- Apples HD titles automatically upgraded to 4K. Will they be in 4K on my Roku?
- Disney Plus on ATV4K been noticing really blotchy video quality these last few days. I have a 1G pipe and everything else is spiffy fast. What gives?

Netflix app with terrible quality Posted: 23 Apr 2020 03:00 AM PDT Hi, I've got Apple TV 4K. When I'm using Netflix app it's okay in first 2 minutes. Then the quality drops down, it looks like 240p resolution. I've tried using Ethernet, different hdmi cable, different settings in video. After that I've tried Netflix app on my Samsung Smart TV and everything works great, awesome quality, high resolution. Why there's a problem with Apple TV and Netflix app? I've set up my ATV to 4K SDR and auto match the dynamic range. I don't know what should I do. :( [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Apr 2020 01:33 AM PDT Hello folks, first time here. we have a pretty new smart TV, and the other day our internet provider gave us an AppleTV 4K for free to use, we were excited to hook it up, but then we were confused... the smart TV already has a AppleTV app installed that seems the same as the AppleTV box, e.g. you still have to pay for the movies and shows, ok there is some extra functions such as display photos that we took and very pretty screen saver, but i don't care about them. so is there basically no point of having an AppleTV when you have a smart TV already? I'm not sure yet curious what a new Apple TV, other than for gaming, could offer vs the current gen? Would it be able to offer better visual quality? Better upscaling from 1080p to 4k? I've read Apple TV titles are automatically upgraded to 4K if you own the HD variant. But will I be able to stream it on my Roku device in 4K? I have the Apple TV app on my Roku device. Thanks! Posted: 23 Apr 2020 01:51 AM PDT I have a new Apple TV HD (4th Generation) but when I set it up I immediately noticed both Home Sharing and Multi-User weren't working properly. The issue with Multi-User on my TV is, my user is not showing its full profile picture. Another problem with Multi-User is the rest of the profiles in my Home (this is connected to our Home) are not showing up on the new Apple TV (this is partly true for another Apple TV we have). Posted: 22 Apr 2020 07:14 PM PDT What's with the terrible YouTube quality/bitrate at the moment. Not channel specific, just terrible quality across all video's as if it is lowering the quality to deal with a poor internet connection (which is sitting at 675mb/s so that's not the issue). It's been much worse during COVID-19 but it's normal quality when streamed through my LG TV app so seems to be AppleTV related. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 22 Apr 2020 02:26 PM PDT I'm a US resident visiting family in the UK & when I tried to sign into my Apple TV it said it would send a verification code - which it did to my mobile - & that I would need to input it into the Apple TV - which I wanted to do - but the only option in the screen was 'Ok' middle button and when I pressed that it took me straight back to the beginning of the login to iTunes Store. Do I need to buy a VPN set up to use while traveling and can two Apple TV's - my one I the US and the one I use to travel with be logged into my account simultaneously? 1 year free only works on my iPhone Posted: 22 Apr 2020 04:41 PM PDT I just bought a new Mac and got the 1 year free Apple TV+ I signed up on my iPhone. It works perfectly there but not on my mac on the app. Im signed in on the same account and when I try to watch anything it's says I need to buy it even though it says I've got Apple tv+ for a year in the account settings. Pause button not working on Apple TV 4K Posted: 22 Apr 2020 11:51 AM PDT Since a couple of months, the Pause button on my Siri Remote AND in the Apple TV Remote app are suddenly stopped working on the Apple TV 4K. I can only pause video's by clicking the touchpad, but I CAN resume playing when pressing the Play/Pause button. So only the pause function isn't working anymore. The light on the Apple TV IS blinking when I press the button. The only temporary solution is to pull the plug and completely restart the Apple TV, but after a couple of days it stops functioning again. I've also retried restoring the Apple TV to factory settings, but that didn't work. Because it also occurs when using the Apple TV Remote app, it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue. Do more people have this issue and do you guys know any more possible solutions? I also have an Apple TV HD, but it appears it only affects the 4K model. It also applies to all the streaming apps (YouTube, Netflix, Apple TV app, etcetera). [link] [comments] |
