Right now I have a Macbook 12 (the mid-2016 update) and I'm really disappointed. The battery life is rather poor (especially if compared to a Macbook Air I had in the past and even if compared to an earlier Macbook Pro). So I'm really torn: Should I go for a Macbook Pro or the new Macbook Air? Should I actually go for a non-Apple laptop (and this is breaking my heart, as I'm obsessed with Apple products)? Posted: 12 May 2019 02:03 PM PDT hi so i was sipping on some white claw (this was my first one too. i'm pissed) and just opened it and spilled it all on the keyboard and trackpad. basically 300ml of liquid straight on my macbook. i immediately turned it upside down to let the liquid drip and took a paper towel and dried it off. then shut it down. all this in 5-10 secs after it happened now it's in a tent mode upside down so any liquid can exit through the keyboard (not sure if this is right) any help would be great. i'm guessing letting it stay off for a day? edit: it's a 2016 touchbar [link] [comments]  | ||

| Should I wait for 2019 models or buy the 2018 Air? Posted: 12 May 2019 01:00 AM PDT So I'm a uni student looking to upgrade from my 2015 MBP. I'm a light user and just use it for basic tasks (YT/Netflix, MS Office), nothing power demanding. So I was wondering whether it's worth it to get the 2018 Air or should I wait for the 2019 models cause I heard there might be a redesign this year? Three main questions I have are: 1) I know that the Butterfly keyboards have issues but will a software like Unshaky get rid of the problems for good? 2) Is the brightness that bad on the new Air and how does it compare to the 2015 MBP? 3) Will an average user be able to differentiate between the 2018 Air and the 2018 Pro in terms of color accuracy cause I heard the screen is a bit washed out? I'm considering putting a little money in it to get it up and running. I don't NEED it but I'm a nerd so here we are. Im guessing it would cost $150ish. | Best video player in for MacBook Posted: 12 May 2019 02:17 AM PDT I have seen a lot of people recommending IINA player, and I was using that for a couple of months.When I played 10 bit hevc 1080p video in IINA, the rendering was really bad. The color in night scenes were desaturated. My phones renders the colours much much better(which is a budget phone). Also, the night scenes were a bit greenish. Tried VLC, felt a bit better than IINA. Is there any other player, or is there any settings in IINA that I should be aware of. Mine is 13" MacBook pro 2017. [link] [comments]  |
