The reason WatchOS 6 faces aren’t coming to Series 1-3

    Posted: 28 Jun 2019 07:03 AM PDT

If I had to bet, it's because, in Apple's estimation at least, it would be ugly and probably wouldn't work very well. And I think they're right.

Of course, the old watches could technically squeeze those faces or something similar into the available pixels. But given the larger screens, rounded edges, and general polish of the Series 4, I can't imagine them looking anywhere near as good, especially the California face. Look at how weak the series 4 launch faces (vapor, fire, etc.) looked on the old models vs the new ones. Add to that the processing power needed to run and update all the extra complications, I don't think these new faces would be a very enjoyable experience on my series 2. But I think in the end, the answer is that most of those full color, high density new faces would probably look ugly and they did not want to redesign the new faces to fit the old hardware.

    Polywatch works

    Polywatch works

Last week I banged my watch pretty bad off of an aluminum railing and asked for some advice. Most of what I heard was that poly watch ruins the screen etc. Well I tried it and it worked like a charm.

Heres a link to my original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleWatch/comments/c59c0s/screen_scratch/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

Below are a before and after image of the scratch.

For those interested, this is the Polywatch repair I used. Followed the directions exactly and it worked as advertised.

Will water be enough to clean my watch after a workout?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2019 08:04 AM PDT

Apple recommends water or just a damp cloth to clean the watch does this really clean off sweat from working out?

Update to my review of the Ouluoqi link band

    Posted: 28 Jun 2019 12:13 AM PDT

After about 3 months I am getting ready to throw this band away. Links have popped off for little to no reason many times and I have had to reconnect them repeatedly. The clasp also is not entirely reliable. I do not wear it overly tight on my wrist, so it is not a problem caused by strain.

I do not recommend this band after all.. It looks fantastic but I can't trust it to reliably keep my watch on my wrist. Waste of $50, should have stuck with my $20 generic sport band which never gave me any trouble after more than a year of use 🤷🏻‍♂️

Burning less calories with Yoga workout?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2019 08:28 AM PDT

I've been doing workouts for the past few years and I have been finding that if I classify my yoga sculpt workout as "other" it burns way more calories than if I classify it as "yoga". I've also found that it'll tap me asking me if I am done with my workout when classifying as "yoga" even though my heart rate is usually over 170 when it asks.

Anyone else have this experience? Am I not classifying Yoga Sculpt classes correctly? Why am I burning less calories when I classify it as yoga?

    Disconnect from iPhone otg?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2019 07:57 AM PDT

One of the biggest reasons I picked up an Apple Watch was to be able to leave my phone behind as I'm something of a minimalist. Anyways, due to the excellently strong Bluetooth connections between the two (iPhone & Watch) I find my Watch's performance to be hindered by it when in the midst of being close enough to maintain connection, but far enough to inhibit any reliable communication. The only one I know how to disconnect the two is to disable bluetooth in its entirety on my iPhone; a pretty cumbersome option. Am I not able to toggle a setting on the watch itself?

    Apple Watch Email Notifcation Issue

    Posted: 28 Jun 2019 07:45 AM PDT

    Hey There,

Does anyone else have an issue with Email Notifications that come in and can't seem to load the HTML. I get a spinning loading screen at the bottom while the email is in plain text. Most times it happens then it seems to fix itself and then come back.......

Sometimes a reboot of the watch fixes the issue, but this is only with the notification if I go into the Email App it displays the HTML Email no problem....... Not sure what to do this is super annoying!

    Understanding/calibrating “Exercise” in activity

    Posted: 28 Jun 2019 07:05 AM PDT

Hello, so I haven't had my watch too long and I've recently starting attempting exercise again. For the last two days I intended on 30 minutes of exercise per watch request just to get started, and typically I run all I can and walk a bit between to catch air, as I'm vastly out of shape and just can't manage 30 minutes straight currently. However, I always seem to be taking what the treadmill says of about 50 minutes to get to the 30 minute requirement on the watch. I'm worried it's not properly registering all of the activity. Typically I walk about 30 seconds-1 minute for every 3 minutes of running.

I also notice that my move goal is 800, yet after full exercise and essentially 30-35 minutes running and 20 walking im only ever at 200?

I need help with my watch

    Posted: 27 Jun 2019 11:10 PM PDT

So back in April I got a series 4 with my cell provider AT&T (cellular). I thought everything was working smoothly, until I left my phone in my hotel room at a convention.

Thought no worries I have cellular on the watch and went about the convention. A few hours passed nothing on my watch. No connection to cellular in downtown Seattle.

Get back to the hotel room and phone connects to watch via Bluetooth and everything floods in.

I've dug about apple forums can't find a thing. I talk to AT&T for a few hours several times, can't fix it. Tell me it's after 14 days take it to apple still under warranty.

Genius Bar is like oh yeah no cellular connection oh there's no sim let's ship it to AppleCare are. Get email from AppleCare. They say everything is fine no issues sending it back.

    What can/should I do?

    Bad update?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2019 06:36 AM PDT

Anyone else experiencing the terrible battery life after watchos 5.2.1? Lots of people on the Apple forum have been complaining about it. I just sent my watch in for them to "take a look at it."

    WatchOS6 Help?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2019 05:19 AM PDT

    Hey y'all.

So I got the public beta for IOS13 and the dev beta for WatchOS6 tonight and I noticed immediately that I had no connectivity with my watch (no notifications, music control or messages sending etc) so I tried to repair it and I legit can't pair it again. It won't do anything when I put the watch in the viewfinder and I can't pair manually either.

    What do?

Why isn’t there a sports version of the Apple Watch?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2019 05:15 AM PDT

Previously had a S2, now on a S4. The S4 is a massive step up as a running watch and I love it, but it seems a no brainer that the addition of some programmable buttons would help Apple Watch destroy competitors such as Garmin. AW has great multifunction capability, unbelievable hardware and display, but how good would it be to have a start/stop/lap button?

    Locking while working out

    Posted: 27 Jun 2019 08:18 PM PDT

Tried to google this but none of the info seemed to work. I'd like to lock my AW while I work out so Siri doesn't go off all the time. Is water lock the only option? I have a series 2 if that matters. Every forum I read gave me an option for a lock on the workout screen or control center but the water lock is the only option i have?

If I'm injured, how do I stop my Apple Watch from urging me to briskly walk?

    Posted: 27 Jun 2019 06:47 PM PDT

I managed to fracture my femur. How do I stop my Apple Watch from urging me to go on brisk walks to close my rings? (Googling yielded surprisingly zero ideas.)
