- For those who recently purchased a new iPad and looking to do some coding on it, here are some great app options
- My Apple Pencil has a flat spot since I always hold it the same way (zoom in)
- A bit shocked by Sopiguard’s support team
- Air 2 DIY screen replacement...
- A little montage I made. On a Mac, shortcuts like ⌘C or ⌘B light up the menu bar to let you know something happened. iPad doesn’t have such a thing, so in my opinion a very quick pop-up like this could work well.
- Since you bought your iPad, have you reduced screen time on your phone, and do you also care less about upgrading it often?
- “The future of USB connectivity” surely feels like ancient history but who am I to argue with a working solution?
- Decided to go with brushed gunmetal, the magic keyboard feels and looks 100x better now!
- Playing music from an external storage device
- Programming in python and assembly on iPad Pro running Debian
- I have recently dabbing my idea about moving to digital notes, I have some doubts as I am quite new to the apple world/ipad world.
- Best heavy duty but easy to remove iPad mini case?
- PWA
- Order processing and shipping time?
- Does anyone who uses Ipad pro primarily for video editing wish they bought more internal storage?
- Today is the first day I’m using my iPad and I feel like a kindergartner learning how to write for the first time.
- Got my Magic Keyboard skin!
- New SopiGuard skin is nicer than I had expected
- Is there an app to livestream my screen to facebook
- Does Sidecar works with non-Apple pencil?
- Logitech Crayon charging and use question
- Vim bindings system-wide on iPadOS is surprisingly easy. Easier than OSX even. Enable Full Keyboard Access in Accessibility settings, then customize movement commands.
- Surround sound with iPad HDMI adapter and Prime Video
- Is there a notes app that lets you write on a PDF or Word doc and then convert to text?

A bit shocked by Sopiguard’s support team Posted: 18 May 2020 09:19 AM PDT I recently bought a 2020 iPad Pro and ordered some skins for the iPad from DBrand and for the MK from Sopiguard. I saw that Sopiguard were the only ones making skins for the iPad Pro MK at the moment on here and over on the Macrumours forum, and many fellow members were giving positive reviews, and so I gave it a shot (never heard of them before). I'm shipping them to Australia and didn't take much notice of the shipping and courier details when ordering except that they were both using the USPS First Class International Service, which I thought had tracking included/free add-on. (Please do correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not too familiar with ordering and shipping products from the US.) Fast forward to today I was checking in on the statuses of my orders when I realised that my Sopiguard order had no tracking available, which confused me a bit. Out of curiosity I reached out and sent a quick message about this: Tbh I was a bit baffled by their reply... I've never had any support team reach back to me in that manner before Was I being too picky or unreasonable with my request and does anyone have similar experiences with them? [link] [comments]
Air 2 DIY screen replacement... Posted: 18 May 2020 01:32 PM PDT So about 6 months ago my iPad Air 2 contract was coming to an end, and i managed to drop it in the bath (dont ask, nothing nsfw ha). I had superhuman reactions and pretty much grabbed it before it hit the bottom of the bath but it did fully submerge. I wrapped it in a towel for a while then warmed it up with a hair dryer many times over. After about a week i tried it and the screen just flickered at me, i just about did a full reset see if my that would help some how, but it didnt, so i put it in the draw to gather dust and went ahead with my upgrade. Now, i have tried the screen again and it comes on fine no flickers or anything, fingerprint scanner is ok, but the touch doesnt work. So on go the DIY gloves. I have some knowledge of apple repairs but have never done this, i managed to detatch the screen (unbroken)from the body and im just about to go look into getting a 3rd party replacement screen but thought i would come to reddit for some advice/ideas/pointers/dos and donts.... you get the drift. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 May 2020 11:24 AM PDT I'm buying an iPad pro for college note-taking, media consumption, and browsing Reddit. I'd imagine that with such a powerful device I would only need my phone for texting, calling, and other basic stuff. Therefore I believe the 2nd Gen SE would nail those basics for me. How has your iPad affected your relationship with your phone? [link] [comments]

Playing music from an external storage device Posted: 18 May 2020 11:38 AM PDT Hi, I'm asking this question for my dad, who is thinking about getting an iPad, but would like to know if he can read music files from an external device? E.g. browsing the external device using Files and tapping a song to listen to it I've tried searching the subreddit, but most posts talk about importing the files onto the iPad, whereas he simply wants to read them off an external hard drive/storage device where he's planning on storing songs ripped from his CD collection, Thanks for any help, it'll be much appreciated ! Posted: 18 May 2020 05:49 AM PDT Although I use android exclusively and love it to core, gotta admit there is nothing like an ipad. So I bought my ipad 5th gen for 200 quids little more than 2 years back (I know I said new to apple and android world, the reason being I just used it for Google docs once or twice, reading some textbooks of it, and most of the time it has been my youtube/prime video machine. So didn't really use it like many of you do) So recently I went in this whirl wind of youtube videos by many youtube creator who makes these super pretty notes and goes on to 10 hours of study sessions and other stuffs. Although I might not be that person, who can do all those stuff. But the idea of having my notes with my all time in a simple small machine is quite palatable. Before the world went into shit storm by the virus. I came to visit me nan's place and got stuck here due to lockdown. And it's been almost 3 months with no books, no notes and limited connectivity. So if I had made digital notes I would have atleast have something. To study with, I also didn't bring any notes book or any pages. And the recent sale of notability by 25% cemented my idea of atleast trying to make digital notes. So my questions are -
Sorry if some of the questions sound trivial to you. Just curious about this. Thanks [link] [comments]
Best heavy duty but easy to remove iPad mini case? Posted: 18 May 2020 04:19 PM PDT Willing to spend $$ for a good one. I've found myself taking mine everywhere including our pool and want to keep it safe! [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 May 2020 05:44 AM PDT Hello all, I've just got a brand new iPad Pro 12.9" 2020 and I was interested in using progressive web apps for like Reddit, YouTube, Twitter... So I do use Safari and click "add to home screen". When I click on the icon on my homescreen, what it does is just open up a new tab in safari... Shouldn't be normally a separate thing powered by safari but within its own window ? Am I doing it wrong ? Also would be interesting to see which app replaced for the PWA / web version ? Thanks community ! [link] [comments]
Order processing and shipping time? Posted: 18 May 2020 12:05 PM PDT I've been in "order processing" limbo for IPP for 11 days 😠is due to arrive on the 20th but it hasn't even moved to preparing to ship yet. Anybody else in a similar situation? UK btw [link] [comments]
Does anyone who uses Ipad pro primarily for video editing wish they bought more internal storage? Posted: 18 May 2020 11:37 AM PDT Hey everyone. I recently got the 256 gb Ipad Pro for school and I'm in love with it. Only now do I realize how amazing it is for video editing and going forward, will use it for school and my primary video editor. So for people out there who regularly use it for video editing, do you wish you bought it a bigger internal storage? I'm still in my 14 day grace period so I'm thinking of sending it back and getting the half terabyte. Thanks [link] [comments]

Is there an app to livestream my screen to facebook Posted: 18 May 2020 12:41 PM PDT I want to livestream myself drawing on Procreate to facebook directly from my iPad.Is there any app or a way I can do it. I saw other people asking the same thing with Zoom or google meet but it's not what I am looking for. P.S. sorry if there's any mistake. English is not my first language 😅 [link] [comments]
Does Sidecar works with non-Apple pencil? Posted: 18 May 2020 06:27 AM PDT Hi redditors, I'm wondering if I have to buy an Apple pencil to use Sidecar "touch ability". I can't find anything on the web. I'm really not interested in palm rejection, pressure sensitivity etc. as I'd just use that to tweak synths on my MacBook. There are plenty of alternative on amazon but I'm unsure if they'll work or not. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Logitech Crayon charging and use question Posted: 18 May 2020 04:42 AM PDT I know that the Logitech Crayon can't be used while charging, but will it work if it's connected to the charging cable with no power going through the cable? I know it sounds like an odd question, but I am trying to design a new head-pointer for myself (that's how I use my iPad Pro due to severe mobility challenges) with a good active stylus attached and a USB powerbank on-board to charge the stylus as needed. The powerbank itself should only need charging every few weeks since styli don't require much power. The stylus will always be connected to the powerbank for accessibility reasons, but I plan to use a cable with a power switch in it so I can start/xtop charging on my own. Hopefully this makes sense. Surround sound with iPad HDMI adapter and Prime Video Posted: 18 May 2020 06:39 AM PDT Hello, I searched this sub but couldn't find an answer for my question. I'm thinking of buying the official Lightning to HDMI adapter to watch Amazon Prime Video on my TV. I'm currently using my PC with Chrome browser but this only outputs stereo sound. What I would like to know is if the iPad with HDMI adapter will work with 5.1 audio using the Prime Video app. My iPad is a 2017 model. If it doesn't give 5.1 sound then there's no point in buying the HDMI adapter, as my current setup works perfectly in stereo. Netflix has their app in Windows that outputs 5.1, but it seems there's no Prime Video app for Windows. I've tried a Chromecast but couldn't get 5.1 out of it. This seems to be a common problem with Chromecast not being compatible with many receivers. Then I looked for the Amazon Fire stick, but nobody seems to ship these to my country (Belgium). That's why I thought about using my iPad with the HDMI adapter, but I can't find any reliable info about 5.1 audio compatibility (especially in Prime Video). Any tips are greatly appreciated. Is there a notes app that lets you write on a PDF or Word doc and then convert to text? Posted: 18 May 2020 01:25 AM PDT I know I can write in notes apps and convert to text, but this will be easier for marking presentations on a form when I don't want to lug my laptop around with me.
