Why is alarm volume linked to notification volume? Posted: 07 Apr 2020 03:28 AM PDT I feel like this probably the stupidest oversight. Some of us don't want our ears blown off when we get texts but want to be woken up by our alarms. Like how annoying is this??? [link] [comments]
Don't use Edison email app to do this!!! Posted: 06 Apr 2020 06:06 PM PDT I recently was waiting for a customer service reply from a company I bought something from. After a couple days of waiting I checked my spam folders to see if a reply had gone there. I ended up finding the reply in the trash, without ever getting an alert of any kind. I did some digging and found out I had about 50 "Blocked Addresses" in the filters section of my Gmail account that I never created. Doing some more digging I realized Edison email app and Apple's Mail app are the only two services I've used that offer an "unsubscribe" option in the email itself without having to click unsubscribe at the bottom of the email. I tested it out, and yes, Edison email app doesn't actually unsubscribe the user from receiving emails from that sender, it simply creates a block for that email address so no more emails of any kind from that business will ever get through to you whether you like it or not. So be advised not to use the unsubscribe feature in that app unless you're absolutely sure you never want to receive any kind of email from that company ever again. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Apr 2020 11:49 PM PDT So I'm literally missing online classes in the morning because my alarm doesn't go off. I'm using an iPhone 6s. This can't happen again, how do I fix it. [link] [comments]
How can an app identify me after deletion? Posted: 07 Apr 2020 08:31 AM PDT IOS 13.4 I installed an app and registered as a user. Then I logged out, and deleted the app from my phone. Now I redownloaded the app from the App Store started the app, and find my email address prefilled in the login form. How is it possible?
Both options sound horrible! In case it's answer 1, I thought Apple doesn't allow that! In case it's answer 2, how can I delete all app data manually? [link] [comments]

Can 3rd party apps create background processes? Posted: 07 Apr 2020 07:25 AM PDT For example on android, apps you download from the store, once launched for the first time are able to permanently place a background process in your memory that will always stay on even if you force close the app or If you reboot the phone. The background process goes away only by deleting the app. You could say that some apps are in fact always running as these processes they create have become quite big in size (100mb+) How do things function on ios? Can one only guess? Task managers do not exist on the appstore. Can jailbroken users see much at all? Lets say i have "background app refresh" option disabled and notifications disabled for a specific app on my iPhone, i have used that app in the past but now it has been dormant on my phone for some days, would that app be able to create a small process in my RAM and run even if I don't open that app at all? Can anyone recommend an app to geotag photos on a map? Posted: 06 Apr 2020 04:38 PM PDT It's a seemingly simple concept, but one I'm having a lot of difficulty finding an app for! All I want is an app that shows photos tagged on a map based on where those photos were taken. I know IOS shows all photos from my phone on a map already, but I want to select which photos to show on the map. Here's all I'm looking for in an app: - Has option to take photo/upload photo to map - A map-view that shows all the images based on where they were taken - Does not pull all photos from phone to the app - The map with my photos is private (or public if I decide to share my map) - (Optional) Add members to map so they can tag photos as well. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]

Help! Add Multitasking/Split Screen to iOS Posted: 06 Apr 2020 10:42 PM PDT Anyone else think Apple should add a similar multitasking split screen feature that is optional to iPhones like they have for iPads? Pros: -Watch YouTube videos/podcasts and take notes -Have FaceTime conferences while reading a document or browse safari -Use the calculator app without having to go back and forth to make sure the equation is correct -Browse multiple websites -Browse Instagram and Twitter at the same time -Reply to texts/emails without an app having to reload -Edit pictures while using a referenced picture or original -Enter data into sheets/excel without going back and forth (I'm sure you can think of other uses as well) Con: May impact battery life But if a $100 android can run clash of clans or whatever game people play nowadays and YouTube simultaneously for 8+ hours I'm pretty sure the new iPhones should have these capabilities without a major dent in battery life. It's embarrassing to pay for a $1000+ iPhone and know that a $100 Android is a more productive device in the aspect of multitasking. If you agree and would like to see this added as an optional feature in the next iOS update please take 2mins and make a suggestion to Apple: https://www.apple.com/feedback/ [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Apr 2020 10:21 PM PDT As IOS 14 is coming later this year and there is rumours of Apple adding a feature to be able to replace default apps what apps are you gonna be changing? I'm definitely making Spotify my default music app instead of Apple Music. What will become your default internet app and whah other apps will you be changing? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Apr 2020 07:25 PM PDT I've had this problem where randomly all the apps in the background gets killed while one app is being used on previous iOS 13 versions. It was still present on 13.3.3, so I did a clean install of iOS 13.3.3 and that seemed to have fixed the ram management problem. But after updating to iOS 13.4, I'm still having the problem where all the apps are being closed in the background with a little use of one or other apps. I tried doing a clean install again hoping for it to fix the problem but it didn't work this time. This is really frustrating. It might be my bad battery which is at 78% of its health right now so I don't really know what's causing this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. iPhone X [link] [comments]
