Now say I leave this iPhone at my work locked up, and I remove the SIM card to put it in another iPhone that is not connected to the same Apple ID. I know it's a long story but I am baffled by it and I am wondering if there's reason to be concerned that my accounts and iPhone are compromised. ( R/rbi removed this when I used "123456@gmail.com as a joke) "Hello Reddit RIB! I love this sub but never imagined that I would be needing it for myself in the future but here I am. 🤷🏼♀️ I am looking for help to find an explanation for an usual email address that popped up today when I was trying to login to my regular gmail account on my iPhone. Like most people, I have more than one gmail address and the passwords for those are all saved in my phone's settings with "Passwords and Accounts" . Since I have multiple gmail accounts when I try to login to any one of the accounts on google it will often show me options for what available options I have according to "Passwords and Accounts". Today I noticed a new email address besides the ones I currently use. With the total number of suggested emails, there are also a few older accounts of mine that I don't use anymore. I recognize the three that I use now as well as the two from years ago but the one with only numbers doesn't ring a bell. First assumption would be for a person not recognizing a user name attached to one of their email accounts and with a password saved and synced to current device would be that they made it some time ago and forgot about it, Right? However the problem with me is that I can almost guarantee you that I would never have any username that's only numbers. It's not fitting to me and on top of that, it's not anything I have done in any circumstance in my entire 15+ years of being an Internet user. I decided to take a look at the security question to see if anything useful would come up but it was written in Spanish and I don't know how to speak or write Spanish. After that I decided to let Google send a verification text to the phone number attached to the account but before Google would send the text, they wanted me to verify they had the proper phone number. They only shared the last two digits but they were not mine or anyone close to me that I recognized. After that, I quit working on it because I didn't want to try and login to another person's email account. I figured it was some technical glitch and would go away on it's own until I suddenly realized that the password is stored on THIS device and can be viewed in my "passwords and accounts" . After taking a look at the password, I don't recognize that as anything familiar either. It's not in all Numbers or Spanish this time but it still doesn't seem like something relevant to me. All of this combined makes me feel very strongly about this not being some old forgotten account of mine. I can look back and remember my childhood screen names and email addresses, even my old MySpace url. I can remember those things and even if an old memory was shaky regarding these types of things, the fact that it's just 6 or 7 numbers is 100% not in my personality. Assuming that I am correct about this email not being one I created, how would it get into my phone's saved passwords? No one else has had access to this phone and it's been password protected since the day I got it, Should I check my carbon monoxide detectors? It was done recently but I am really open to all suggestions here. I am so freaked out. When I saw the password questions were in Spanish, I felt sick. Please help!!! Edit 1.0 Update: I also think it's relevant to mention that I went through my entire list of saved usernames and passwords in my "Passwords and Security" section for this phone and there's nothing else saved for another site besides this one gmail account that I don't recognize Edit 2.0 Update: I went as far as I could with trying to retrieve the account. I even answered the security question with the answer to my favorite color. I translated it on Google and went back to key it in and OMG IT WORKED!! I can't resolve this in my brain. It's either that I share my favorite color with Mr. 123***@gmail.com (obviously these aren't the real numbers in the email address) or I am living in an alternate username speaking Portuguese and Google kindly attempted an offer to merge the inboxes. That makes sense, right? I am attempting to understand the possibility iOS 13 upgrade and what was mentioned by a commenter in this post. I still don't believe it's that because I was able to read the password that this account once had in my lists of saved logins on my iPhone's "Passwords and Security"within the Settings. The password once used to access the account on my phone is a pretty specific phrase that wouldn't make sense for Apple. ** In the meantime, what should I be checking on my phone to see if possibly it may be comprised security wise. Posted: 06 Jul 2019 07:28 PM PDT This is making me crazy and has been going on for over a year now, as demonstrated in this post I made on StackExchange: Same thing still happens. It's only this one Gmail folder, and repairing it (and all my other inboxes just for good measure) has accomplished nothing. If I apply my rules to these "recovered" messages they go where they are supposed to - for a few minutes. Then before I know it, they're back in the recovered folder again. WTF... does anyone know how to make this stop? It's incredibly obnoxious. 2018 MBP running High Sierra (was formerly happening on my 2011 MBP running Sierra. I am guessing that there wouldn't be but want to make sure. Could backing up with an older version cause any problems for the device? | Why is there no way to shut everything up but incoming calls. Posted: 06 Jul 2019 09:26 PM PDT No messenger or text notifications and beeps. I just want the phone going off if there is a call. Why is there no way to do this. I know do not disturb does that but only after the caller tries to call you a SECOND time. Is it too much to only want your phone to go off for incoming calls without needing to individually turn off notifications for each app. [link] [comments]  |

| MacBook Air 2017 left on hot surface Posted: 06 Jul 2019 09:09 PM PDT [STRANGE STORY] I left my switched on MacBook Air (one-year-old) for 5-7 min on the "top of the microwave" that was emitting hot air and the surface was hot. When I picked it up the laptop, the base of the laptop was quite hot. I cooled it down by putting the laptop an ice pack. It was ok in a few minutes. Now, I feel that the laptop is getting warmer on the top left side and base. And losing charge quite fast. Should I get it checked by Apple?--It is out of warranty :( [link] [comments]  |
| Bottom part of iPhone is unresponsive Posted: 06 Jul 2019 08:45 PM PDT Hi, I have an iPhone 6S. The phone has been used for over 3 years and is still working fine. All of the sudden the bottom part of my screen suddenly stopped working. I can still tap on some app icons on that part, and everything else still functions pretty good except I can't swipe on that particular portion of the screen to bring up the control center. I tried restarting my phone several time, I eventually tried to factory reset my phone and still nothing. I'm currently stuck on the set up but I can't seem to finish it since I can't tap on the bottom part of the screen. I did not drop it or spilled water on it or whatever before this started happening. Although I dropped it once, a couple months ago but everything is intact and well except for the glass. [link] [comments]  |

I know that this number is based on usage, but I was curious to know if any of you believe that a 1% decrease in that amount of time is believable. I thought that the battery would remain at 100% for longer than that, but I might be totally incorrect! | Posted: 06 Jul 2019 08:05 PM PDT Long story…basically I lent my iPad to my mom to use at her store. She tends to watch her shows or listens to the radio while she's working. Her customer came in one day upset, stole the iPad and crushed it in a fit of anger. In panic and worry she told me about it, so I put the iPad on lost mode because it was stolen at the time. And I didn't want the guy to possibly find any important information that was on the iPad itself. I forgot the passcode and I didn't bother to even write it down at the time cause I was so stressed with exams already. I just assumed my mom would remember cause it was the passcode she chose herself, but she forgot it as well. His mom eventually came back and gave us the iPad and money to replace the screen. However, since I could no longer unlock it…I couldn't even go to replace the screen. And my mom changed the wifi at home and her workplace, so the iPad has no way of connecting to the wifi automatically anymore. Unless I were to unlock the iPad to change to setup the settings. I even tried connecting the iPad to my Macbook, but it doesn't even recognize my Macbook. It would ask me to unlock the iPad to accept that the Macbook can access its files. I don't know what to do to gain access to the iPad now. Wouldn't mind factory resetting it, if possible. TL;DR Can't unlock iPad cause it's still on lost mode, but I don't remember the password I made to unlock it from lost mode. Also, the iPad has no automatic access to wifi anymore. | Upgraded XCode Simulators slow MacMini down significantly Posted: 06 Jul 2019 07:52 PM PDT I recently upgraded Xcode to 10.2.1 on my Mac Mini to push a client app to the App store. After upgrading, simulators take sometimes 5+ minutes to start up, and significantly slow down the entire computer. Spotlight is sluggish, running commands in the command line that used to take seconds now take minutes, the simulators themselves are almost unusabley slow with noticeable delays in clicking on events, even opening the "About This Mac" has noticeable delay. What is strange about this issue is that Activity Monitor always shows CPU between 70-90% idle and memory stays within a few GB of the max. Mac Specs: Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5 Memory: 16 GB 1600 MhZ DRR3 Seems like there is either an issue with the Simulators performance or my Mac Mini is simply not capable of handling them. I work remotely and this computer is my livelihood, so I cannot afford to have this kind of slow down as it greatly affects my productivity. I've tried a few solutions online but none of them have helped: Should I just get a newer MacMini or is there is some fix I'm missing? I appreciate any thoughts or help! [link] [comments]  |

I would like to go about deleting all my pictures from my camera roll but have them backed up somehow either in a folder that I can access whenever or stay in the photos app itself but don't want them on my phone/ iPad. What's the best way about doing this? I'd also like to move that folder onto an external hard drive so I will have them for many years to come regardless if I stay an Apple user. | Technical help buying a MacBook Posted: 06 Jul 2019 03:33 PM PDT So I've decided I want to by a MacBook, for music creation and I'll probably buy a an external gpu box so I can game on it too. Briefly speaking to the man in the Apple shop the MacBook Pro was the best to get as is the most powerful. I've favoured the i9 as it's way more future proof but now I'm getting confused as there's the basic is 2.3ghz with a 4.8ghz OC or 2.4 w/ 5ghz boost - are the both still the i9-9880H just with presets set differently for £180 extra??? Can you upgrade the ram yourself too like every other pc/laptop or have to use the upgrade from purchase? Is ram easy to find? How easy is the SSD/hard drive swap, same as other laptops? does changing it yourself void warrantee? Is it m.2 and 2.5"? Please help a man figure this out [link] [comments]  |
| iMessage Not Working For Specific Contacts Posted: 06 Jul 2019 03:12 PM PDT iPhone 8, IOS 12.3.1 I'm in a foreign country and I'm trying to send an iMessage to friend but it keeps trying to send as a text message. Two days ago I tried to send a message to a friend over iMessage, despite the fact I've been on airplane mode since I arrived my phone keeps trying to send text messages, rather than iMessages. I waited until yesterday and tried again, same problem. I tried looking up solutions ranging from rebooting iMessage to taking out my SIM card but nothing worked. I can send iMessages to everyone else I know. My friend told me that they can send iMessages to the person I'm trying to message so I know it isn't on their end. While I was trying different solutions I tried sending a message to a friend that iMessage was working with without wifi and now I can't send them iMessages either. | Posted: 06 Jul 2019 07:25 AM PDT I woke up this morning to find my login screen looking exactly like this (not my photo). After logging in, things got even more trippier -- my desktop background, dock, and all menus were rainbow -- wtf. Even weirder is that all applications run and look normal (I'm using Chrome right now to write this post). Seems like an OS problem right? I imagine if it were the GPU or logic board none of the applications would work. I'm running Mojave (10.14.4) on my Mid 2012 MBP. Thoughts on what I should do? | Watch Series 4: Time to sync music Posted: 06 Jul 2019 02:56 PM PDT How much time does it take you to sync an X number of songs? I bought the AW4 and an iPhone Xs yesterday. I'm in the process of syncing 183 songs onto the AW4 and right now, with 96 songs synced, 32+ minutes have gone by.
