Disable map notification every time I get in the car Posted: 07 Apr 2020 11:59 PM PDT When I get in the car I get a notification from maps both in my phone and watch. This is getting annoying as I never need it. How do I disable this function? [link] [comments] |
Iphone not charging/loose connection. Posted: 08 Apr 2020 02:23 AM PDT As stated in the title my IphoneSE had a loose connection, would only charge if the lead was pushing in and held a certain way. Anyway I looked online and the first video that came said use a toothpick to clean it. Well I did and now its not charging at all, no matter what way I hold it. If I take to a repair shop will it be an easy fix? Can I do it at home? [link] [comments] |

Issue with options being blank when sharing/exporting photos or videos Posted: 07 Apr 2020 10:30 PM PDT I have an iPhone 11 Pro and I've had it for about 6 months. I've never had this issue before but this issue just started today. When I'm in my photo album, and I press the share button, the Share Sheet that would pop up is completely blank. Usually there would be options to send it to specific apps or email it etc. this is the same when I try to save a picture off of Twitter or other specific apps. I turned my phone off and on multiple times. I also just updated my phone to iOS 13.4.1 but the issue is still there. I hope this is there's just a fix I've been blind to but any information would help. Thank you. Edit: Just learned that what I was referring to is the called the "Share Sheet" [link] [comments] |

My iPhone 7 Plus phone app, mail, internet buttons keep moving to new spot. Posted: 07 Apr 2020 06:39 PM PDT Ok, this just started happening yesterday. I'm running iOS 13.3.1. My phone app has always been lower left of my screen....yesterday all of a sudden my phone app is on the lower right. I didn't re-arrange anything, it just appeared that way. So...I put them back. Now today mid-day after using the phone all day, BAM....it's back to the lower right. WTF? Any help is much appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Iphone 6 issue with Albums and Camera roll Posted: 07 Apr 2020 04:31 PM PDT I have an Iphone 6 iOS version 12.4.5, recently the albums and camera roll were always ordered chronologically but most recently its started showing my earliest photos like 20 photos from the last one and in reverse order. I'm not sure what changed but I can't get it to display the order chronologically correct as before. Anyone have any solutions? [link] [comments] |
AOL/AIM mail not syncing to my phone for the past month! Posted: 07 Apr 2020 02:47 PM PDT Up to date, iPhone XS. I've been happy with the regular iOS mail app forever. Recently my e-mail stopped updating. I have an AIM.com email. I deleted my acc from iOS to try and start over and now my inbox will not sync. It appears empty on iOS... I can send e-mails though... I did one time get sent messages to appear but not sure how. I tried Outlook app but that doesn't sync either. I do have another aim.com account that seems to sync though. Not sure why. I do not have two factor authentication turned on on either account but tried it and it made no difference. I've tried everything! Any ideas? [link] [comments] |

iPhone XR Not Showing Text Msg Notifications Posted: 07 Apr 2020 10:36 AM PDT Hello I am running an iPhone XR with software version 13.3.1. I bought this phone from a Verizon kiosk at Costco in early 2019. The issue I am having is I am not receiving any notification when I receive a text message, regardless of sender. 'Allow Notifications' is on. Lock screen, notification center, and banners are on. Banner style is temporary. I am not sure what has caused this issue but I have had the issue for about a week now. I receive all other types of notifications I have enabled. I have double and triple checked that I have notifications ON for messages. Airplane mode is off. Do not Disturb is off. I have turned off the phone and turned it back on multiple times with a few minutes in between. [link] [comments] |
Options button not working, making apps unresponsive Posted: 07 Apr 2020 01:22 AM PDT Hi r/iphonehelp, I'm looking for some help solving an issue with my iPhone XR. Apologies for the wall of text, but I'm unable to find any issues similar to mine anywhere on the internet, and I've never had an issue with my XR until now. I honestly don't even know what else I could google, as none of my searches so far have yielded any results. I'm currently running 13.4, but this bug occurred in whatever iOS version that preceded it. My issue is in reference to the icon with the box with an arrow pointing up, typically used as a share or an options tab. You can find it in most apps. When I press on the options icon, a blank pop-up shows up where your normal "Save Image", "Copy", "Print", etc. options would be found. Whichever app I'm using at the time then becomes very slow and unresponsive until I force close it. It's actually kinda hard to describe what I mean, so I tried to screen record it to give you guys an idea: See that here This has been the case for every app I have tried it for. Every app becomes very delayed and choppy until I swipe up on it, but it doesn't affect anything outside of the app I pressed the options icon on. The rest of the phone operates smoothly. I've already tried a few of the common troubleshooting methods. Obviously the first thing I tried was a few basic on/off resets, which didn't do anything. Following that, I did a settings reset which also ended up not making a difference. After that I realized I had a software update (13.4) but it didn't solve the issue either. It would seem that my next step would be to back up my data and do a factory reset on the phone. I figured I'd post here though, to see if anyone else has dealt with this bug and if there's any way I can fix it without having to reset it. I have no idea what triggered it, so I'm not even sure if the factory reset will work or not. Any input would definitely be appreciated. TL;DR: https://imgur.com/a/11BB6lP
Thank you guys in advance and stay safe! [link] [comments] |

iPhone/iPad/etc. lightning port problems Posted: 07 Apr 2020 02:23 AM PDT I do a moderate amount of tech support, and one repeating theme is iPhones which won't charge or don't get recognized by a computer. 1.) Computers: usually (maybe 75%) I can either swap out the cable or boot the device into recovery mode and the computer will recognize it. Otherwise, it simply won't recognize the device at all even if I follow a link such as this. Does anyone have additional suggestions how to get an iPhone to be recognized by a computer? Why will recovery mode sometimes work while the regular boot doesn't? If you have to go into a more "developer"-ish explanation that's fine, the more info the better. 2.) Charging: this is more just basic connectivity (I think). But first here's a nice little table. I believe this is the voltage/current for various plugs, please correct me if I have something wrong: Port | Voltage | Current :-- | :-- | :-- USB 1.1/2 | 5V | 500mA USB 3.0 | 5V | 900mA USB 3.1 | 5-20V | 500mA - 5A Thunderbolt | 18V | 550mA Anyway, on to the specific questions: - Is there a minimum wattage required for different iDevices to start charging? Why will a device sometimes start charging when plugged into a computer but not get recognized by the computer? - Any suggestions regarding cables? Will certain devices only recognize on newer ones (USB3/Thunderbolt)? I know some devices can use 12V power sources, does using a regular 5V @ 500mA connection affect anything other than charging/transfer speed? - I've heard putting the phone in Airplane mode can increase the speed it charges, are there any other settings I should know about? - I've seen iPhones that get completely discharged (e.g., flashlight gets left on) which won't detect they're plugged in. Then I just leave it plugged in for ~24hrs in the unresponsive state and voila, it's charged again. Is there some chip on devices which needs power to be able to run the notifications that show the thing is plugged in (sorry if that wording is a bit confusing)? 3.) Fixing Ports: well this post is a little bit longer than I expected. Guess there's more I'm confused about than I realized. Anyway, this is the question I came here to ask. Why do these ports seem to have so many problems? I've had miniUSB devices which work just fine for years, yet I go through (relatively speaking) a TON of lightning cables. Are the cables just not very durable? Any tips to maintaining these ports? Ways to fix them aside from replacing the lightning port itself or replacing the cable? [link] [comments] |
