| Best HDMI cable that prevents remote lag? UK only please Posted: 30 Dec 2019 01:17 AM PST When i switched to 4k i noticed my remote began to act with a delay. Totally usable but somewhat annoying when you misclick things occasionally. I had done some research about it earlier this year and noticed it was a common issue for people with the apple tv 4k and had something to do with interference between the HDMI cable and remotes signal. Getting some sort of shielded cable supposedly fixes this but the only ones i saw recommended were u.s only. Does anyone know of the "Go to" cable for the Apple TV 4k, that will rectify this issue, UK amazon link preferably? [link] [comments]  | ||

| How to effectively fast-forward past commercials? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 02:40 AM PST I recently switched to using YouTubeTV on my AppleTV as my primary way to watch TV. My only issue with it (compare to the DirecTV that I canceled) is that I struggle to fast forward past commercials using the AppleTV remote. Does anyone have tips or tricks to do this easily? So far I know that I can skip 15 seconds by clicking the right side of the remote, and I can pause and try to "scrub" by sliding my finger but that is frustrating at best since it goes way too far and is hard to get any precision. | Posted: 29 Dec 2019 11:10 AM PST So I got an AppleTV 4K for Christmas. I have acquired 4K content to stream (eventually) from my home server.1 I converted from .mkv to .mov using Subler so I could import into iTunes. After import (and fixing type info) I streamed to the Apple 4K. Everything is great. Until 54 minutes into the movie. The video stars pausing, stuttering, and jumping but audio is fine. I stopped the movie and tried starting again. Started from beginning and fast forwarded to problem area. Same problem. Rebooted AppleTV. Same problem. I am testing from a MacBook Pro, running Mojave. Playing back from iTunes in MBP plays fine. Content is h.265 (Secondarily Plex won't run on any of my devices without error, but that's an different sub.) 2nd issue is all my content has poster artwork. The horrible AppleTV 4K interface pushes the bottom of the art and the name below the screen bottom. They will not be displayed ever. Checked settings and there is no overscan. 1 My current server is running 10.9 and won't feed the h.265 file to the AppleTV 4K. —— Got Plex up and serving the mkv files from the old machine which seems to work. I use that because I have a bunch of free money there and they have good prices. It was then I discovered there is no Play app for ATV. | Third Party App Integration (Netflix) Posted: 29 Dec 2019 04:12 PM PST Is it just me, or does it seem like the Netflix app is integrated poorly with Apple TV... Now, dont get me wrong, I enjoy my Apple TV very much and this might be more of a Netflix rather than an Apple issue but there are several things that don't seem to be working well and that are missing if I just compare it with my smart TV. 1) MyList - on Apple TV it only shows me a small snippet of the number of items (about 250) and it's always the first 250, I have about 400 in total. 2) Upcoming movies - there is no calendar feature that reminds me of what movies might be coming up next. As this is not a rant and as I prefer functionality over platform, has anybody experienced the first issue (My List)? And is there a fix? [link] [comments]  | ||

| IPTV M3U link gets cleared sometimes Posted: 29 Dec 2019 06:47 AM PST Does anyone else find that their M3U link or login credentials get erased from time to time ? It seems to be random, can go weeks with it being fine and then you open the app and you have to enter all your details again. It's not app specific, happens with both IPlayTV and GSE at the same time. There's plenty of free storage space so it's not that either and it doesn't happen with the logins for other apps like Netflix and Prime. [link] [comments]  | ||

I've been watching Parks and Rec but for some unknown reason every time I click on the show it brings me to the season 2 finale, and I have to scroll all the way to the actual episode I'm on. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but a serious annoyance. Everything's up to date as far as I can tell, I've deleted and re-downloaded, unregistered and registered. It seems to be only an AppleTV thing, the app works fine on every other device I've tested, is the app just garbage on ATV?
