    iPhone 8 Screen not working

    Posted: 06 Feb 2018 12:24 AM PST

    Hey guys,

My housemate recently lost his iPhone 8 for a few days and when he finally realised he'd left it outside while gardening, the screen doesnt work.

He tried factory resetting the phone and now the phone is stuck on the screen where it switches between saying Hello in different languages but you cannot interact with the screen at all.

Is the phone damaged due to being in the weather, or could this be software related? And are there any fixes?

    Thankyou

    iPhone 7 Plus hacked. Help/advice?

    Posted: 05 Feb 2018 10:10 PM PST

Hello, I'm in a situation where my phones been hacked for quite some time. I know who is doing it and possibly where they live. It would be for over two years I've been hacked, I found out a few months ago.

I'm open to all advice. I've called Apple, reset all my devices associated with my ID and changed my ID password. I still have the same problem. I'd be willing to create a new I'd if possible but I know for a fact that they can see my live phone activity, as well as access to my camera and microphone.

There's lots of details I'm prepared to offer if asked, it's a long story. Please share if you know any legal recourse that can be taken, I'm interested to hear

I'm pretty new to the app, please forgive me if I'm not Reddit savvy

    Phone won’t restore

    Posted: 05 Feb 2018 10:07 PM PST

I have an iPhone SE that won't turn on. Plugged it into iTunes to restore and it's stuck on "verifying iPhone restore..." and nothing is happening on the phone itself. Tried it numerous times to no avail. Any thoughts?

Apple logo and then iPhone freezes

    Posted: 05 Feb 2018 09:58 AM PST

OK so I was just messing around when my sister comes and tells me "hey my iPhone [5s] doesn't work". I asked her why and she just came back with her phone in the boot mode (it only had the Apple logo), which was rather weird in my opinion. I started trying to hard reset it, you know, holding the home button and the lock screen button until The logo of iTunes and the charger icon popped into the screen, which never happened. I then plugged it in to the PC which supposedly had a back up from her iPhone, but it had no back ups other than the ones made in iCloud and the back up in iCloud was empty and useless. Right now, when I turn it on it just shows the Apple logo and freezes there and doesn't do shit until it runs out of battery or I hold the home and lock screen buttons for it to turn off. As a sidenote her iPhone has iOS 10. Does anyone know what it could be and how to possibly fix it?

iPhone 6 won't turn on after wifi antenna replacement

    Posted: 05 Feb 2018 09:20 AM PST

    Hello!

A couple of months ago I broke my iPhone 6, it refused to turn on. It got detected by Itunes when I plugged it into my computer, but It didn't vibrate when I put it on/off silent mode, and the screen wouldn't turn on. Changing screen didn't work, so I bought a second-hand iPhone 6. It's wifi and Bluetooth reception was bad, but It was working good enough. Today the Wifi got even worse, so I figured I'll change the wifi-antenna by taking the antenna from my old iPhone 6. However, when I tried starting my current iPhone 6 again after the antenna replacement, It shows the exact symptoms of my old iPhone 6. (Detected by Itunes, but screen won't turn on, and changing to a new screen didn't fix it) Anyone has any Idea what has happened? Is it a huge coincidence? Or was the Wifi-antenna "bad" and subsequently broke my phone? (short circuit?) Thankful for any help!!

EDIT: I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery (and screwed all screws on the antenna a bit tighter) and my phone turned on! However, this is with the original wifi-antenna (I switch back to the original one since I thought the antenna might be the cause of the problem). Is it a bad Idea to switch to the antenna of my old phone (the antenna that is working), or is it "safe"? (i.e. can the problem with the phone not turning on have anything to do with the wifi antenna of my old Iphone?)

EDIT #2: I no longer need help, Mods can delete this thread.

iPhone 6 won't ring or vibrate. This is my last attempt at self-help before I go to the Genius Bar.

    Posted: 05 Feb 2018 05:09 AM PST

Hi, My daughter's iPhone 6 won't ring or vibrate for incoming calls or texts. Here are the things I've tried:

    • Checked Do Not Disturb mode is off.

    • Checked speaker is working. It is.

    • Checked mute button on side. (Note: moving this back and forth does not cause a test vibration, as I gather it is supposed to.)

    • Changed ring tones in Settings->Sounds. Test ring will sound.

    • Changed vibration styles in Settings as well. Test vibration does not occur.

    • Completely powered off phone and restarted.

    • The phone does not have any pending software updates.

Because of the fact that both vibration and ring are not working on incoming, but because the test ring does sound, I can't help feeling like this is a software issue rather than a physical problem.

Beyond that I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

    Data usage by disallowed apps?

    Posted: 05 Feb 2018 06:26 AM PST

Recently I had a bill of extra data usage. Since then, I've been closely monitoring exactly what could be the cause and I've found a very strange behavior!

I've activated restrictions, restarted the phone, cleared all statistics and started a game app (this case was Best Fiends).

Going back to the data usage, what was my surprise where the app used data, although it should have been denied!

    Here is the proof: Screenshot!

    What is causing this?

    I'm using an Iphone 6s with iOS 10.3.3 (14G60).

    Thanks!
