"Your Optus account is not eligible to enable mobile data on your Apple Watch" Posted: 22 Apr 2020 04:00 AM PDT Carrier: Optus (Australia) As per the Subject title of this post, I am facing an incredibly persistent error when trying to set up the cellular functionality of my Apple Watch. Devices in question are iPhone 7 Plus and Apple Watch series 4, 44mm, GPS + cellular. I've been in contact with Optus twice and Apple twice. Getting nowhere. Optus advises that the my account is eligible for use with the Apple watch, and that everything looks good on their end. A store rep changed some settings on my service today to see if that might work, with no luck. Troubleshooting has been so far: - upated both devices to the latest OS - reset network settings on iPhone - unpaired and factory reset watch, 3 times - turned on VoLTE in mobile data settings on iPhone - acquired and activated a brand new SIM card for this service - pulled out half of the hair on my head - thrown phone at wall (almost) I've seen and read through forums of users experiencing similar issues - no working solution has been found for my case. I will create a chat in the myoptus app (when it's working) and ask to escalate to the activation team. I'm sick of the back and forth. Is anyone here able to provide some insight, instructions or information that might help me out with this? Literally any help is appreciated at this point. Cheers, Will [link] [comments]
AW4 overnight battery drain occasionally Posted: 22 Apr 2020 06:32 AM PDT I've been using AutoSleep with my AW4 successfully for about a year. I charge my watch in the morning and sometimes, if needed, around 7pm. Lately been seeing occasional mornings waking up to being in power reserve. I also notice that it reboots before showing the green or red "snake" screen. Last night I went to bed with 85% barge and this morning in power reserve! I do not see evidence of auto-started workouts. I do use theater mode. No podcasts or any other usage to my knowledge occurring overnight. Also, this morning my watch on charger woke up at 15% and 15 minutes later I checked and it was at 50%! I've also see it wake up from power reserve at like 35% on past days. Had my battery health checked at Apple store a few months ago and no issues reported from the diagnostic. From what I read, no other way to check battery health. And with COVID-19 Apple stores are currently closed. I have hard reset, unpaired but problem still occurring occasionally. Help! Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]

Battery replacement for Apple Watch SS S0 Posted: 22 Apr 2020 06:38 AM PDT Hi all, I was wondering if Apple still does battery replacement for Apple Watch SS S0. I may have heard they are replacing by a S0 but I wanted a confirmation in case if someone has been able to get an upgrade :) To be honest, it's really slow, some activity badges don't even show up (for monthly challenges for instance) and I'm doing some workout, the battery dies by the end of the day. Don't know if getting an identical replacement improves battery life significantly and maybe general performance of the watch. If anybody has some insights, would be really helpful before I request Apple to get my battery (and the watch seems like) replaced. Thanks!! [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Apr 2020 06:23 AM PDT Is there a way to share all the workout info or data from a single workout. It appears you can share all workouts with another AW owner, but I only want to share a single wo with a non AW owner. [link] [comments]

Remote heart rate monitoring and text messages for family? Posted: 22 Apr 2020 08:58 AM PDT Family member is home from the hospital after a month in the ICU. We'd like to remotely monitor their heart rate and most importantly get a text message if it is too high or too low. Is this possible? My research leads me to believe Cardiogram premium is pretty close, but wanted to see if there were any other suggestions. [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Apr 2020 08:52 AM PDT I just bought a Series 3 yesterday and I've been using WillyWeather on my phone for quite a while. I noticed under complications that WillyWeather is listed but don't see it selectable when I choose complications on my modular face. Am I misunderstanding? Does anyone know how to use the WillyWeather complication? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Advise on removable hard shells? Posted: 22 Apr 2020 08:48 AM PDT I just joined this sub the other day and am awaiting my 38mm series 3 (first Apple Watch). I've been searching all kinds of threads on this sub. Good stuff. I geek out pretty hard over new tech, so I've been looking at accessories to order as I wait. I will be using this watch for sport and day to day. For day to day stuff I don't want any screen protector or case. But, if I go on a trail run, I could trip and break the watch. I'm not getting apple care. If it was one of the $500+ watches, I may have considered. I ordered a $5 snap on hard shell from ebay. Matte plastic rim and tempered glass screen cover. I plan to snap it on for the rougher activities. Does anyone have positive of negative experience with that kind of peripheral? (I also ordered a knock off sport loop, from a brand I saw recommended here. I'm allergic to nickel and that type of band also seems more secure) [link] [comments]

Ideas to optimize battery life and is this normal? S5 Posted: 21 Apr 2020 11:32 PM PDT Hi! New AW owner here... I just got a S5 primarily for use to track my daily activity and to use while running/exercising. I go for 1.5-2 hr cross country runs every day and I was surprised to run out of battery before the end of my run today. I had put it on from the charger at 8 am and it was at 61% when I left the house. I use the Intervals Pro app and listen to music on airpods during my run. Is there a way to optimize battery life? Is this normal activity to get out of a full charge, or will I have to charge to 100% prior to exercising? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
