Incoming calls taking up the entire screen need to go away in the age of 20 robocalls a day

    Posted: 28 Jun 2019 01:05 PM PDT

I'm not paying for a service to block robo calls because it seems completely unethical when the phone companies should be doing something to stop it.

It would be so easy to implement but much like the intrusive volume screen, I'm sure they have no plans to make it better, but here's to hoping ios13 takes care of this in some way.

I know it sounds bitchy but if you're one of millions of Americans that get dozens of these a day, it's so frustrating to use your phone these days. I seriously believe that ignoring these calls has increased the frequency of them.

    Is iphone 7/7+ eyes friendly?

    Posted: 29 Jun 2019 10:05 AM PDT

Asking this because when I had iphone 6s+, I got headaches / eye strain after little use which I didn't get with other phones. I even googled it and found it I wasn't the only one. HOWEVER, googling about iphone 7 isn't showing any posts about it so thought to ask here.

I'm an android user and would love to get my hands on a iphone for the change and the good camera & smooth interface.

Privacy & Security iOS vs Android

    Posted: 29 Jun 2019 07:15 AM PDT

    Hello everyone!

I've been an iPhone user from the 3G to the 4s and shortly the iPhone X. I've been now on Android for a good while but I'm getting more and more uneasy about Google use of my private life. And for a good while now I keep hearing that iOS is more secure and that Apple cares about their customer's privacy. My only issue is I cannot seem to find an actual expert opinion explaining how it is more private and secure and why. Whether a blog post, article, video etc... I found a lot of posts depicting opinions but no actual facts or explanation to back it up. So I was hoping to find more answers and help directly in the iPhone community and see if the rumors are based on facts or if it is a marketing stunt.

Thanks in advance for taking the time :) I'm thinking about switching for that only reason !

iPhone XR, IPhone XS Max or just wait?

    Posted: 29 Jun 2019 09:36 AM PDT

    Hi guys,

My 7 plus feels a bit clunky at times and I feel it's time for an upgrade. Where I live the 64g Xr is about $850 And the Xs Max is about $500 more. Is it worth investing those $500? Is the quality difference worth it. Or maybe just wait for the new ones.

Would really like to hear your opinions.

    Thanks,

My beloved blue iPhone Xr just died on me very suddenly.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2019 08:12 PM PDT

I was walking home and watching a Youtube video, the phone had about 50-60% charge on it. I put my phone down then when I picked it up it wouldn't turn on. I tied plugging it and nothing, completely dead, what could have happened to it? I made an appt for the Genius Bar, but still makes you wonder.

***Update this morning I thought I would try starting the phone again, this time the icon indicating the phone needs to be charged came on, why didn't it do that yesterday? I am charging it and it almost fully charged. I had already scheduled a Genius Bar appt for today should I keep it or was this a one time occurrence? PS prefer not to spend my weekend at the Apple Store.

****One more thing I have been a Reddit user for 12 years and the iPhone/Apple subreddit is by far the friendliest and most helpful!

What app is this? I used to play this game 24/7!

    Should I upgrade now?

    Posted: 29 Jun 2019 06:40 AM PDT

My phone battery isn't doing too good (its almost three years old) and I'm thinking about upgrading. Should I trade my iPhone 7 in now and get an XR for £529, an XS for £779 or wait until the new iPhones come out? The problem with waiting for the new iPhones is that I might get less trade-in value and it will be more expensive.

Does anyone know why you can’t put $2 or $3 in the Search bar on the home screen?

    Posted: 29 Jun 2019 08:15 AM PDT

    Doesn't work with $, €, ¥ or £ either.

EDIT: To specify, I'm talking about the Search bar on the home screen of your iPhone, in which you can convert currencies, but apparently not 2 or 3 of the given currency.

    iPhone 8 Plus display issue

    Posted: 29 Jun 2019 08:09 AM PDT

I bought my "new" iPhone 8 Plus a few days ago Grade B refurbished (slight scratches and stuff like that) but I am impressed of how few there are. Battery was replaced too. Anyways, today I stumbled over a rather strange issue: If i lay my phone for example on a wooden table and dont touch the aluminum edge of the device, the touchscreen won't operate properly. It senses a touch in a different location of the display. But if I put one finger on the metal edge it works perfectly fine. I don't know if other people have had this issue before but I hope to get a response.

Another question: Would it make sense to buy a case if the display won't work the way it should when the edge isn't being touched by a conductive material?
