College life with iPad Pro. Which apps should I use? Posted: 05 Sep 2019 09:11 AM PDT Hey! I'm planning to buy an iPad Pro 2018 for my college studies. I've already decided, which one should I purchase, but I really need some help about the apps. First of all I have to choose a note taking app, there's too many option (free, and not also). I've heard so many good things about GoodNotes and Notability also. Personally I would choose GoodNotes because I really like the UI and the usable functions, but I can't go over on the recording functions of the Notability. Could you please help me out, is that recording function would be enough plus to choose that? Somebody has some personal stories about these apps, to help me to choose? Also, can you guys recommend other useable and must have apps for the college life? Thanks 😊 [link] [comments]

How to extract pages from a PDF Posted: 05 Sep 2019 05:58 AM PDT I've been sent a Subject Access Request that contains over 1700 pages. I need to send some of the data to someone but only a certain page range (343-390) any idea on how I can do this for free? [link] [comments]

Alternatives to Lightroom on the iPad Posted: 05 Sep 2019 11:06 AM PDT Hello! So since getting my iPad pro 10.5 last year I've found that I've really no need to use my old MacBook, Even for photos. Now I don't take lots of photos these days, mostly only when traveling, but when I do I like to edit a select few RAW images from the days travels. iPad does this amazingly. Now I've been spoilt because I have had Adobe CC subscription on the computer and simply signed in on the iPad. But I'm re-evaluating that monthly cost: I don't need the cloud sync because I do all I need on the iPad. So can I forego the £10 a month for CC and replace with something that is nearly as good as LR mobile? I would like to keep editing RAW which I believe the free version of LR doesn't let you do. It also omits the selective edits (brush, radial, gradient) tool which I like to use with the pencil. I've seen Darkroom and Affinity....but seems like the former doesn't have selective edits?? I could of course do these in affinity which ruins the "one stop shop" aspect of LR. But then DR and Affinity could be had for about £40 all in, rather than £120/yr. (Also I occasionally stitch photos...but can't find anything on ipad that can do it with raw). [link] [comments]

Sell MacBook Pro for iPad Pro 11 Posted: 05 Sep 2019 01:46 PM PDT I posted this yesterday but I believe I was not clear enough. I am thinking of selling my MacBook Pro that I barely use for an iPad Pro 11 and an Apple Pencil. I currently barely use my MacBook since I have a desktop pc that I use for all my main homework and coding. I will generally need a iPad just to write notes and read slides while I'm in class and most of out coding classes are in a computer lab anyways so I really don't need to code on the iPad. Those who have iPads would you recommend that I keep my macbook or go ahead and get an iPad? Thanks [link] [comments]
Keyboard shortcuts in YouTube iOS Posted: 05 Sep 2019 09:46 AM PDT So I'm waiting for my bluetooth keyboard to show up for my iPad Pro 2018 and I was just a little curious as what the keyboard shortcuts are for the YouTube app? Does arrow left and right skip 5 seconds? Is there a shortcut for maximising/minimising the video window I can't seem to find an answer to this on Google, also are there keyboard shortcuts for multitasking, like side-by-side and slide over? Thanks [link] [comments]
iPad 6th Gen 32gb vs. Current iPad Air 64gb Posted: 05 Sep 2019 01:23 PM PDT I'm between these two models and hoping to buy either one sometime next week as school has just started up. The regular iPad seems nice and affordable for $250, but I saw that Apple's back to school sale brought the iPad Air price down to $479 and includes Beats Solo3 Wireless headphones. I would be able to sell the headphones for $150 bringing the price down to $329. Seeing as the Air includes the A12 chip, twice as much storage, and the laminated/bigger display, would getting this model for $329 be a no brainer? Usage would be restricted to mainly note taking for college (planning on buying an Apple Pencil as well), with occasional lightweight Netflix and gaming use. I have a 2017 MbP to do all the heavy lifting. Would the Air be overkill for my needs? The 6th gen is extremely affordable and I was set on it for a while, but seeing as $80 would get me the A12 chip, extra storage, and bigger display, would it be dumb to not go for that? I have never owned an iPad before, but own several apple products already (MbP, iPhone X, AirPods). [link] [comments]
İpad pro 3rd Gen 12.9 vs Mb Pro 15 retina 2015 Posted: 05 Sep 2019 01:06 PM PDT I have doubts on which one to buy? Can I do the same works on bought? Ex. Microsoft Office works and some University staff? Which one do you prefer? Besides to that, do I have to wait the newest iPad which will be announce at 10th of September? [link] [comments]
What difference will the 12X make vs the 12 in the future? Posted: 05 Sep 2019 12:43 PM PDT Both the 12 and 12X are amazing atm, but how will they age? Even though both work great right now but will the 12X have more support in the future? Or will the difference mean some future games will work on one and not the other? If that matters, I stop updating when new OS versions make the device slower. I stopped both my 4S and iPad 2 on iOS 7. My old 6s is on 12 but will probably be updated to 13 unless I see reports about it being quite a bit slower. I'm trying to justify buying an iPad Pro (likely the 11") instead of an iPad Air and I'd like to know if it's worth the 300€ difference. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Am I the only one who hasn’t gotten over how much the iPad Pro feels like magic? Posted: 04 Sep 2019 09:03 PM PDT Look, I'm only barely not a teenager. My first computer was the iMac G3 when I was three years old, so I grew up with the Internet. Nevertheless, the iPad Pro feels like magic. Like, I seriously cannot understand how they made this thing. Sure, I can conceptualize it, but whenever I hold it – especially without the keyboard and in portrait mode - I feel like I'm in the future. Reading websites on this thing is insanely cool. I can't be the only one who feels this way, am I? This is seriously an underrated device. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Sep 2019 11:55 AM PDT Hello, all. I have an iPad Air 2. I purchased the pencil thinking it would be compatible only to realize that it is not. So I'm looking for something to replace this as soon as I get my refund. What are your suggestions? EDIT: I can't return the Air 2 in exchange for something else. I am willing to get a finger replacement stylus. Just post the link to it if possible. [link] [comments]

Sidecar not supported after IpadOS Beta 2 update. Posted: 05 Sep 2019 08:37 AM PDT This is a PSA for people who heavily use the sidecar function of iPadOS. If you update to the newest beta you will get this notification when trying to connect sidecar with your Mac: "sidecar requires a newer version of macOS" The main reason I'm using the beta is for sidecar, so this is pretty unfortunate.
