    I'm such an idiot. My brother took all of my graduation photos and air dropped them to my phone. I told him he could erase the photos from his photo album (and permanently erase them from the trash bin as well to save up memory space).

    Today I've been organizing all my photos by uploading them to Google Photos. I have the photos on my phone (iPhone 7+) so I created an album in Google Photos and uploaded the graduation photos directly from my phone. It's my first time using Google Photos. Once the upload was completed, I figured it would be safe to delete the photos from my iPhone (and emptied out the trash bin too). But after doing so, I think it also deleted all the photos I had uploaded to Google Photos. I don't know why it did this. I don't back up my iPhone to iCloud.

    Is there ANY chance of me being able to recover my graduation photos? I'm devastated and I feel so stupid for making such a stupid mistake.

    My iPhone 7 keeps crashing when I open Snapchat.

    A lot of times when I open snapchat the camera screen will turn a dark green and shortly after my phone will force freeze and crash and won't let me go back on Snapchat for some time. This has also happened with FaceTime but only once it's mainly with snapchat. Anyone know what the problem with my phone is?

    Haptic touch on XR not working at all

    Hi all. I just got a new XR today and I can't feel any haptic feedback. I tried resetting the phone and looked at all the haptic settings (that I've seen anyway) and it still doesn't work. Is there anything I could try?

    External drive crashes disk utility every time I try and work on it.

    I am trying to format my 3TB hard drive to have 3 partitions. 1 for time machine fro my iMac, 1 for Time Machine n my MacBook, and one for regular external storage. Well I was partitioning it and some weird glitch happened when only 1 1TB portion was showing, so I tried to revert it, and disk utility froze, and now it freezes every time I try and select the disk in disk utility. Please help!

    I just bought this MacBook, it's the 2018 model, 13-inch Pro. All of my stuff from the old laptop (early-2011 13-inch Pro) came onto this one via Time Machine migration. I can't remember if the other machine had this issue or not, but it's certainly noticeable on this one.

    But basically, in any program besides Clip Studio Paint (I mean, even Photoshop doesn't have this problem...), images appear as they do in a browser. But the screen in CSP scales down my canvas so that 100% looks like 50%, and screen as a whole is scaling down to the point that a full-screen screenshot, when shown in a browser, looks twice the size of what I see firsthand.

    And of course, it's vice-versa for things coming from online. My current wallpaper looks tiny if I don't fill the screen, but it was huge in Chrome.

    Does anyone know how to fix this? Should I nuke from orbit and send over only the files I need, and not my old system prefs? Or is it just normal and I have to get used to this?

    EDIT: Looks like the display is "double pixeled," so is there a way to disable that?

    macOS could not be installed on your computer, please help!

    Hi, I was updating my girlfriend's computer (she previously had OS X 10.9 Mavericks and I was trying to install Mojave on it. When installation was finished, I receive the error "macOS could not be installed on your computer. The operation couldn't be completed. (com.apple.DiskManagement error -69854.). Quit the installer to restart your computer and try again"

    I attempt to quit the installer and choose a startup disk, however there are no options for "select the system you want to use to start up your computer". The box is just blank.

    Any suggestions at all?? Thank you in advance!

    She has a 2012 Macbook pro.

    Compressing an iphone backup

    Hi, is it possible to compress the file with the iphone backup and upload it to (one) drive? Will I be able to, in the event of losing both my phone and computer, restore my phone by downloading it from the drive? or will it damage the backup? Thanks

    2015 MBP Slow - PMS/SMC Problems Detected - should I even attempt to fix at the Apple Store?

    So I have a 2015 MBP, i5, really great machine I spent a small fortune (for me) on. Today I noticed it was running insanely slow, very high kernel CPU usage (that red bar part of CPU use). I did a SMC and PRAM reset, no dice. Diagnostics check indicated:

    PPN001 power management issue

    SMC006 system controller issue

    I set up an appointment at the Apple store tomorrow afternoon. I am not really thrilled about this.

    I guess my question is assuming there was some kind of thermal failure inside the MPB, would the costs to get this repaired make any sense at this point?

    I am nuking the hard disk as we speak (I have a time machine backup and nothing is critical on this machine).

    iPad 4, black screen, stuck in restore on iTunes

    I have an iPad 4, bought super cheap off eBay thinking it was a simple USB port repair. The screen won't turn on. I can get it into recovery mode and it'll appear in iTunes on my PC. I click restore. It is stuck at "preparing iPad for restore."

    Any ideas how to fix this issue?

    Question about an old iPad, never used Apple products

    So I got an older iPad from an uncle, who wasn't using it. He doesn't remember the login for it. He tried telling me his Apple ID password on the phone, but it didn't work. So I'm going over there this week to see if we can reset it. But I have a question:

    Would an iPad use an older password for the Apple ID? Or is it going to use the current one in Apple's system? He last used this iPad a really long time ago, and I'm sure he has changed his Apple ID on his desktop since then.

    Help with iPhone 8 Plus speakers

    I don't know if it's just a lint or dirt problem, but when I turn my phone sideways to watch a video full screen, the sound from the bottom becomes quieter or muffled and only the speakers at the top of the screen work. If it's dirt/lint how can I clean it

    App to prevent other apps from being deleted/password protected?

    I'll be real with you chief: I'm needing to cut back on porn, so I've downloaded a porn block app to prevent this, but I still get the temptation to delete the app and bypass it. I know you can switch off deleting the apps in Settings, but again, I can always switch that back on again.

    Is there an app that protects apps from being deleted with a password of some sort?

    Disabled Ipod touch restoring

    We were given a disabled iPod touch for our kid, and I'm having a heck of a time trying to restore it. First off, I have no idea how to tell what "gen" it is, so I can't tell you that. When charged and screen on, it says "Ipod is disabled, connect to iTunes." That's it, no time limit. I used apple's instructions to hold the volume down and plug in to pc, didn't work, just went back to disabled screen. I also tried holding the home button, same thing, no dice. This was done with the power off, of course. If it helps identify the device, the power button is on the top right, it uses lightning connection and it's kinda matte slate grey. Any tips? I am restoring using a PC.

    Macbook Pro performance questionable

    I just purchased a new Macbook Pro during Easter. When I started it up for the first time it crashed and crashed again another week later. Since then it has not crashed again, but I have had Macbooks before and I feel like the performance of my brand spanking new machine isn't as good as I was expecting. What's the best way to test the performance of my Macbook? Is there a benchmark test I can take or should I just take it in to an Apple store and see if they can find anything? Just wanting to check if it is up to standard or if I may have a slightly faulty machine. Thank you!

    MacBook Pro 17” no WiFi hardware installed

    Hey I have a 2011 17" MacBook Pro and a couple weeks ago I was using it and suddenly chrome said there was no internet. Huh. Check WiFi. X. No hardware installed. Well. That's weird. Reboot No hardware installed. Uhh. Hmm. Ok. Check online. Smc reset and nvram reset. No hardware installed. Well ain't that a thing. Odd thing is Bluetooth works fine. Delete / revert continuity activation. No hardware installed. Booted from an old Mac hdd on external device. No hardware installed. Grrr Ok. Buy a new card and cable from eBay. Arrived last week. No hardware installed. Swap old card with new cable. No hardware installed. New card old cable No hardware installed. GRRRRRRR buy a second one. Arrived on Tuesday as I was leaving for business. Installed Friday No hardware installed. Swapped various cards. Cables. Smc resets. Nvram resets. Nothing. Bluetooth has worked the entire time.

    How likely is it that somehow the logic board just crapped out? Is that something someone could fix (maybe even me) without swapping logic boards?

    Trying not to destroy my computer

    I have a 13" MacBook Pro (2015 model) with very little storage (the lowest that was available at the time... bad idea, but here we are). I am a chemistry researcher, and there is a program that I would like to run on my computer so I have the convenience of working at home versus the lab. This program takes up a lot of space, and my computer freaks out when I try to use it, however, I have a 4 terabyte portable hard drive, which I was able to download the program and save to, so I can run the program from this hard drive. My question is, are there any risks I should be aware of in operating in this way? I want to make sure that this will not in some way break down my computer. Thanks!!

    Photos for Mac keeps freezing during import

    Hello,

    I am having problems importing photos from my iPhone into photos on my MacBook.

    I get random problems.

    Sometimes all my photos will import and other times only a few will import.

    And for some reason none will import. And photos seems to freeze.

    I have rebooted my MacBook and my iPhone and I have repaired my library. I have made sure that photos app on my iPhone isn't loaded.

    I have no idea what to do?

    Ive tried everything. Its stuck on the Apple logo. I tried reseting it by holding the power and home button and it didn't work. On my Mac I did get a pop up that said that "update iPhone to access" or something like that but I was in the middle of watching porn so I just ignored it and I clicked away and immediately regretted it and I don't know how to get it back. Someone please help
