| Posted: 27 Apr 2020 07:49 PM PDT Hi all - my phone has essentially become entirely unusable at this point. I've deleted almost everything on my phone aside from around 15-17 gb of data and my phone capacity is 128gb. "Other" currently takes up about 85% of my phone and 'system' is currently sitting at a whopping 112 gb. I have an iPhone X. I have done EVERYTHING I've seen recommended on every post about this issue. Is a factory reset my only option at this point? [link] [comments]  |
| Best phone for taking pictures of my cat Posted: 27 Apr 2020 01:22 PM PDT I still have my iPhone seven and i love it, i see no reason to upgrade EXCEPT...a friend takes such good pictures of cats with her fancy portrait mode. I'm fine getting an older model, i don't need the newest phone (obviously). But i want to take adorable cat photos, my current camera is not doing her justice. So I open it up recconect the wires then the screen is changes from black to white and the lines changed from green to black to white. Soo I tried a hard reset and it wont turn on now. When i take a picture on snapchat its like the screen glitches and moves down, so the send and save to memories buttons are moved down and off of the screen, making me unable click on them. I have restarted my phone, logged out and in on snap, deleted and re-downloaded the app, submitted support requests, made sure my iphone and snapchat app are all on the most recent updates, and anything else I could think of. | iPad Pro Screen Coming Off... Now iPad Seems Dead Posted: 27 Apr 2020 02:38 PM PDT I noticed my iPad Pro screen was starting to come up in the lower left corner. I took the iPad out of the hard case to get a closer look, which I guess was a mistake, because as I was taking it out the screen went black and now it's totally unresponsive. i tried plugging it in to my computer to see if it would show up, and nothing. I suspect that part of the issue is with a bad repair job. I had the screen replaced about a year ago. The home button has never worked right since then, it's depressed and only works for fingerprint ID, which means I can't hold it down along with the power button to reset. I went ahead and removed the screen and found that when it separated, it disconnected the LCD ribbons, so I reconnected those and closed it back up. However it still won't turn on. But I might take a chance (won't sound like much of a big leap) but I'm thinking about trying out an iphone. But only a very cheap / older Iphone. Almost as a test or sampling how iphones work. Can anyone suggest what Iphone I should get? I keep hearing mostly iphone 5 or 6,6s or even possibly the 7? My only requirements are that it must be in the $50 to $90 range (I would be buying it from amazon, or craigslist or something used for sure.) Also I want it to have solid battery life (which I love about iphones) and needs to be able to handle apps well. Thinks like facebook live, or cam streaming sites, skype type of apps. | Posted: 27 Apr 2020 10:43 AM PDT I'm actually asking for my father, who's in California (I'm in NYC) so I can't help him directly. He's been having super fast battery drain and trying everything that he can to deal with it (factory resetting, turning off bluetooth/data/FaceID/etc.) and tracking battery usage to see what the culprit is. He'll be down to 70% in ~3 hours without using any of the above services and some light texting/a phone call. Apple sent him a new phone, same issue arising. I'm wondering if there are some apps that can drain battery *without* being noticed by the Battery Usage Monitor? I'm suggesting that he factory reset and then manually reinstall apps, 1-by-1, though I feel bad that he's having to do that. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]  |

| Instagram notifications not working Posted: 27 Apr 2020 08:48 AM PDT Hey guys, so I just realized that my Instagram push notifications are not working, like at all. I've tried the whole uninstall app process, updating the phone, restarting it, making sure the background app refresh on, Turing off do not disturb. And making sure they are on in my phone notification settings and in the Instagram app itself. I just have no idea as to why they just won't push through. | Transferring texts to new iPhone Posted: 27 Apr 2020 12:48 AM PDT Hello, two days ago I upgraded to an iPhone XR from an iPhone 6s. I used the old phone to set up the new phone so everything should have transferred over. The only thing I'm having an issue with is texts. Only about half of my texts transferred to the new phone and I'm missing about a year and a half of texts. I checked to make sure that the messages option is on in iCloud settings on both devices, and the 6s model was backed up to iCloud the same day I upgraded. I also pay for extra iCloud storage so that wouldn't be an issue. How can I get the remaining texts on my phone? [link] [comments]  |
