Posted: 03 Sep 2019 11:53 PM PDT Is anyone else have a problem where anytime they press the Menu button the screen turns black (or sometimes a green color) for a few seconds and then goes home? I'm also having an issue that makes the remote stop responding except for the volume and pause button until I restart the whole thing. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Sep 2019 01:03 PM PDT Hi All, I have what I think could be a solid idea for an Apple TV app, if it doesn't already exist. I'd love to see an app that has access to all of your iTunes movies and shows, and, when you launch the app, plays a randomly selected movie or episode at a random point within its runtime. Kind of like channel surfing, but you've essentially got a pre-curated list of content that you'd be able to stumble into, pick up and start watching. If you don't like what it pulled up, just skip ahead and it will choose another random movie at a random time. If you find something you like, you've always got the option to back up to the beginning, or to a previous chapter. It'd be sweet if you could include/exclude particular movies, too, like a playlist that it picks from. The idea comes from this--When I find that I've got a couple hours of free time, I find myself paralyzed by the sheer number of options to choose from. It always feels like such an COMMITMENT to say "Yes, I'm going to settle on...'The Town' tonight." I find myself way more apt to get into a movie if I'm channel surfing and notice that something I like is already on--"OOH, The Dark Knight's on, and it's the Pencil Scene!!!" Then I'm locked in for the rest of the movie. So, I guess...A. Does anything like this exist? and, B. Am I a weirdo for essentially wanting to revert back to "channel surfing" in this golden age of being able to watch ANYTHING whenever we want to? Anyone else looking for something like this? Thanks! Posted: 03 Sep 2019 08:12 AM PDT There is way too much content in the Apple TV app that I do not have access to that's being displayed in the menu. To be truly useful it should be possible to filter based on the content you have access to. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Sep 2019 09:19 AM PDT Hi, I am controlling my AppleTV with my Sony TV remote. I never use the AppleTV remote. So one remote less to keep track of - which is nice! But when I am not using the AppleTV, but I am just using my Sony TV watching regular "flow tv", and browsing around different channels and menues, my TV remote still controls the AppleTV in the background. So when I at some point switches over to the AppleTV, there is a random movie running inside some randomly selected app. Can I prevent this somehow? I have a ShieldTV as well, that I am controlling with my Sony remote too, and on this device, there is no problem. So it must be possible to turn off the remote-controlling, when the AppleTV is not used? [link] [comments]
ATV says it’s connected to Ethernet, Ethernet isn’t plugged in Posted: 03 Sep 2019 08:00 PM PDT As the title says, all the sudden one of my ATVs keeps saying it's connected to an Ethernet connection, but there is no Ethernet cable connected to it. I can not force it to change to WiFi and reboots/relocating do not work. Has anyone else experienced this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Sep 2019 02:12 PM PDT Just picked up a new Apple TV 4K to replace my Xbox One X and I'm running into some weird behavior w/ HDMI-CEC. Maybe one of you have run into this and have a decent fix? Hardware: Apple TV 4K, Sony Bravia XBR-65X900F, Pioneer VSX-LX303 Receiver Config:
Thoughts on how to fix that last bullet point? The HDMI cable is the same one utilized w/ the Xbox One X, and it's running through the same port on the receiver as well. All high speed, Dolby Atmos / Vision works fine. [link] [comments]
I think I need a new HDMI cable... Posted: 03 Sep 2019 12:24 PM PDT Watching tv on my Apple TV 4K is really choppy sometimes, not like it buffers or anything it's just choppy when the camera pans or switches scenes etc. I reset it and it's much better now so far but I thought I'd get a new HDMI cable too. What is the fastest, best HDMI cable I can get for my 4K Apple TV? I don't know a ton about cables. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Sep 2019 03:54 PM PDT Ok, so I know that the apple tv app is supposed to combine other streaming services' content into one place (or at least I think I know that) so in theory Handsmaid's Tale and The Man in High Castle would be on the same screen, and you can launch them from the Apple TV app rather than going into the Hulu/Amazon apps separately. Is there a version of this for the movies we own? I have a lot of movies on Vudu that aren't Movies Anywhere compatible, and the same with iTunes. It would be really nice to be able to see them all in one spot. [link] [comments]
Putting media files onto Apple TV 4K Posted: 03 Sep 2019 03:42 PM PDT Is it possible to put files from my Windows 10 PC to my Apple TV? Let's say I wanted to move a digital copy of a movie that I have downloaded (legally, felt that should be added) onto my Apple TV. Is that possible, or am I stuck using Plex for that sort of thing? PlayStation Gold Headset with Apple TV Posted: 03 Sep 2019 02:55 PM PDT Hi! I have the PlayStation Gold Headset (Original versión) and an Apple TV (not the latest but it can download apps). Has anyone tried plugging the USB dongle for the Gold headset and seeing if that works for the Apple TV? I know it works on a Mac and PC. I'd love to be able to use it to watch movies. It's pretty awesome on the PS4. [link] [comments]
[Question] Is there a way to control your AppleTV with only your voice other than a home pod? Posted: 03 Sep 2019 09:11 AM PDT My goal is to not have to touch a remote at all but also don't want to dish out $300 for a Home Pod.... [link] [comments] |
