| 4k apple tv - every time i press a button on the remote it says "pairing remote please hold near tv" Posted: 08 May 2020 12:35 PM PDT not sure how to fix as my remote will not work with the apple tv. Every time i hit a button it says "pairing, hold near tv" if i do so I get the "remote paired" message, but as soon as i press a button i again get "pairing remote..." Is there some way to fix? Edit - Using the Apple tv software reboot worked, not sure why a hard reset wouldn't have tho [link] [comments]  |

I've set my apple tv to control my BT3 speakers however, it only works to turn the volume UP. It won't let me go back down. So i'm having to use 2 remotes. I've tried setting this up on the apple tv twice where you hold the volume up and down buttons until the bar is full etc. That works but then when it comes to it volume will only go upwards. | Apple TV 4K - Connectivity Issues Posted: 09 May 2020 01:47 AM PDT Hi guys, I've been having trouble getting my apps (Netflix, Spotify, Apple TV) to work. I kept getting connection errors, so I reset my modem and nothing changed. A day later I was having the same issues. Today I made a hard reset multiple times for about 2 hours and I kept getting a server failed issue when trying to connect with my usual WiFi. I decided to turn on my personal hotspot on and use that WiFi and it all worked again. So I got my appletv set up and finally managed to connect my Apple ID again. But the second I connected to my usual WiFi I got the same internet connection error. Anyone have any ideas what could be the issue?? Could someone have caused this to happen? [link] [comments]  |

On WiFi with a gig connection and AX router (I know atv doesn't have ax chip) I get 150-300. On Ethernet I get 470. Anyone record anything higher than 470? If so what hardware? Granted I'm using a flat cat6 so maybe that's the issue. [link] [comments]  |

| Does anyone know what happened to Common Sense Media on the Apple TV movies app? Posted: 08 May 2020 11:21 AM PDT I feel so stupid but google is not helping me find out what happened to the common sense media rating that used to be attached to just about any movie on the movies app in the Apple TV. I really loved it and found it actually more helpful than that rotten tomatoes. I noticed a few weeks ago it was gone and I let it go but I want to know why and if there is a way to get it back. | Posted: 08 May 2020 06:29 PM PDT I love watching music videos. I have an iPhone/iPad. I'm subscribed to Apple Music. I don't have an Apple TV. I know I'm like two years late to the game, but I just realized that music videos are included in my Apple Music subscription and that I can create music video playlists on my iPhone/iPad! My whole life, I've always wanted to be able to play high-quality music videos on my TV, without advertisements. We like to host BBQ/pool parties, and we always plug my iPad directly into our TV receiver, which is also hooked up to our indoor/outdoor speakers, to play our "party music" playlist, but I'd also love the option to play music videos on our TV during the party (we will just have to be careful about keeping them rated PG if our friend's little kiddos are over!!!) In the past, I've tried to use YouTube playlists, but the advertisements are annoying and sometimes the video quality is awful. Plus, if the video is deleted from YouTube, it disappears from my playlist forever. Before that I tried using the VEVO app on my husband's X-Box, but it would randomly freeze ALL THE TIME. The video quality was also TERRIBLE 99% of the time. Sooooooooo what is it like watching music videos on the Apple Music app on an Apple TV? How is the video quality? Are there advertisements? Does the app ever crash or freeze? How well does the shuffle feature work? Can I watch music videos from a certain "artist" or "genre" or would I have to make a playlist for each "thing" I wanted to shuffle by? Is there an option to shuffle all music videos in my library or would I have to make another playlist with all of my music videos? Is there a limit on how many music videos can be in a playlist? Can you edit music video playlists on your iPhone/iPad/Apple TV and have it all sync correctly? Lastly, we already have an Amazon FireStick, which we use for watching Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo, Disney+, YouTube, etc. I would JUST be buying an Apple TV for watching music videos. Does that seem silly? Money is not a question, I'm just bringing this up in case there is another easy way to play my Apple Music music video playlists on my TV! Thank you so much!!! [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 08 May 2020 12:18 PM PDT When I use my Chromecast, I send a command from my phone to the Chromecast for Google to start streaming that content. The content is streamed through the device to my TV. I can close out the app I was using and the content keeps streaming. I can make or answer phone calls and the content keeps streaming. I can scroll through Reddit during the show and whatever video comes up doesn't hijack my TV. Is there a reason Apple doesn't work like this? If I am watching Hulu on my phone, then hit AirPlay to send it to my Apple TV where the Hulu app is installed, why can't it start streaming from the TV just like if I had started the stream there? Is this not technically possible? Or maybe it is possible and Apple just doesn't care like they don't care about incoming phone calls hijacking your screen. I hate that so many things interrupt AirPlay and make whatever I'm watching or listening to cut off. [link] [comments]  |
