up I found out it might be that the file format is ntfs and iPad doesn't recognize it. So I moved all the data off it and reformatted(not the quick one) to exfat. Again I hooked up the drive to the adapter, power source to the lightning port on the adapter and plugged the adapter into the air. Same result as before reformatting.

Now my solution if you all don't have one is just to use one drive since I have the 1tb on the iPad and pull stuff from it when I want. I also then would have to find out how to save files from iPad on to one drive when classes start. So if y'all can help with the short term and long term problem I'd appreciate it.

Tl;dr: trying to connect external drive to iPad with apple camera adapter. Drive flashes the white light weirdly and a random click every 10 seconds and nothing shows up on iPad. Oh and the drive is now exfat

Brydge Connect is now available in the App Store. Update your Brydge Pro+ with the latest firmware to improve pointer tracking and the two finger scroll experience, plus introduce two finger physical right click.

Why did you buy your first iPad? (And have you ever looked back?)

    Posted: 07 May 2020 06:46 AM PDT

When the first generation iPad was released, I knew about it but till today I've never felt I was missing anything. I still feel perfectly served by my smartphone and my PC. But I'm sure that was how everyone felt before they got one. Like you can't miss something if you've never experienced it.

What made you take the plunge on your first iPad? Was there any part of your experience that makes your iPad almost irreplaceable? Or maybe, as I fear I may do if I buy one, you bought an iPad only to find that the things you do are better on a phone or a laptop?

Has anyone had any luck using a power passthrough usb c hub?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 11:53 PM PDT

I recently bought this Belkin usb c hub and whenever i connect the power passthrough it says not charging on the iPad. On an iPad Pro 2018 11" using the official 18W adapter included with the iPad.
