- I can buy stuff on my computer with ApplePay and my watch. Or shop at the store and spend hundreds. But I haven’t figured out how to rent a movie on AppleTv without putting in a complex password. Surely there is a way to use my watch to verify, right?

| Apple TV AirPlay Audio to Sonos Playbase Posted: 15 May 2020 07:19 PM PDT I have an Apple TV4k, with the HDMI running to a Epson projector, both mounted behind my couch. I have been sending audio via Bluetooth to a 2.1 Logitech system on the other side of the room. Today, I upgraded to a Sonos Playbase. I got the Playbase with the intentions that I would be able to Airplay the audio out of my Apple TV to the Playbase, with the same functionality of using the Bluetooth. The problem is I cannot get any audio to route to the Playbase via the Apple TV. No navigation clicks, no music, no audio. I can AirPlay audio directly from my iPhone to the Playbase, but nothing if I airplay to the Apple TV which is playing to the Playbase. I dont know what I'm doing wrong, every forum I've researched said this was possible. TIA. [link] [comments]  |
| 4K Apple TV 64GB through old 4K TV Posted: 15 May 2020 10:28 PM PDT Hey there I recently moved house and the rental I moved into had this TV wall mounted and included. Having never had a 4K TV I'm immediately stoked and set up my Apple TV. However almost immediately I'm noticing that something is not working completely right and I'm getting almost a jolting effect where it's like a couple of frames are missing particularly when the camera is moving. I've already fiddled with the TV settings and turned off motion smoothing and all that sort of junk and every time I watch a bluray (not 4K) I have no issue, but a lot of things (some 4K stuff on Netflix, hired movies from iTunes) through my Apple TV I experience this weird jolting effect. I've messed around with the video output settings as well but can't seem to come up with anything that prevents this and I'm at a loss as to where to turn to next... Does anyone have any advice? However, I've just subscribed to a specialized, online fitness plan that doesn't have an app for streaming videos. Wondering if it's worth getting an Apple TV so that I can use AirPlay to stream them from my Macbook. Some of my questions: How well does AirPlay work? Will the playback look any good? What is the difference between the 32 and 64GB models? Should I consider replacing my Roku with it? I'm a little nervous about the latter because I mostly use my Roku to watch YouTube and I am concerned they will eventually phase it out on whichever box I get. Not sure I want to get locked into having to drop $200 every couple of years for a newer model. Thoughts? [link] [comments]  |

| I'm a little bit confused with the BTAS store page Posted: 15 May 2020 01:10 PM PDT So I'm looking at the old Batman the animated series on the Apple tv store and it seems a bit all over the place. The seasons seem to be split up in a really weird way. Firstly it says there are 5 seasons, when I only remember there ever being 4. Then the episode distribution seems all over the place, with about 60 in season 1 and 5 in season 4. Then if you try and buy the episodes by season you can only buy season 1,2 and 4 even though you can buy episodes from every season individually. Also When you buy season one as a block you dont seem to get all the episodes that are listed in season 1 on the store (you get the first 24, as opposed to the 60 listed). So am I just being stupid or is the store page for BTAS a bit all over the place? [link] [comments]  |
| [HELP] IR Control from iphone, Old reciever Posted: 15 May 2020 06:43 AM PDT I'm having trouble to control volume from my iPhone since i've upgraded to airplay 2. My setup is a bit weird, my reciever is an old HK amp. Here's how it works: HDMI audio+sound from atv4 to recent sony 4k TV, sound by toslink from the TV to toslink--> RCA DAC. This little box sends analog audio to my old amp and is controllable by IR, so with this setup I'm able to control volume remotely with the atv4 remote. If I disable Wifi on my iPhone I can control volume again but if I turn Wifi back on the volume bar gets greyed and I can't control it anymore Do you guys have any idea what I could change or add to my setup?
