iPhoneX The new update and closed tabs

The new update and closed tabs

    Posted: 22 Sep 2019 04:29 PM PDT

My phone suddenly started acting very strangely a day after updating. My swipe keyboard was very slow and I couldn't swipe up to close apps. I restarted the phone and the keyboard and swiping seem fine now but...

When I opened chrome, all of my tabs were closed. I'm talking at least 50 tabs and they aren't in my recent tabs or history (because some of them were opened weeks ago).

Is this something I should expect to happen when restarting my phone from now on? This has never been an issue before. Should I start bookmarking things instead?

Small but vital improvements to the music app

It might be a minor improvement to the interface but in my opinion a very important one when using the music app and looking up lyrics it now scrolls in a similar fashion to a karaoke machine allowing you to follow along with the song easier.

Switched over to iOS from being an Android fanboy one year ago.

All my life I've been using androids. I thought I'm never gonna switch over to a platform that doesn't even let users change the home screen layout. That all changed when my Galaxy S8 stopped working, and then the brand new replacement I got stopped working too and decided to get a iphone, my first iphone ever, the X. Here's a very long term summary of my experience using an iPhone.

    Pros

    • This thing runs like brand new even after a year. All the androids I had slowed down only after months of use.

    • Updates, kudos to Apple for supporting 4 year old devices. It took a year for my old S8 to get Android Oreo and it's not even eligible for Android 10 despite being Samsung's 2017 flagship.

    • Camera - iPhone camera quality blows my mind, androids tend to produce really soft images, apart from the Pixel. I can always tell if a photo was taken on an iPhone, photos just look so much better. There is no contest for iPhones when it comes to video.

    • Stand by battery life is god tier on iPhones, I'd go to sleep at 80% and wake up 6 hrs later at 78%. I remember my Samsung draining 10+% during sleep

    • I always get my notifications on time which never was the case on android. I would open up Instagram and I'd have 5 DMs which I didn't get notifications for . Sometimes I'd get the notification hours later. Check out LinusTechTips, he usually has the same issue with the android phones(mainly Samsung) he reviews.

    • iPhones hold their value. Where I live Samsung phones are half price or less a year after launch, iPhones go down maybe 15% in value when the newer model is released.

    Cons

    • Samsung OLED screens spoiled me. If iPhone OLED is an A, Samsung is A+

    • Charging takes longer, but in fairness I use the regular charger. Won't be an issue with the 11 Pro cas' it comes with a fast charger.

    • Can't customize the phone the way I want it. You can go nuts on android customizing it just the way you want it.

Overall I'd go for an iPhone any day. I never had to visit a repair center for any problem whatsoever in my year of owning an iPhone which was never the case with android. iPhones just work, yes they are restricting but they just work and for me personally, I like reliability. I sometimes check the Galaxy S8 subreddit and people post about their issues with the phone on a daily basis, be it battery drain or slowing down. Personally, the experience iPhones give has been so much better for me.
