Need to change my Apple ID country, but have to spend my $20 App Store balance Posted: 04 Sep 2019 12:54 PM PDT Hi all, I'm currently on my second day of using my 2015 macbook pro, and one of the things I want to do is change the Apple ID country, but I can't do that until I spend the $20 I had when I had my iphone, and not sure what are the best items to get from the app store for my macbook with that kind of money, can you people help? Why is my Macbook's battery doing this? Can anyone explain? Posted: 04 Sep 2019 11:14 PM PDT So I have a 2011 MacBook Pro and the condition of the battery says to "Replace Soon". I don't have the money to replace the battery right now so I just leave the plug on it to prevent the battery from draining/dying. My current charger is 3rd party replacement and sometimes it would charge, but most of the time it would just display the battery in full blackness (not see through when you know it's charging), which indicates it's powering the laptop, but not charging the battery. I don't have a problem with that since I don't take my MacBook anywhere since it just stays in my room, but now everytime I turn it on, the battery is still in full blackness (it hasn't been able to charge back in awhile, could be a problem with the 3rd party charger) and it would drop 1 percent each time I power on my MacBook. It was 100% a month ago, now it's at 70% and keeps going down a percent everytime I would power it back on. It doesn't go down when I'm using the laptop, it only goes down when I shut it off and power it back on. Anyone know what's the cause of this? Is the battery just done, unable to charge anymore? US-style keyboard replacement in non-English countries Posted: 04 Sep 2019 09:00 PM PDT I have a MBP 2017 with the butterfly keyboard and having an issue with the hard-to-press keys. I am currently back in my hometown (no Apple Store in my country) for vacation and will be back to Germany for school next month. I heard that recently Apple has been pushing the 1-day keyboard replacement service by preparing keyboard stocks in their store. Are Apple Store in Germany or non-English European countries also providing the same service? If yes then do you know if they have stocks of US-style keyboards as well? [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Sep 2019 06:58 PM PDT I'm trying to decide between a MacBook Air (2018) and a Pro (2019). The 2019 keyboard on the Pro seems to have a little more push/tension in a pleasant way. I'm not imagining that, right? It's really subtle, but does seem better from what I can tell. I'm guessing a PC fan might attack me, but as a musician, I notice pressure differences a bit more -- at least I like to think I do. Haha. :) [link] [comments]
2019 13" Pro OR 2018 15" Pro (refurbished) Posted: 04 Sep 2019 05:12 PM PDT I need to upgrade my 2012 13" Pro and have 2 options:
The extra screen space is pretty attractive to me, and the difference would only be about $300. Is there anything in the 2018 version that I should worry about (keyboard, the fact it's refurbished, etc) that warrants me getting the 2019 Pro over it? I will be using it for shcool/programming mainly. [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Sep 2019 11:22 AM PDT Hey all, apologies if this has been posted previously! I'm looking into college, at 21 years old it feels so daunting, how are 17-19 year olds making these kinds of choices?! Lol but I plan on doing all online courses. I'm wondering which MacBook might be the best for that. I love Apple, always had iPhones but I'm next to nothing on knowledge for MacBooks. The degree I'm choosing is Human Resources so it won't be used for intense coding or anything. Just long nights of simple coursework, maybe used for leisure now and again. Thank you in advance for any help! ♥️ [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Sep 2019 12:43 PM PDT My issue is basically what I mention in the title. I have a large TV monitor that I want to connect as a third monitor to my laptop, an early 2015 MacBook Pro. So far, I already have two other displays connected via VGA adapters to the two Thunderbolt ports on the laptop. I thought, then, that adding a third display should be as simple as connecting it via the HDMI port, but when I did that, one of my original displays went dark. If I unplug the HDMI it comes back, but I can never get all three of the monitors to be turned on at one time. Whenever I plug in the HDMI, one of the two Thunderbolts deactivates. Specifically, the one that deactivates is the smallest of my displays, besides the laptop itself, an Acer LCD monitor. I've tried multiple configurations of which cables go from what port to what monitor, but nothing ever changes the outcome. I've tried using the "detect displays" button in Systems Preferences but it doesn't do anything. Is there an issue with trying to connect displays through different cable formats? Is it perhaps because one of these displays is just too old (list of displays below)? No online advice has worked thusfar, so this is kind of the last ditch effort before I give up on it and just accept I won't have the glory of three external displays. So, any advice would be great. Thanks! [link] [comments]

There probably isn’t a way to do this but I thought I might ask just incase there is. Posted: 04 Sep 2019 09:22 AM PDT Random thought. I have an old Macbook Pro that doesn't work because the charging port blew out or something. It like sparked and crackled when I plugged it in one day and wont charge. So it's just sitting there not working because I cant charge it. Is there any way I can use the screen of the MBP for my new air? Like connect them in any way so that I can make some use out of the old MBP and have a higher resolution screen? [link] [comments]
