Posted: 29 Apr 2020 04:16 PM PDT This is extremely frustrating and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Sometimes when I open the virtual remote, the +/- 10 second buttons are there, but other times they are not. And whenever the buttons aren't there, tapping where they usually are only pauses and plays whatever I'm watching on Netflix. Why is it designed like this? How do I summon these part-time buttons on a full-time basis? [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Apr 2020 04:37 AM PDT Over the past two weeks my Apple TV has been losing the wifi connection regularly. Yesterday it stopped accepting the wifi password, and I can't make it accept it. Now nothing works. It won't link up via Ethernet either...help! [link] [comments]
Confused on how Screen Mirroring works for Apple TV Posted: 30 Apr 2020 04:31 AM PDT I'm thinking on getting and Apple TV just for Screen Mirroring and maybe actually using it because I got Apple TV for free for only 6 months, if I'm watching a tv show not from my country on my phone and the quality that I can have is up to 1080p 60fps will the quality stay the same when I use Screen Mirroring? Note: I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max Also I don't know if I need a specific TV to use Apple TV. I'm completely new to all this, sorry for any frustration or confusion I may have caused. Purchased TV Shows not showing up in Library (Samsung TV Apple TV App) Posted: 30 Apr 2020 01:32 AM PDT I own a number of TV shows on iTunes/Apple TV. When I go into iTunes on Mac, they all show up. When I go into Apple TV on iPhone/iPad, they all show up. When I access TV shows via my Apple TV 4k, again, they all show up. However, when I access the TV shows section of my library via the Apple TV app on BOTH of my Samsung smart TVs, only one of my purchased shows actually shows up. This is absurd. This only started happening today. I've contacted Samsung support who proved less than useless. I've reset Apple TV App, I've signed out and signed back in, reset the TVs, even factory reset both TVs. Nope, still no fix. Any idea as to why this might be happening? [link] [comments]

Home sharing won’t play in Surround, TV+ does Posted: 30 Apr 2020 01:28 AM PDT My AppleTV (3rd Gen) is connected to an older Yamaha Surround System via optical cable. I have a lot of mkv movies which I converted into mp4. The mp4 files in the Library of my Mac Mini still have 6 Channel Audio, but when I play them on Apple TV through Home Sharing, I don't get any surround. When I play some Apple TV+, I do get surround. I am running out of ideas what the problem could be, but I am sure my Apple TV and Surround System are configured correctly. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Apr 2020 09:14 AM PDT ive been using nowtv on my mac for catch up services for a few movies and tv catchups. i discovered it has an apple tv app - great. i downloaded it. however, i soon discovered its actually one of the most poorly designed and thought out apps ive ever used. firstly, the app design looks like its from an apple tv 3. secondly, theres no up-next or continue watching. so this means, if i watch something on the mac, or ipad, i cant pick up and resume like netflix. i have to manually search for the tv show and remember the episode number and name im on. its archaic! thirdly, theres no tv app integration either, which was a longshot anyway. in comparison to their iphone and ipad app, it is years behind in terms of design and usability. upon searching, it seems like people were having the same [complaints])https://community.nowtv.com/t5/Set-top-boxes-Smart-TVs/Update-Now-TV-app-for-apple-TV/td-p/366659) that i have. i know complaining on reddit doesnt really do anything, so ive dropped now tv support a note with my concerns anyway. Apple TV 4k or wait for the rumoured 2020 model? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 01:01 AM PDT I want to get an Apple TV, and the 4k seems like a great option. My television does not have 4k or HDR capability, but I would rather get the 4k version rather than HD when I eventually get a new television in a few years. However, I have heard that there is a new Apple TV model coming this year. Is it worth it to wait? Or will the COVID-19 situation mean that even if there were a new model coming out this year, it would be delayed? TL,DR: I want an Apple TV, should I get the 4k or wait for the new one? Posted: 29 Apr 2020 10:33 PM PDT If the wireless audio sync always has to run through my tv's speakers, how the heck would it be able to synchronize audio through my Airplay 2 speakers? Seems like sort of a half-baked feature; the docs on apple.com explicitly say to use it to synchronize airplay or bluetooth speakers; but then says it always runs through TV speakers only. Am I missing something or is this BS? How could it possibly be calibrating for the airplay delay without using those speakers? [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Apr 2020 12:03 PM PDT Purchased the Big Bang Theory complete series. So many issues that is pure Apple laziness. Complete series (this is probably the 3rd I've purchased) need to be fixed. They don't tie into "up next". What actually happens is the UI knows what episode is next but they pull it from the individual seasons in iTunes, so if you're not paying attention you'll buy a single episode since for whatever reason it won't pull in the episode from the full series you just bought. The complete series are pushed as one continuous season. SO, you have no options to toggle between seasons and you literally have to scroll every single episode to get to where you want to watch since AppleTV has no memory when it comes to complete series in your library. I've even tried editing all the info in itunes, which will now show properly, but has zero impact on how AppleTV displays any info. Am I just an idiot and missing something or is this just Apple being incredibly lazy? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Apr 2020 01:16 PM PDT My Apple TV 4K suddenly won't play audio from movies playing in Netflix, Disney Plus, Movies Anywhere, or the Apple TV app. I do get the sound when I move the 'cursor' around each of the apps, but as soon as I start a movie there is no sound. It works fine in other apps like YouTube, Plex. I've unplugged, restarted, and rebooted to no avail. Anyone having an issue with this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Apr 2020 05:47 AM PDT I am looking for the simplest budget priced sound bar, preferably under $200. I want to be able to just connect and not have to mess with it. Doesn't have to be Bluetooth. I use my AppleTV to play music a lot and some movies and just want an upgrade from the TV speakers. Not looking to rattle the windows or spend a lot of money. Thanks [link] [comments]
Hardware Failure / Troubleshooting Posted: 29 Apr 2020 10:51 AM PDT I think that my 4k Apple TV may have bitten the dust, but I'm looking for potential ways of troubleshooting. It has started to randomly power off and powering back on becomes problematic afterward. I've previously tried a number of things such as disabling automatic updates and background refresh to no avail. Are there any other recommended ways of troubleshooting or diagnosing hardware issues with the device? [link] [comments]
[Help] Is Bose Solo 5 compatibile with TV? Posted: 29 Apr 2020 10:12 AM PDT Hey I've an TV HD and my question is: if I buy a Bose Solo 5, would they work together? Thanks in advance for your help. If you want you can also suggest my other soundbars [link] [comments]
Amazon HD video purchase not in 4K / Dolby Vision when played through Apple TV App Posted: 29 Apr 2020 09:53 AM PDT Yes, I have a 4K ... for example - recently bought Harry Potter 1 on Amazon for $6.99 - yes it's HD on amazon when you purchase it. However, other content that was HD only usually then plays in the higher format 4K/DV when played from the Apple TV / iTunes Movies apps. What is strange is the details show it as having DV - but it will only seem to play in HD. [link] [comments]
Apple TV Public IP Is Different Posted: 29 Apr 2020 08:46 AM PDT I just installed Speedtest.net on my Apple TV and I'm confused on why the public IP showed on the app is different than the public IP that's on my router. I have 2 Apple TV and both has this different IP. It's driving me crazy and I can't find the reason why. Also internet speed on both Apple TVs are half of what my other devices get which I assume is because of these strange IPs. I checked my router and there's nothing there that could cause this. Is this happening to anyone else? [link] [comments]
I have Apple TV+ but still have to pay for everything Posted: 29 Apr 2020 01:03 PM PDT I got a new phone in January and today I was notified it was last day to redeem my fee Apple TV for 1 year. So I did with no time to lose and got my confirmation email. But now, I'm trying to watch space ghost and it seems everything still needs to be paid for Why? [link] [comments] |
