Are Apple Certified Refurbished watches currently good value? Posted: 09 Feb 2020 06:36 AM PST More specifically, I'm looking at a S4 SBSS 40mm on there for £525. In February 2020, is that good value? I like how resilient they are compared to aluminium, and would probably keep for a couple of years. But I don't really need cellular, so I'm trying to convince myself it's worth paying for SS when a new S5 aluminium is £399 in the UK. £525 still seems a bit steep for something that is technically used, as well as being last year's model, but I don't know how they all stack up in reality. submitted by /u/iceskating_uphill [link] [comments]

For example, you could send a hug or another action from your watch and it would show up on theirs. The little characters were little gophers or squirrels or something like that. Standard pink band won’t stay in Posted: 09 Feb 2020 08:12 AM PST I got my Apple Watch through Sprint right after Christmas. One half of the pink rubber band it comes with doesn't stay secured to the watch, it just slides in and out. I didn't purchase Sprints insurance because I've bought it for years and years and years and have never once used it. Can I bring it back to Sprint to get a replacement band? Or the Apple Store? Aluminium scratch free watch? Posted: 09 Feb 2020 06:11 AM PST I recently upgraded my watch from an OG SS to an aluminium Series 5. I had my SS for over four years without the screen ever sustaining a scratch. Being aware that, although sapphire glass's highly scratch resistant, it's easier to crack than the Sports Watch's Ion-X screen, I took the watch off whenever I was in potentially damaging situations such as throwing three lorry loads of wood into my cantina and stacking them. This forum is full of tales of people scratching Ion-X screens, provoking heated debates between those advocating using a screen protector and/or a case and those vehemently opposed to them. I have no intention of using either, though if I worked in a factory or a restaurant, on a building site, played contact sports or took part in outdoor pursuits it would be crazy not too. I also appreciate that some people enjoy the rugged look a protective case can give the watch. That's fine: each to his or her own. However I would be interested to hear from any fellow aluminium watch wearers who have worn their watches without a case or protector for a year or more without its sustaining any scratches. Watch Series 3 or Series 4? Posted: 09 Feb 2020 05:10 AM PST Watch 3 currently retails for 260 CAD (plus taxes, etc) but can get it for about 200 plus tax through shopRBC this week. Watch 4 retails for the same or more as a Series 5 (530 CAD); refurbished and open box models start at about 430 CAD. I am currently eyeing a Series 4 on eBay that is 330 CAD (open box). As an iPhone SE user (small size + value for money) I do wonder if that stretch from 200/260 (+tax) to 330 for an open box Series 4 is worth it over a BNIB Series 3 for value and longevity. [Support] Message Restrictions Posted: 08 Feb 2020 10:42 PM PST Series 3 Watch OS 6.1.1 TL;DR: We use downtime for parental controls, since apple is still pretty weak in that area. Son is grounded, contacts are set to only allow limited people. He's able to use his Apple watch to bypass contact/downtime restrictions on messages. Slightly longer version: My son is grounded, using screen time I've adjusted downtime to pretty much be forever. I've set contact restrictions to his coaches, and his family. I've checked that screentime is set to be shared across devices, but regardless I am able to message anyone. I'm hoping this is just something I'm overlooking, but watch downtime searching just takes me to posts about the bug restricting people's watches rather than downtime just not working on the watch. submitted by /u/joseym85 [link] [comments]
