worth upgrading from series 2 to 5? Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:08 AM PST I use my apple watch for exercise - i walk 7-10miles a day and find it useful for that but that it! i have a 38mm whihc is my main problem - it being too small. im wondering if the upgrade would be appreciated or pointless spend since i dont use the watch outside of exercise - but i like getting texts/ phonecalls/ changing songs/ counting steps/calories burned etc while on walk so it does get a big use help! App to store “timestamps” for daily life Posted: 31 Dec 2019 05:37 AM PST I dont even know what to call it (sorry, english s not my first language), but I would love to be able to tap and for the watch to register the time i did. For instance - my son goes for a nap. 40 mins later i am always like, what time was it. Or you put something in the oven. Or you leave the flat. Etc. Almost like a stopwatch but without the timing, just registering times. And if it could have a complication then it would be the bomb. Is there such an app? I d be great [link] [comments]
See number of charging cycles for the Apple Watch Posted: 31 Dec 2019 03:50 AM PST Is there an application for IOS or Mac Os to display the number of charging cycles of the Apple Watch, such as coconutBattery? [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Dec 2019 06:59 PM PST After a few years of wondering if I should or not and what watch to get I finally pulled the trigger. This thread pushed me towards the SS model and I think I got a good deal. I bought a new S4 44mm SS with milanese loop for $550CAD plus tax and used $210 worth of gift cards so it really only cost me $440CAD less than an aluminum S5 would've cost($570). I've always thought the space black was way better looking until this thread pushed me into wanting a SS for the durability(I'm mainly worried about scratches on the screen). I almost bought a space black until recently watched a few videos where the silver really popped in my eyes. The fact I get the milanese loop which I would have bought anyways instead of a sports loop for the same price was really the deal breaker for me. I'm starting to think the silver SS will go a lot better with any sort of function as well. I can wear the milanese if I need to dress up. So, (sorry for the rant I'm pretty excited) Thanks to this thread on pushing my purchase. Any recommendations on things to do when I first get it? Also some good watch bands to go with the Silver SS? I'll probably purchase a sports band for working out but what would you recommend for leather, link and other types of bands and where from? Thanks in advance guys and love this thread :) [link] [comments]

I only intend to use my watch for golfing and maybe running. Which to buy? Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:10 AM PST I'm looking for an Apple Watch to use with GolfShot and maybe take on a run now and then. My only real requirement is built-in GPS so that I do not need to carry my phone. I don't know anything about the differences between the series 3/4/5, so any direction would be appreciated! AW for Younger Child Instead of Gizmo Posted: 31 Dec 2019 07:56 AM PST Has anyone been able to share a line, but not receive or block phone calls on their cellular enabled Apple Watch? I received this for my young daughter for emergencies and ability to track location. Long story short, after a discussion with two Verizon reps, what I hoped for is not possible. At this point, I'd like my child to be able to keep the watch from "Santa", but see if there is some crude workaround. My requirements were that the Apple Watch needs its own phone number and calls would not be directed to the AW. My plan before Black Friday when I called Verizon was: Create an Apple Family Account: Create an account for my 7 year old daughter. Take an old iPhone 7 without service, set it up, sync the AW to that. I was told that I would have a new esim number with a new phone number, and if I did not want to mirror, I could text to that number. However, in reality, Verizon hides the number, and evidently they can not stop phone calls from arriving ( being mirrored ), however, another Rep indicated that I can do what I want in the settings. Of course, she's in love with this and I'd like to avoid parting with the watch. [link] [comments]
Does the Silver Milanese loop look good on the Space Grey Series 5 Apple Watch? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 10:04 PM PST I got the Space Grey apple watch because I felt that the silver aluminum looked cheap to me (would've opted for SS but it was out of my price range) but I prefer the silver loop, would the loop look good on the Space Grey apple watch? Only thing i'm kind of concerned about are the lugs. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Dec 2019 07:42 AM PST So my wife and I got each other the same Apple Watch series 5 for Christmas. We both run very similar settings and use them a similar amount I use an app for an hour tracking my workout so I might actually use it more. My battery lasts easily twice as long as hers. We have restarted it multiple times, closed out the apps and I have no idea what could be the cause. I understand them not lasting the exact same time length, but struggling to last half as long? Is there a fix for this? Did she just get a lemon? They are both up to date with the latest software as well. [link] [comments]
Apple Watch will not cut off when it’s on your arm unless it dies. Posted: 31 Dec 2019 07:41 AM PST I'm out of town for New Years and didn't bring my watch charger. So when I got to my friends I was going to just cut it off and save the battery for tomorrow but it kept refusing to turn off while I was wearing it. When going to bed and taking it off; it decided it could turn off now. [link] [comments]
New Year Fill the Rings Challenge Posted: 31 Dec 2019 03:51 AM PST Boom! You have been invited to compete in ''New Year Challenge''! First, download Challenges: http://apple.co/29WoKbl Once you have the app, enter invite code: 'dwmc' or tap on the link below to join: loseit-challenges://join?eligibilitycode=dwmc For those who may ask, the Challenges app does suggest a calorie goal. If your current goal is higher than what's suggested, it will still count towards your rings in the Challenges app. My calorie goal is always higher than what Challenges recommends and I always leave it higher. Posted: 31 Dec 2019 07:22 AM PST Whenever I use the dictate to speech to reply to messages, Siri automatically sends the message when I'm done talking. Is there a way to have it behave like the iPhone where it'll convert my dictation to text, but not automatically send? For example if I need a moment to think, or want to write multiple sentences? Posted: 31 Dec 2019 07:14 AM PST Does anyone else have Wrist Detection turned off? I turned it off so that way both my phone and watch would ding and vibrate when I got a call or text. Does anyone else do this? Also does wrist detection off have any other effects on the watch like better battery life or anything along those lines? [link] [comments]
WatchOS 7 feature request - Extend the Autopause workout to more activities. Posted: 31 Dec 2019 03:21 AM PST I love the auto pause feature when I am doing a running workout. But when I'm biking, this feature doesn't work. I would love to see the autopause feature brought to new workouts in WatchOS 7! [link] [comments]
looking for a sport band that is impossible to find Posted: 30 Dec 2019 08:14 PM PST so, i saw a stone sport band with a rose gold pin rather than a silver one but i'm pretty sure you cannot buy it on its own, it only seems to come with a series 4 watch. same thing goes for the pink sand sport band. there are ones that exist with rose gold pins instead of silver, but only when it comes with a series 4. i even stopped by the apple store today to look at bands and they had the stone band with rose gold pin but it was the last one and not being sold anymore so they couldn't sell it to me. does anyone know how i can get my hands on the stone sport band with a rose gold pin? i recently got the series 5 gold aluminum watch and i am DYING for the stone band but the silver pin just doesn't match as well. Posted: 30 Dec 2019 05:11 PM PST I was thinking of getting a sports loop or Milanese loop. Would these help solve my fit problem because there is no holes? Also, another question, if I were to get a Milanese loop, would it scratch my aluminum series 5? [link] [comments]
Any good third party leather loop band for 40mm watch? Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:19 AM PST Hi guys. Despite I get that 40mm models are mainly used by women and 44 by men, and modern buckle is intended to be more feminine and leather loop more masculine (frankly debatable anyway), I have a small wrist and always gone for 38/40 watches. I own many OEM bands (classic and modern buckle, milanese and link bracelet) and always desired to wear a genuine leather loop. I tried many knock offs but they revealed to be cheap plastic bands with leather print. Do you guys know a good leather loop that comes with 40mm option that can really be defined good quality? Thanks in advance for any feedback. P.S. I write from Italy, so online shops must provide international shipping... [link] [comments]
Apple’s great support for old watches Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:18 AM PST Just wanted to acknowledge how great my S1 has been on watchOS 6. watchOS 5 was a bit of a tough release for me. My battery was all over the place and the performance was pretty bad, so I was surprised in a way when I saw that Apple was updating it to 6.0 as well. Ever since upgrading, my watch has been great. I can go out for hour long runs playing music and tracking the workout and come home with 85-89% of my battery left, and end the day with plenty of battery to spare; which is especially good considering I got my watch at launch, so the battery is over 3 years old. The performance has been great too, with apps loading reasonably quickly and animations being smooth for the most part. Although this is more than likely the last major version that the S1 and S2 receive, I'm incredibly happy that Apple put in the time to make the last release so good on these watches. They've always been pretty good at supporting older products, I'm very impressed that a watch will go 4 years with the latest updates, and end off with such a good release. If anyone here works for Apple: thank you! [link] [comments]
