    Last month I decided to trade-in my iPhone X for credit towards the new iPhone 11 Pro. Rather than trading the phone at the store I chose to be sent a trade-in kit to ship the iPhone X later.

    WORST MISTAKE.

    Got a $400 credit towards the iPhone 11 Pro and the remaining balance on a Citizens Bank loan. Got the trade in box, sent the iPhone X back and a week later I get an email from Apple stating my trade in value had changed from $400 to $300; reason? It said I had sent the wrong device. This is what happened next:

    — Called customer service who informed me that the trade-in facility received an iPhone 8. Mind you, I've never owned one, I told them that was not the case so they opened a dispute. I was informed I'd had a response within 24 - 48hours.

    — 3 days passed and nothing so I called again; this time they said they were still working on the case and to wait another 24 - 48hrs, I would get an email they said.

    — 3 days after I called again and the agent said they had no updates but that she will send a new dispute and rush it. Was told for the third time now to wait 24 - 48hrs.

    — 4 days after and still no update. Called customer service again and this time the specialist said she couldn't give me a response and I would need to get to a manager. After being on the phone for 1hr and 30 minutes she said she couldn't find anyone so that a manager will call me within 24 - 48hrs.

    — 3 days passed and no call back so I called again and escalated to a management team member. This person was a good-for-nothing. Mind you, it took me two hours to get to him for him to say "Calling every day is not going to resolved anything". That's how he opened the call. The conversation with him was very unpleasant, he didn't do anything at all, he didn't care to check, to send an email, to make a call, he just told me the same that the specialist told me. Told me the process will take 2 weeks.

    — 2 weeks came and went and I got an email saying my trade in value of $400 was going to be charged to my card if I didn't agree upon the new value. So I called and spoke to this "Manager" again. He said, not to accept the new trade in value as I would be agreeing on having sent and iPhone 8, he said I needed to let Apple charge my card, that a case was open, that once all resolved I would get a credit. I told him I didn't have the money, he said if I didn't pay my Apple ID would be deactivated.

    — A day after my card was charged $400 and UPS delivered a package the following day. It was the iPhone X they claimed to be "Lost".

    — I called this good-for-nothing manager and he said I had two options: ONE: Return the iPhone 11 Pro and repurchase it (Remember I have a loan on this) or TWO: To do a stand-alone trade in on the iPhone X for an Apple Gift card for which I would need to ship my phone again. A gift card, but you charged me? And honestly, last thing I want to do is ship you something again.

    ....

    I disconnected the call with him. Apple messed up, and I understand mistakes happen, we're human, but to know you messed up, don't do anything about it and have me pay the price for you mistake is nothing of a solution. There is no resolution here. I shouldn't be returning and repurchasing a device to solve your mistake, I did all that was asked of me, I sent the right device. I was charged $400 for your mistake. And it does not matter?

    At this point I feel like escalating to corporate and I want to ask of you...

    Do you think this case is worth of taking to corporate? Is there a number to corporate I can call and get someone to help me?

    My iPhone 6 is pretty old and it has problems. For its latest problem, it decided to make almost all of my photos disappear except for the one I saved a couple of hours ago. I feel this happened because I have no storage space left on my phone. What can I do to remedy this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    iCloud activation lock

    So I bought a Apple Watch series 1 off of letgo today knowing it was iCloud locked( no not stolen, owner said he just genuinely can't remember his account) Is there any way to unlock this that's not one of those sketchy websites?

    Ipad could not be restored an unknown error occurred Error 4010 and error 10

    Hopefully you guys can help me. I have an ipad pro 1st generation 12.9 inch. I tried to restore it with ituens at first clicked trust on the ipad but the ipad never popped up on itunes. I shut the ipad off plugged it in and held the home button to restore it then it popped up on itunes to restore. Now on a windows computer I get error 4010 when trying to restore and on a macbook I get error 10 when trying to restore it. Any advice?

    Edit: I restarted the macbook a few times and this time the bar got half way then it said error 53.

    Lost my MacBook Pro that was with me through thick and thin throughout school. Sad ��

    My car was broken into and the scumbag stole my MacBook. I turned on Sound and Lost on my Find My app but both are still pending, and that was 1 week ago. The laptop hasn't been online ever since. I filled out a police report and gave them the serial number, and they do have CCTV footage of the guy, but I'm not sure they can do much just by what he looks like. I had the laptop throughout all of my university and took great care of it, and now it's gone, along with all of my files (although thankfully I did manually back up a few months ago so 90% of the data is likely recoverable). Sure, I guess most of the information can be recovered, but I'm still having a tough time getting over my emotional attachment to my beloved laptop. Doesn't help that I don't have an income at the moment so this thief cost me like $2k in net damages, just to get an expensive brick with an Apple logo on it.

    So my questions are: 1. Do I have any hope of finding it again? 2. Should I remotely erase the information? Or keep it as is, while the Lost is marked as pending on my iPhone app? 3. Is there a way for the thief to access any of my information on the MacBook, whether legally or illegally through shady shops? Do I need to change all of my passwords? 4. I always used Chrome on my MacBook, and when I tried to sync bookmarks/passwords on a friend's laptop, it showed the bookmarks I had used back in like 2010. Did I do something wrong? I apologize if this question is not appropriate for this sub.

    My car isn’t detecting my phone’s Bluetooth

    I just got an iPhone 11 Pro after upgrading from an iPhone 6S. Before I could connect to the Bluetooth just fine and play my music through it, but now even when I have it on, Bluetooth can be both on in the car and my phone and it won't detect it.

    For specifics my car is a 2015 GMC Terrain and I'm on the latest iOS.

    Default folder icons all turned to generic, white, file icons. How can I fix this?

    A few days ago, all my default folder icons turned into generic, white, file icons. Even if I create a new folder, it still uses the white file icon.

    I can still see the contents of the folder, so the directory seems to be okay, but I'd like to get my folder icons back.

    Note this is ONLY with the default folder icons. If there's a special folder that has a unique icon, that icon is intact.

    Trying to unlock an old iTouch that has memories with a friend who killed himself

    Forgive me if this is not the correct subreddit for this. As the title states, a friend of mine killed himself in February and I recently found my generation 1 itouch that I had around the time we hung out the most. I know there are a lot of pictures/conversations/etc. on the device but I cannot for the life of me remember the passcode. I have tried so many times that it has deactivated for 1 hour now and Im afraid it'll permanently lock me out. Is there any Apple service or way that I can get the passcode to possibly recover any memories from it? Would taking it to an Apple store and explaining my situation do anything? This is the only place the data is stored on and I don't have my computer from that time anymore. Any help would be incredible, thank you so much.

    Album has completely vanished

    Hey,

    So like the title says, I have an album that is quite literally gone. I noticed it today when I wanted to listen to one of the songs from the album that is was no longer present. I thought it may have been deleted or hidden accidentally so I checked my hidden songs under my Apple ID and it wasn't there. It isn't even listed on iTunes now and it is completely gone.

    I'm pretty frustrated because I really liked some of those songs and I cannot seem to find them on iTunes. I may have an old iphone laying around that has them but I'm honestly not sure. I'd really like these songs back so any help is appreciated.

    I have a 5th gen IPod touch that I got when I was like 10. It is iCloud locked I can't find proof of purchase and am only pretty sure I know the email it's locked with. Even if I'm correct I dont have access to that email. Please help me if possible. ( it was a gift)

    connecting to wifi printer brother HL3170CDW

    Hello;

    I am a completely new to mac. I am trying to connect my printer via wifi it is a Brother HL3170CDW. It works perfectly on my windows machine, chrome book and andriod phones.

    When I try to add printers no available printers come up. I tried downloading software form the brother website but after it ran the installer nothing seemed to happen and I cant find where the program went.

    iPad Air 3 warm rh side (portrait)

    I just got my iPad Air 3 a few days ago and I noticed that while I was writing notes, the lower right hand side (portrait mode) gets warm to the touch. Is this normal? Or is anyone else experiencing this issue?

    The heat isn't anything serious but it's quite noticeable.

    Shared reminders not there after recent update

    I'm hoping someone has figured this out and has a solution.

    iPhone battery replacement

    My Macbook Pro is crashing when I use any software that uses the webcam. ~~WTF.~~

    I own the latest model of Macbook Pro. This issue began after the recent software upgrade. My Macbook Pro is crashing when I'm using FaceTime, Zoom, GoToMeeting, and the video recording function on the photo booth. I took this computer to the store and they reinstalled the whole iOS. Still is happening. This is pissing me off because I had to wait for a week to have an appointment at the apple store. That wait was for nothing. This is such a goddamn expensive computer to have such a silly problem.

    What the fuck is going on? Anyone from Apple browsing reddit? Hey, fix this fucking shit.

    Apple Watch will not pair.

    I have an iPhone XS Max that I've had working with my iPhone 4 for the last year or so. Recently it stopped giving updates when paired and I so I took it off and wasn't thinking about put another watch. Well I want to start my Apple Watch watch again and I have gone through resetting my watch and it will not pair no matter what. It get close to my phone, animation appears on the screen begins its process then get stuck almost immediately on a screen reading unpairing Apple Watch, but it never does. Currently in my watch app there in watch attached not in my Bluetooth settings. I really want to wear this thing again but I need some major help. Please and thank you.

    Question about iMessages

    My sisters iPad Air 2 died on August 19th. It completely crashed. I just got a new iPad for her today and set it all up using iCloud restore. Her last backup was on August 18th. The iMessage backup tab was not selected. My parents, sister, and I have an iMessage group chat and we use it to share pictures to each other. Multiple pictures and texts have been sent to that group since her iPad crashed. Today is the first time an iPad was turned on and logged into her Apple ID since the original one crashed and there were no new messages. My question is; why didn't the messages come to this new iPad when they were never opened on another device since crash date and they were sent to her iCloud address like normal. Thanks In advance!

    Trying to upload my photos on my iCloud, it's stuck on 1%

    Hey you guys, so I am desperately trying to upload my pics (over 13k) on icloud, I bought the 50GB space and my iP is 64GB. So, quite obviously, I am running out of space on it and I am going travelling tomorrow and need it to sync NOW. It's been stuck on 1% for few hours now, I tried to restart my phone, hard restart, sign off-back in my id, obvs tried to turn the option off and on several times and nothing seems to work. Help??

    I cannot find this issue online anywhere regarding this issue, may I request help?

    So I have an iMac late 2015 model that started having this issue last night. I'll try my very best to describe it so someone can guild me to possible troubleshooting.

    So basically what happens is on my desktop, my mac has automatically selected a folder on my desktop and locked up, meaning I can't "unselect" a fold using my pointer and clicking. Therefore when I do use my mouse or trackpad and select other things, I get that "donk" sound from the speaker that you get when you can't select something.(I hope that made sense)

    Also my computer makes the "donking" noise(the noise you get when you try and click something but the computer speaker will make a donk warning you, you can't click on it yet) by itself and it wakes up the computer when it's sleeping so I can't keep my computer sleeping right now. Sometimes it's like 20 donks and then it stops for a period, then an hour later it starts up again.

    I tried turning off my mac and restarting it but it didn't resolve the issue. I tried switching out the wireless trackpad with the wireless mouse and still does that weird selecting a folder on my desktop lock thing. I haven't reset anything yet so I'm wondering if I should try doing a reset of some sorts.

    I've tried looking this issue up online but I don't really know what category it would fall under or how to properly describe it in one keyword where a search would be possible.

    Anyway, any help or questions on clarification would be very helpful.

    EDIT: so I unplugged my mechanical keyboard and I'm using the wireless apple keyboard. So far, nothing is being selected and no donk noise just yet. ::knocks on wood:: Maybe it could have been my keyboard is getting faulty and needs cleaning?
