Posted: 29 Apr 2020 04:56 PM PDT So my I got my iPhone 6 maybe a year and a half to 2 years ago, and while I was using it my screen went black. Seemed odd but I tried force restarting, powering on and off, yet the screen is still black. The phone turns on and I'm still able to do everything I was able to before. The screen is just black so I obviously can't see what I'm doing on it. Any advice? [link] [comments]  |

| How to use separate iPhones for personal and work with the same Apple ID? Posted: 29 Apr 2020 01:12 PM PDT Hello Reddit, I've been an iPhone user for over 5 years, currently with my XS. I finished up my college recently and have a lot of work needs on my phone, especially calls and WhatsApp. I got the XS when it launched especially for the dual sim, so that I can use separate numbers for work and personal. However, lately, it's not been enough differentiation and I've decided on getting an entirely separate phone, which is helped w a relatively inexpensive SE2 coming into the picture. I'm deep into the ecosystem so android wasn't an option for me, but I've a major concern which I've not been able to solve by googling. I want to know how I can set up that phone with the same Apple ID in a way that it doesn't sync data such as the messages or photos from my personal phone while still being able to sync data to iCloud which is natively on my work phone. I also want to know if I can use that phone w my Apple Watch since it's the same Apple ID or not. I'm from India, if that is relevant for the answers. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks! However, after restarting it and turning it back on, I was met with the usual "Hello" screen and a locked IPhone. The iPhone password does not match any other passwords I have (in length, it's 6 compared to my usual 4 number pin) and all my Touch ID's are gone. Anyone know why this happened and what I can do? | dropped iPhone X, cameras not working, options moving forward Posted: 29 Apr 2020 06:42 PM PDT Hi everyone! I have an iPhone X that fell from a kitchen counter to the ground this morning and now the Face ID, front camera, rear camera, and flash/flashlight don't work (both in the camera app and third-party camera apps). The screen just stays all black. I had some light cracks on the back from prior drops but no new cracks after this most recent one. I tried restarting, updating to iOS 13.4.1, reset all settings, force restarting, taking the SIM out and putting it back in again, and checking for water damage (just in case) inside the SIM card slot. The phone was purchased in mid-May last year off of eBay for personal use. There was only a three month warranty on the phone so it has expired now. Based on everything I've seen online it seems like it may be a hardware issue. Are there any other suggestions for troubleshooting before I look into repair options? Does repair even seem like a reasonable option at this point or is there likely to be more internal damage? Thank you for any insights!!! [link] [comments]  |

| Advice on offloading music app? Posted: 29 Apr 2020 01:14 PM PDT Hello everyone, I just have a (hopefully) simple question. I have a 64gb iPhone X (NQCL2LL/A) running on 13.3 currently. My iTunes music library is taking up about half of my storage. I was wondering if I go the route of going into storage settings, selecting the Music app, and then choosing "delete app" ("This will delete the app and all related data from this iPhone. This action cannot be undone."), if this will successfully place all of my music in the cloud and thus be available for me to download at my leisure once I redownload the music app? I pay the .99 for iCloud storage and all of the music I care about I got from iTunes. I'm just not sure if I'm misunderstanding this option, or if there's anything better/easier to do! In short, I would just like my music offloaded but am unsure if there is an easy way to do it other than going album by album. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments]  |
| Messages created on iPhone are missing contact name on iPad Posted: 29 Apr 2020 01:11 PM PDT Whenever a message is created on my iPhone, my iPad does not show the contact name. However if I create a message on my iPad, the contact name is shown. I've toggled on/off contacts on both devices to initiate a fetch for fresh contact data. This doesn't seem to be the issue because both devices have all my contacts in the contacts app. The problem seems isolated to where/which devices creates the message. Like I said, if I create the message on my iPad, my iPad is able to find the contact name. But if the message is created on my iPhone, the message shows as number only on my iPad. | Posted: 29 Apr 2020 12:20 PM PDT I keep getting alerts that my iCloud storage is almost full, and I found that 4.9 of my 5 GB of iCloud space is taken up. I looked into the Manage Storage tab and I found that 1.6 was a backup of my previous phone, the information from which was immediately downloaded onto my current phone after purchase. If I delete that backup, will the information on my current phone stay intact? [link] [comments]  |

| iPhone backup corrupt, need help. Posted: 29 Apr 2020 07:32 AM PDT so here's my predicament. My iPhone 6s plus was acting wonky so i decided to back it up, wipe it, and restore from backup. part of the issue i was having was it was showing wrong storage info, as well as it wouldn't let me import my photos or sync stuff to it from itunes. I got it to back up, which took some time as well. so I decided to wipe the phone after the backup was made and once the phone was a clean slate i would restore from backup. the problem is now it wont let me restore from backup, says the backup is corrupt and wont let me restore. my problem is that I not only had a bunch of apps the way i liked and it overall setup how I wanted, but it had several months of baby pictures and video of my 7 month old son which are gone. so does anyone know of a preferably free way to fix a corrupt backup? or restore my phone with said backup? with all this covid-19 shit going on I can't afford to be spending money on things like software, yet everything i've tried so far requires a purchase to fix or recover... thanks in advance for anyone's help [link] [comments]  |

I did a soft-reset, but that did not help. Now it takes a while until it gives any positions and it is extremely imprecise, perhaps because it only relies on cell tower IDs for localization now? Could it be that the GPS antenna detached from the car's vibrations, or something similar? I did not drop or disassemble it recently. [link] [comments]  |
| Bluetooth connection to car suddenly not supported Posted: 29 Apr 2020 06:38 AM PDT iPhone XS Max, iOS 13.4.1 I have a Honda Odyssey without Carplay. Since I've had it, I could connect via Bluetooth to plat audio over the van's speakers. All of a sudden, I'm getting "The accessory may not be supported" errors every 30 seconds on the phone which makes having Maps useless since the screen freezes until I clear the error. What's also strange is that it's still connecting properly and I can listen to audio like usual; it's just the errors on the phone that have never happened before. Nothing is plugged into the phone's Lightning port; it's connected via Bluetooth. I've tried the obvious solutions: restarting the phone, deleting and pairing the phone again, but it hasn't helped. This has worked perfectly for five years, why is it suddenly no longer working? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 29 Apr 2020 04:36 AM PDT I have yet to find a definitive description of what exactly this does.I am a former android user and android would always default to wifi if connected over cellular data. Is this not the case with iphone?,and if so why not? I want the phone to automatically use wifi when connected,I do not want to tell it everytime.As of know I have apps that need updating but dont want to as I dont know what it is going to use to download.
