    Thoughts about the iPad Air 3

    2 weeks ago, I bought an iPad Air 3 Wifi Version because of the recently announced iPadOS. I was immediately sold by that because I can finally use an iPad as a substitute for my bulky gaming laptop. After 2 weeks, here are my thoughts:

    For performance, the iPad Air 3 is excellent for light work, multimedia, and gaming. I tried playing games like GTA Vice City, Fallout Shelter, Inside, and some other light games. Didn't experience some lags or slow downs thanks to the A12. Apps also load fast and the UI is very smooth.

    Another thing that I loved about my iPad is the battery. The battery life is phenomenal! Overall, I use about 30 percent per day. That's around 2.5 to 3 days of use! I would also like to mention that there's no drain when the device is not being used which is great.

    For the display, it was just okay. It is just enough for all my needs. Using a Samsung phone spoiled me in terms of the display. Hopefully, the future iPad models would use OLED or Micro LED.

    As for the apps that I use (productivity, gaming, etc), all of them are great. Before, I tend to use 3rd party apps. But right now, I'm trying apps made by Apple like Pages, Keynote, and Numbers. So far, the apps are useful enough to finish my work and be productive.

    Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. It really is the perfect tablet. Pairing it with iPadOS would make it even better. Right now, I've been thinking about buying the smart keyboard but I'll have to see if I really need it. Anyway, thanks for reading.     Opinions on the idea of Taptic feedback for the Pencil?

    Just an idea i had recently, I know it'd be pretty useless and gimmicky, but adding a tiny but precise Taptic engine could provide a lot of texture and feel for different brushes and stuff like 3D touch-like feedback for apps that support using pen pressure for selections, things like that.

    Maybe a few generations from now, what do you think? I definitely like the idea of it, as unnecessary as it is lol.

    Hey folks!

    I've been doing a bit of rudimentary googling and haven't come up with any solutions for this, so I thought I would ask here! I also ran a search here and couldn't find and post-iPadOS-beta threads.

    Is there any service that allows one to use their iPhone as a Bluetooth trackpad? Theoretically, this would allow you to use your iPhone, flat on a desktop, as a mouse for your iPad. I know there are solutions that allow you to do this with Windows/MacOS computers, but they rely on wifi and it doesn't seem as though they want to work between two iOS-based devices. I try to do things in a minimalist fashion and I REALLY want mouse functionality on my iPad. I could get something like a Magic Trackpad, but I believe these need to be wired into the iPad at the moment, plus this would mean carrying around another accessory. A proper mouse feels rather too clunky to carry everywhere, and I won't necessarily always have a surface available for it. My dream would be to be able to take out my iPhone and iPad—both of which I'll have with me anyways—and use the former as my mouse for the latter. Is there currently any way to do this?

    Can ipad pro 2018 play movies directly from a micro sd adapter?

    I want to sell my laptop as i don't game on it anymore as it's performance is obsolete, and an ipad is easier to turn on and start using it. but i want more storage for movies. Can i use a micro sd adapter for the ipad and play movies directly from it?

    iPadOS Beta - How to be useful?

    First time installing beta software on my device and love that I can get an early preview of iPadOS. I wanted to ask what are some best practices for submitting Feedback and reporting bugs etc? I want to actually contribute to fixing issues rather than just simply use buggy software!

    iPadOS 13 + Apple Pencil with small/floating keyboard is great with Swipe

    I got an Apple Pencil recently, but wasn't a fan of trying to type on the large keyboard with it.

    On the latest iPad OS 13 beta, you can move the keyboard so it becomes floating and small; basically a floating version of the iPhone keyboard layout. And with iOS 13, you get Swipe text entry.

    The small keyboard + swipe + Apple Pencil makes typing with the on-screen keyboard pretty fun.

    • To go from the large keyboard to small: Go somewhere to activate the keyboard, hold on the keyboard hide button (bottom-right), and select floating

    • To go from the compact/small keyboard to large: Drag the keyboard from the small horizontal bar on the bottom to the bottom of the screen

    So what mouse with the most buttons does everyone recommend? Also, if the mouse has one of those dongles, will that need to be plugged in at all times?

    I am looking to pick up a mouse for iPadOS, but i am unsure which to get...i keep seeing all these mouse options that include that usb dongle to connect with, but i really don't want to have a USB-C to USB dongle plugge din at all times.

    Anyone have recommendations?

    Now with the Apple Pencil swipe-up gesture we finally have a feature for full page screenshooting! I am hyped.

    • How well does it work? Can you take full page shots of all apps or is it limited to webpages?
    • And although I have the Apple Pencil, I am interested: Is there also a way for people without an Apple Pencil to access that feature?
    • I hope that it is available for my iPad 2018 as well?

    I am still waiting for a more stable version of iPadOS since I am relying on it to work in my everyday study life.

    Trade 2018 MBP for Pro

    I have a 2018 MBP I realised I can trade in and get an iPad pro, keyboard, and pencil 2 with no out of pocket cost. I use my laptop for email and surfing the internet. I think the pro would fulfil my needs. Thoughts?

    Apps to sync android phone and iPad.

    Thanks to suggestions and guidance from members of this subreddit, I got my first iPad (6th gen). I find it awesome. I am a student and use it mostly for reading books and watching movies. I am currently using an Android phone. I was wondering if there were any apps for syncing between android and ipad (like clipboard, annotations done while reading books etc.). What can I do to make the integration between these devices better? Please provide suggestions.

    iPad Pro Bricked because of iTunes update...

    I was updating my iPad to iOS 12.3.1 and when the update started to install (with the Apple logo on the iPad), it stopped and said on my PC "iPad could not update, Error 26".

    What do I do?
