    Photos: Download from iCloud but don’t upload?

    Hey everyone, Meeting up my new Mac. Is it possible to have the photos app download all photos from iCloud but not upload any of the current ones in my photo library?

    I have a 200GB iCloud sub, which is more than enough for my phone and iPad, but not nearly enough for my entire photo library. I'd like to keep all of my old photos in my photo library (on my mac), while having all new photos taken on my phone or iPad add to that.

    Is this possible? What settings should I choose?

    Splitcam has no sound when play video !

    Hi guys, i have used Splitcam just today and it work nice, but the problem is when i choose Video and import my video, it play but there is no sound, i my friend from another pc who i contact with through webcam can't hear to although my video has audio, how to fixx that ?

    This isn’t really a drastic problem but more of a minor annoyance, for some unknown reason my phone has been displaying the current year like this, does anybody have any idea how to fix this?

    Just got the newest iPad yesterday and I'm trying to play music while drawing in ibis. No matter what I do the music will either pause automatically or a few seconds after switching to ibis from spotify or Apple music.

    Is a 2012 MacBook Air still worth to buy?

    I saw an offer for a used 2012 MacBook Air 13.3" ,4gb RAM and 128gb SSD it costs about 200€. It seems like it's in a good condition. I really like the MacBook Air because of its slim design, but as a student I am not able to afford a newer one. I would only use this MacBook for things like e-Mails, Netflix and Office. Do you think that it is still powerful enough? Especially concerning the battery.. Thanks for your answers

    iCloud backup lost after iCloud plan downgrade

    Hello all,

    I just lost all my precious photos because I forgot to change the payment of my iCloud plan...

    Got downgraded to 5gb and my iCloud no longer has the photos. Is the backup with the photos also lost because of the lost space?

So, can you help me to understand, does iPad 2020 11'' support latest Pencil? And second question, should i get Cellular version of iPad, or it's ok to use iPhone as hotspot?

    On pandemic Skype call with family- This just happened, spilled maybe quarter glass of wine on right side of laptop and screen turned pink and sound went off! Wtf do I do now?? Turn it off?? Rice?? Thanks!

    Brand New Macbook Air 2020 Wifi Constantly Dropping

    Hi everyone! I recently (this afternoon) received my first ever personal Macbook, and I'm having a lot of problems just trying to set it up. At this point I'm considering just returning it and buying another PC, but I wanted to give troubleshooting it a fair shot.

    From the out-of-the-box setup, I attempted the wifi file migration from my Windows 10 laptop. I don't have any cables that would help, so I didn't mind waiting for the super slow wifi transfer. I babysat the laptops for a while and kept them out of sleep mode, but when I went to do other things and returned later, they were both asleep. Upon awakening, the migration had stalled as the wifi had dropped. Since I was still in the setup screen on the Mac, I couldn't find a way to reconnect it, and had to cancel the migration.

    The setup completed with only some of my files migrated, and no way to continue migrating without starting over and creating a duplicate user (I'd also love help with that...)

    However, despite having the correct password and being set to save password, my wifi connection dropped every few minutes and required me to enter the password again (often multiple times), saying the connection failed. I followed online instructions to set a new location to stabilize the connection, which worked--until my laptop went to sleep again. After awakening, the same issues resumed even with the new location.

    My theory is that the connection issues after awakening from sleep are what disrupted the migration in the first place, which I think means that this is a problem that has nothing to do with any of my files or settings, since the computer was literally brand new at that point.

    Some other information that may be helpful:

    • The brand new Air is running Catalina 10.15.4 with the latest update (just updated it half an hour ago, did not fix anything)

    • I don't have anything plugged in that could cause interference. I don't even have the charger plugged in. My only Bluetooth device is my iPhone 7.

    • My network is listed as the only preferred network, Auto-Join is on, and "Remember networks this computer has joined" is checked

    • I have a 2019 Macbook Air from my work that sometimes fails to connect to my network immediately after waking from sleep. However, after re-entering the password once, the wifi does not drop until it falls asleep again.

    • The wifi itself seems fine, as I was using it on both my Windows laptop and my iPhone with no issues and full strength while the connection on new Macbook constantly dropped. I have never had any issues with my network.

    I apologize for the length of the post. As you can imagine, I'm pretty frustrated by this experience with what is supposed to be the newest and best that Apple has to offer.

    MacBook Pro gives input/output error when restoring to external hard drive in recovery mode

    Hi guys,

    My MacBook crashed two days ago and shuts down while booting ever since. I'm now in recovery mode, got myself a 1TB external hard drive, formatted it to Mac OS extended journaled and tried to restore my Macintosh HD onto it. It keeps giving me ‚input/output error'. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

    I have a backup from January and could get most things I did since then back but am still reluctant to just wipe my MacBook without an additional backup right now because the one from January is in another country and I can't get to it due to current travel restrictions.

    Thanks for any advice, exam season is about to start and as everything is ‚take-home' now, a computer will be needed for all of them and the apple stores are closed for the foreseeable future.

    2012 MBP - Pictures Folder Empty among other issue.

    I was cleaning up my MacBook and removing some old zoom files and my mac started to act odd. I rebooted and all of a sudden, it's like i had to set up my mac as if it was fresh to of the box.

    While I do have a time machine - dated March 24th, the only thing that I'm currently missing is my Pictures Folder, which included my latest imports from my camera & my LR catalog.

    The other oddity is that my "SSD" drive is now showing on my desktop and i'm not sure how to remove it. I tried to change my admin rights to "Read & write"; however, it says that I don't have permission.

    I understand that I screwed up; however, I'm hoping that the information is there somewhere.

    My iPad Pro 2nd gen intermittently reboots after update to iOS 13 (panic-full)

    My iPad Pro was perfectly worked without any bugs before I update to iOS 13.

    But after I updated my iPad into iOS 13, it started reboots intermittently without any reason.

    I googled it and found the problem was panic-full, but IDK how to fix it. (Maybe it's not a hardware problem)

    Do you guys have any suggestions about this problem?

    My airpods are both really quiet

    When I use them on my oppo both ears are really quiet but when I use them on iPhone they are perfectly fine. Which is really annoying. Is there anything in settings I can do to fix this?

    I've set up hourly reminders, flagged them and set them to high priority, but I don't get notifications unless i open the app.

    I actually missed 2 of them and up on opening the reminders app, they both came at once.

    I'm running iOS 13.4.1 on iPhone 11.

    High Sierra to El Capitan downgrade?

    I was just given a VERY clean 17" MBP i7, it works great, but it already has High Sierra, which my audio interface apparently does not support. I'm finding instructions online on how to downgrade to an earlier OS, but the means they all list for obtaining an installable El Capitan version are out of date. Can anyone please direct me to current instructions for accomplishing this? I really just need the El Capitan, I already have it on my Mac Mini, but it does not show up in the Purchased tab in App Store.

    I also have an OEM Snow Leopard disc if that will help me in any way. I might be able to do what I want with Snow Leopard, but the interface downgrade would be a bummer.

    I really hope I can pull this off! Thanks!
