IT Chapter Two- Alternative Poster. Made a themed travel poster brochure using procreate app on ipad pro out of the famed ghost house in the form of Pennywise the clown

The poster tries to capture the theme of a travel poster with a sinister theme behind it. The illustrated artwork shows the town of Derry with its iconic landmarks and elements. The house is the centre of attraction and eerily resembles Pennywise the clown.

    iPad Pro 11 Movie

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 12:02 PM PDT

I have the iPad Pro 11 and about to take it on a flight. I would like to be able to download movies from my computer at home and put them on a USB drive. Will a USB to USB-C adaptor work and allow me to watch the movies on the thumb drive?

If not, what do I need?

Skype for IPad- USB Mic support

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 11:14 AM PDT

Hello iPad folks. I'm attempting to set up my usb mic into my 10.5'' iPad Pro. The mic is a Samson C01U. I have a powered USB Hub. The iPad recognised the mic- this works in tests with GarageBand / voice memos. However I cannot get FaceTime or Skype to use the mic when connected, either through the usb hub or not- instead it seems to default to the inbuilt iPad mic. I can't see anything in settings. Am I being thick?

Has anyone used sidecar to simultaneously type and write in OneNote?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 09:36 AM PDT

I would love the ability to type notes in OneNote on my laptop and annotate in OneNote on my iPad simultaneously.

I know one drive in office 365 updates constantly, but my files would often become "corrupt" while refreshing.

    Thank you!

Update: I also use notability if anyone has information (type and annotate simultaneously) on that!

Ipad Pro / Macbook Air as a Student

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 09:21 AM PDT

    Hey everyone,

I'm going to start studying at the university (business management) and I can't seem to choose between an Ipad Pro and a Macbook Air.

I'm a music producer so I do have a Macbook Pro to make music but I would like to buy a second device so that I can clearly separate my music from my University work.

I would mainly use the device to take notes/write stuff down and maybe also work on excel sheets and other documents.

I never really used a tablet for anything productive but from what I read and from videos I watched the Ipad seem to be really cool to use as a Student. I could still do heavier work on my Macbook if really needed.

Do you have any experience with using an Ipad as a Student and is there any limitations to it ?

As IPadOs is coming out soon I feel like it's the right time to try this out ?

Thanks for taking the time to read & answer !

Sidecar error "Unable to connect to "iPad". A miscellaneous error occurred (-402)."

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 08:45 AM PDT

    Hi all,

Getting this error when trying to connect to my iPad via the sidecar option. Wanted to see if anybody here could provide any insight.

iPad is a 3rd Gen iPad Pro running iPadOS 13.1. Macbook is a 2016 Pro with Catalina 10.15.

Get this error whether I try from Settings>Sidecard, Airplay>iPad, or green expand button>send to iPad.

Help with storage; error says out of space but Settings show plenty

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 07:50 AM PDT

I was recently trying to download a movie from my Files app on my iPad Pro 11 64GB running iPadOS. The movie file was uploaded to iCloud Drive but I got an error that said "you can't save the file because the volume 'Data' is out of space" but according to Settings > iPad Storage I have over 35 GB free and the movie file is only 7 GB.

What makes it even weirder is that I tried to download it from my other iPad (iPad Mini 5 64 GB running iPadOS) and got the same error despite over 30GB free. What is the deal and how do I solve? I even tried utilizing the Documents by Readdle app but it won't download to there either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

2018 iPad, iPad Pro 10.5, or 2019 10.5 iPad Air?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 07:48 AM PDT

    Hi,

I am currently trying to decide between the 2018 iPad (brand new from Apple), iPad Pro 10.5 from a few years ago (Open Box from a seller on Best Buy), or the 2019 iPad Air (brand new from Apple)

In order of expense, The cheapest for me is by far the 2018 iPad, then the Air and the Pro will cost me about the same, almost 200 dollars more thank the iPad

I would be using it mainly for notes in class, and to stream Netflix, YouTube, download and read books, etc

I was set on the 2018 iPad but I keep reading about the unlaminated screen and I don't know if it will end up bothering me.

I also don't know if I should get it in 32GB or 128, I don't think I should need more than 32 but I'm really not sure how much all the apps I want to download, etc, will take up The 128 will cost me about 100 dollars more than the 32GB

If anyone has any of these devices and could offer some advice that would be great, thank you!!!

    Reddit app on ipad

    Posted: 31 Aug 2019 07:09 PM PDT

Is there anyone else that feels that they should give like a full desktop version of the reddit app on ipad? or at least a re-done version that fully utilizes all of the screen space and gives the features like desktop does? (I know I can just use safari on iPadOS because desktop browser but i'd prefer the actual reddit app.)

Should I buy the iPad Pro 11” now or wait?

    Posted: 31 Aug 2019 03:45 PM PDT

Bestbuy is currently selling the iPad Pro 11" for 624.99 (after student deal was included), but I was wondering if I should wait for a better deal. I saw that bestbuy had sold it for cheaper about a week or two ago.

Edit: the iPad will be primarily used for school!

    Ipad 9.7 2018 in 2019?

I am planning to buy the budget ipad 2018 model for college this year, but I've also read that a new budget ipad might be release in September. So should I wait for one more month? And for long the 2018 would be supported? Cheers!

Comparing new iPad Pro 11" with old 9.7" Pro

Comparing new iPad Pro 11" with old 9.7" Pro

    Hey all,

So I was definitely motivated to get the latest iPad from some of your posts. However, I didn't always feel like my exact use case was represented, so here are a few notes from my upgrade that might help others. Please bear in mind these are first-day impressions.

    1. The screen is impressive. It now feels completely flat, like it's even closer to the glass, and much more immersive when you're reading.
    2. FaceID is a mixed bag. I was used to activating TouchID as I was reaching for the iPad, so having to stare at it is a bit weird, plus it's a two-step thing — you also have to "pull up". I think Apple will be improving the sensor by giving it a wider angle, but only for the upcoming models.
    3. It doesn't feel as comfortable to hold. I could easily hold the 9.7 with one hand for long periods of time (four fingers behind it, thumb in the front), but this one gets tiring very quickly. That's pretty bad if you use it in bed like me. I *wonder* if the new keyboard folio's most upright position is useful for that kind of situation.
      1. Will try not to rant here, but I'm sad that the iPad scene has become all about it "being a computer with a keyboard" pushing this notion of horizontal orientation. I've used the iPad with a Magic Keyboard but it was meh — maybe because it wasn't all one seamless experience? Still I mostly prefer *reading* in *vertical orientation* and I think the ergonomics are passing me by.
    4. My experience with USB-C on two fronts:
      1. With an external drive, NTFS is not recognised (of course). I was interested in playing some MKVs using the disk that's usually connected to the TV, but it isn't happening. Understandable legacy stuff of course, but most of the iPad's shortcomings are in this area anyway.
      2. Transferring files from computer to iPad is weird. I'm using MacOS Catalina, which does not yet have an interface for confirming you're sending the file to an app (VLC) or file transfer progress. It just shows up there when it's done. Does anyone know if you can put folders in some kind of "External drive" mode so that the iPad perceives your laptop as a disk?
    5. The "Portrait Camera" really sucks. Depth control could be interesting in the read camera. With selfies it just produces this blurry mess around your face. I'm sure iPhone X people are used to this. It is useless.

I leave you with a comparison image of an X-Men page in both iPads. Since I got the iPad a few years ago, I was able to read stuff I wouldn't have read otherwise. The new format is perfect for comics and pdfs, since it's much closer to real page size — but in a manageable way, not like the ginormous 12.9".

App: Chunky (with 'crop margins' turned on)
