How long before we start seeing keyboard cases for the ipad mini 2019?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2019 11:09 AM PDT

I think i want to get a keyboard case for the ipad mini 2019 to make it the most ultra portable "if i have to get some work done on the go" device, Question is how long before we start seeing some from possibly logitech or zagg or some other company that has a respectable product?

I was considering the keys to go by logi but i want something like a clam shell case with keyboard design.

It has been over a month since the mini5 launched and i don't remember how long it took previous versions of ipads to have a good amount of options for accessories to show up but i thought i would ask here. I am growing impatient each day lol as there is not a lot of options so far...

    Let me know thanks!

Missed having YouTube’s Lo fi hip hop stations run in the background while I write.. this is my workaround to avoid paying for YouTube premium. Works fine until apple fixes tabbed safari browsing and allows YouTube to run in the background

    Posted: 30 Apr 2019 02:39 PM PDT

im really hesistant on using a case...it looks so nice naked...but the repair costs scare me..debating if applecare is worth it for the 2018 ipad pros...how is everyone handling the ipad so far..for those that are using naked. I am usually really careful with my electronics...never dropped my ipad mini and 9.7 naked

I just replaced the LCD and Digitizer in my son's iPad Mini 2 and the touch funcionality isn't working

    Posted: 30 Apr 2019 02:17 PM PDT

I've made sure that the all the connections are connected securly and put all screws back where they belong, is there anything else I can try before I decide that it's a faulty digitizer?

I'm assuming it's a faulty digitizer, but what sucks is that I purchased two digitizers from two different people and neither of them seem to work

It’s basic, but the fact that luma fusion can do green screen luma keying is pretty awesome... bodes well for the future, combined with procreate it’s kind of amazing...

ipad as temporary substitute for mac mini??

    Posted: 30 Apr 2019 11:32 AM PDT

i have recently been shopping for a mac mini, and the prices are beyond my expectation and pocketbook! ive read thru this 'what should i buy' thread, and found some good info, but not all of my questions were answered. i thought for a while, a year or so, i could purchase an ipad, that would hold me over until i can get the mac mini. i have a monitor and a blue tooth keyboard. here are some of my questions: 1. i have an old ipad (10 years old) that is not recognized as a device when i plug it into my mac book pro. would the new ipads be recognizeable as a device if i plugged it into a pro? 2. with an i pad, would I be able to back up data to a time machine? 3. most of my work involves writing, so would i be able to use microsoft word, or other software, for example on a new ipad? 4. would i be able to use firefox, to be able to use ad blockers such as ublock origin? 5. i just read on wikipedia that new ipads have a 'lightning' connector. and they mentioned that one could drive a monitor using lightning. is this true? (my monitor has a DIV jack). 6. would i be able to download vids from youtube with the correct download software? 7. i wouldnt take the ipad with me when i leave the house so size does not matter much, i am more interested in features, but i dont require a large screen since i have a monitor.

Slimmest case for iPad Pro that covers both back and front?

    Posted: 29 Apr 2019 09:09 PM PDT

I don't really need a keyboard badly enough to pay $250 for the only slim keyboard case from apple.

    Anybody have any suggestions?

Otterbox Symmetry for iPad Mini 5

    Posted: 30 Apr 2019 04:04 AM PDT

Like many here lately, I've been looking for a case for my brand new Mini 5 that fits the official Smart cover. I don't have an Apple store near by, so I had to buy it blind, but fortunately didn't have to get disappointed with it. I originally thought it'd be all hard plastic, but while the center part is pretty rigid, the sides are kind of rubbery feeling. It looks pretty decent IMO, exposing the device's back.

The buttons feel a bit stiff to press but I can live with that. The spine of the case comes off, so it fits the Smart cover as promised. It also goes back on easily if you want to operate the Mini without the cover. There is a holder for the Apple Pencil and it seems to hold it there pretty tight.

After having the official Apple back cover for almost 4 years with my previous Mini, I was afraid this one would be too slippery, but it fortunately wasn't a problem with this thing. The biggest question is whenever dirt gets between the case and the device from the pretty open side with the place for the Smart cover.

The cover is a tad bigger than the Mini 4's official case, but I can still fit the iPad with the cover on into my jacket's inner pocket without problems.

    Here's some pictures

    iPad Pro 11" vs. 10.5"

    Posted: 29 Apr 2019 04:24 PM PDT

Hey everyone! I'm currently studying animation and am looking to get an ipad pro to use for drawing. It will be my main drawing device since I'm going to be moving around a lot, especially during summer. I'll mainly use procreate or clipstudio, and if any good animation apps are released, I'll be using that too.

Now, I'm having a hard time deciding whether I should get the 11" or the 10.5", mostly because of the cost difference. I heard that the 10.5 goes on sale for really good prices, but I really dislike how the apple pen charges on that one. The 11" seems perfect, but without the headphone jack (i currently don't own bluetooth earphones), and the cost is extreme lmao.

Any advice from people who own either device? Is the 11" worth the price?

I got a different wattage charger with my iPad Air 3 than those mentioned on videos, and everywhere

    Posted: 29 Apr 2019 05:50 PM PDT

Just purchased my Air 3 and saw the charger included is a 10W (5.1V/2.1A) rather than those I saw while checking online - 12W (5.2A/2.4V). It's been charging for 30 minutes, while being at the same % age.

    Suggestions?

I live in India if that matters. Is it a country thing?

    Considering screen protector for Pro

    Posted: 29 Apr 2019 11:34 PM PDT

I somehow miraculously and dramatically got a 2017 12.9 inch model, 512g, LTE, Space Gray model, super mint condition, super great deal. I even took a train to buy it and in order to come back home I had to... Let's not mention about it.

I have used an Air 2 for a long time. It had a cracked glass protector, second hand high-end model(128Gb LTE), great price as well. I got rid of the cracked protector from the previous owner eventually. I am by little means a careful person, but I managed to use it without a single scratch or crack in front, by an average kiosk level case and my own care, even though I at home take the pad out of the case and use it naked! ...Although at backside still made some scars :(

Which is why I am babying this Pro so much now. I didn't even remove the plastic seal and downloaded apps and movies through the seal. I am going to get the rear protected by matte film immediately the kiosk opens in morning. But for now I am little bit concerned. I really don't like how a front file affects the touch feeling, screen display, and that ruins my experience, in my opinion. Also the Air2 experience showed me how its front is strong against scratch or crack. And for the drop, the protector won't do anything anyway against the impact, will it?

That said, this particular model is very expensive and hard to get by now. For both pads I got a great deal but the money I paid for Pro is almost 3 times of the Air2 and the time and effort spent to get a good deal is not even comparable. Before purchase I never considered a front film but those hardships made me.

By and large I'm confident I won't break the front. I won't use it for some Apple pencil drawing or note-taking, only for basic tablet media consumption. So I guess my finger(nail) can't damage the screen. And a somehow thick case when I am putting it inside my backpack will protect the whole body from pressure, damage or scratch. Sounds just fine, but that words of "just in case" is making me paranoid. The applying fee for whole body is cheaper than twice fee for only rear and side, but I definitively want matte for rear and clear for the front if I have to, so maybe I will pay for two separate fees, which is more expensive, because they are not one set.

How should I do??? Even some previous reddit about this topic had mixed opinions. Someone said it's so hard to make a scratch so just use it, and some others say what if you screwed? something like that...

    Should ? Should I? T.T

    iPad mini (2019)

    Posted: 29 Apr 2019 04:49 PM PDT

    Hey there,

Was wondering if anyone could confirm that previous model iPad mini cases fit on the new iPad mini 5? I've been looking for a gel case and was curious if other fit.

    Thanks in advance.
