| Mouse can access the Touch Bar Posted: 16 Jan 2020 08:14 AM PST clicking the bottom of dock actually clicks the Touch Bar icon directly below. | Updated to Catalina and Mail likes to appear when an application is full screen Posted: 16 Jan 2020 11:09 PM PST I always run mail in the background because it's convenient to have mail appear in the top right corner when I get a email. However with Catalina, Mail makes itself known by randomly deciding to appear on 1/2 of the screen while playing Netflix full screen for instance... I have mail open in window form, not hidden so I can quickly whip screens from full screen chrome to desktop where Mail always lives. 2016 MBP 15, Catalina 15.2 [link] [comments]  | ||

| 2019 Macbook air screen flickering Posted: 16 Jan 2020 07:31 PM PST Hey I'm new to the apple community so forgive me if I use wrong terms please. Just got a Macbook air 2019 and a couple days ago, the keyboard function buttons stopped working, after restarting it, it starting working again. However, when it turned on the screen flashed red on the apple logo. Yesterday the screen went off while I was using it with 87% battery and same thing with the red flickering when I forced it off and back on. Now it flickers red everytime I turn it on, and when it goes off it flashes white fuzz. I reset the SMC and pram. Anything I can do before going into apple store? Anyone else have this issue? | Reminders not synching at all on my Mac. Posted: 16 Jan 2020 01:32 PM PST Whenever I create a note, upload to my iCloud Drive, photos or any other iCloud function on my Mac, it gets synched correctly across all devices, except for the reminders app. Reminders works correctly on my iPhone and iPad with no issues, uploading to iCloud right away, but with my Mac it seems to be using a completely different account. It doesn't have any of the reminders I have uploaded on to iCloud when I open up the app, instead the app shows no reminders. Which is weird, because when I make a note on the Mac it gets uploaded to iCloud with no issues. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  | ||

There's a few threads on this, but they're all archived. I'm hoping there's Mac users on here who work in music/audio. I am looking for a new computer for live music performance (Ableton/MaxMSP), coming off of a 10-year-old Dell that I shamelessly held onto for fear of losing data. Windows audio is a pain and Windows DPC is a double-pain, so I'm considering Mac for the first time. However, it seems that there was a T2 bug for USB2.0 interfaces in Mojave that was supposed to be fixed but is only partially fixed, and that there's a number of audio bugs in Catalina. What I couldn't find on forums was the extent of the issue. How are Mac users getting around this? Should I plan on installing Mojave rather than Catalina and use an adapter with my interface? Would that be sufficient? I'm tempted to look for a pre-T2 MacBook, but I'm not sure that would be supported by Apple. Thanks. [link] [comments]  | ||

| How to fins Unverified developer files Posted: 16 Jan 2020 08:28 AM PST Hi, I was in the middle of installing and initiating Google SDK, and all of the sudden I got a warning from the os saying that a file has an unverified developer and that I should move it in the trash. I just quickly clicked cancelled as I thought it was due to Google. But I'm looking back and now I'm a bit concerned as I was stupid and should have looked at the file closer. Is there anyway I can find files that the OS considers unverified? Also I'm new to Mac. Thanks! Edit: Apologies for the incorrect spelling of find. I'm deploying bunch of Mac mini and I'm getting read tired of manually tweaking settings and thought a system profile would save me some time. Apple Configurator 2 is mainly for iOS. | Catalina - Keyboard / typing problems since upgrade Posted: 16 Jan 2020 11:06 AM PST Our computer is a 2017 iMac 5K. Since upgrading to Catalina, the "s" key does not register about 25% of the time. No issues when booting into Windows and typing. System Preferences settings:

By default, AirDrop on my macbook is stuck to on "no one" for discoverability. I swap it to "everyone" but when navigate back to it it is still stuck on "no one." Is anyone else experiencing this? | How can I access where playlists are kept in Catalina? Posted: 16 Jan 2020 10:23 AM PST I have been having all sorts of problems syncing my music library on my Mac and my iPhone 8. These problems all started when I upgraded to Catalina. The problem is duplicate playlists and duplicate playlist folders that are either empty or contain my entire music library. I was going to just sync selected artists, playlists, etc. but then I saw that the duplicates are there also. That's where my phone is getting the bad info from. So my question is, is there a way to access the music library where the playlists are stored on the hard drive? It seems like something behind the scenes in the music is not updating when I make changes in the Catalina Music app. It's keeping playlists I have deleted, and oddly separating ones I've kept. Here is a screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/NJzF2IJ I used to have a folder called Monthly Playlists, but I deleted it. I'm trying to figure out why it's still showing up there, in duplicate. It must be on the Mac hard drive somewhere, but I don't know where to look. I was on the phone with Apple support quite a long time last night and they couldn't help. All of them working but only one stopped working.. Deleted the whole app, reinstalled but again only this one connection does not work.. I wrote emails to them, I wrote on twitter to them but they didn't reply yet... - Mac firewall off (never was on) and nothing changed on my system settings.. | iTunes (Mojave 10.14.6) stopped updating “last played”, “plays” stats Posted: 16 Jan 2020 03:07 AM PST As the title says, iTunes suddenly stopped updating "last played" dates and play counts, but ONLY when I listen on my Mac. If I listen on my phone and then sync with iTunes, everything updates just fine. The glitch is pretty annoying, since I use smart playlists and many of them depend on "last played" stat for live updating I'm guessing it has something to do with Apple Music - I had the trial sub up until yesterday, and then I cancelled it, because I didn't really use it, so is this their way of punishing me now? I've tried restarting iTunes, restarting my Mac, don't know what else to do The songs still show up when I click the "hamburger" button in the top center or iTunes, so it definitely knows the songs were played, but it just doesn't register it anywhere else.
