Is it worth updating macbook air OSX Yosemite to new 2018/19 version Posted: 29 Sep 2019 05:23 PM PDT I never update my devices, I just find I have no reason of doing it but I really want the night shift mode on my laptop since I use it in the dark all the time and my eyes hurt so much after. Is it worth updating and will the old version's space on the laptop be removed? (sorry im not tech savy) [link] [comments]
MacBook Air 13-inch (Mid 2011) to sell Posted: 29 Sep 2019 10:29 AM PDT Hi Reddit! We have a MacBook Air 13-inch (Mid 2011) with 4 GB memory and 128GB flash storage. The battery was recently replaced and the current battery cycle count is 35. The machine itself is in a pretty good condition being 8 years old! My questions are: 1) Is it worth selling? Can we actually sell it? 2) What would be a reasonable price? 3) How/where can we sell it? I can only think of Kijiji! If any information that is missing to evaluate its value, please let me know! Sorry, I am not tech savvy. I'd appreciate your help!!! Thank you! [link] [comments]
My Early 2015 13" macpro now seems to have a expanded battery ... Posted: 29 Sep 2019 08:34 AM PDT (Mac book pro sorry!) I'm in the UK, bought in 2016 and my warranty has ran out (including the extended). Currently if I put some force on the front (touchpad) while typing the entire Mac rocks, which it never used to do. So after inspecting it seems the underneath (below kboard) seems to have a very slight bulge that it's now rolling on. I'm currently job hunting and I'm low on funds so this is the worst timing but what are my options? Any help is appreciated, thanks. [link] [comments]

New MacBook Pro... wouldn't turn on after 5 hours! Posted: 29 Sep 2019 04:35 AM PDT What's up people, I just bought they 2019 MacBook Pro (my first MacBook from Apple) 13,3 inches / i5 8th 1,4 GHz / 8 Go RAM / 128 Go SSD / etc... yesterday afternoon around 15:00. When returning home, I opened the box to see the MacBook charged at 100% : noice!!! I then set up some parameters (Apple account, data, keychain from old iPhone, etc...) and softwares (Microsoft Office license given by my college, Spotify, etc...), getting the battery from 100 to 60%. When at 60-58%, the computer simply shut down, telling me when plugging it that the battery was low (about 0%), but still, when plugged and powered on, showing me about 58% battery again. After telling a friend, I followed his advise and plugged it for about 8 hours (let's say from about 18:00+, planning on to keep it plugged through the night). Still, I had things to set up for college : EndNote, Google Drive sync, Mail sync, etc... Therefore, I set theses parameters up while it was being plugged, from about 18:00 to 21:00. This is what happened : When I was finished setting up things and ready to go to bed, I decided to shut it down manually (powering it off) and plug it for the night in another room. In that different room, I then realized that I needed to look up at something else, so, decided to turn it on one last time. At this moment, I was unable to power it back on again : - No light on the keyboard, but I could hear the sound of the MacBook being plugged on; - Tried the many reset/reboot keyboard combinations found on the many Internet tutorials (on my PC); - Tried talking to an Apple customer agent and did not managed to get it done with her; - Tried at many, many times (until 1 hour of charge, etc...), but nothing was working. This morning, I tried to look at different ways and keyboard combinations to make it turn on, only to miraculously seeing it turn on after 45 minutes of different manipulations. Having still scheduled a meeting at the Genius Bar on Tuesday evening as of yesterday night, do you think that my MacBook has some serious manufacturing problem going down (and would repeat this, etc...) or something worth sending it to reparation. I did not take the AppleCare, but just bought this MacBook yesterday afternoon (I would be under the 1 year legal consumer warranty, but also the 1 year Apple legal warranty for this type of situation).
