| Apple TV 4K not waking or putting Sony TV to sleep (HDMI-CEC problem?) Posted: 31 Mar 2019 12:50 AM PDT My setup: Sony BRAVIA X950G with a Sonos Beam and an Apple TV 4K. I always have to hit the home button on the Apple TV remote multiple times to wake the Sony TV up, and whenever I put the Apple TV to sleep, it never puts the Sony TV to sleep. The Apple TV goes to sleep, just leaving a "no input" screen on the TV. I just end up having to turn the TV off manually. I've tried it with the "Control TVs and Receivers" both turned on and turned off in the Apple TV settings. I also have ensured the HDMI-CEC (in this case, "BRAVIA Sync") is turned on in the Sony TV and I see the Apple TV in the enabled list. I'm not sure if maybe the Sonos is to blame; the "Audio Output" in the Apple TV settings seems to sometimes have the Apple TV icon selected and sometimes the speaker icon selected, and I have no idea why. Maybe it's interfering with the Apple TV's control of the Sony TV? Anyone have a similar experience or can offer any suggestions? Thanks so much. [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 30 Mar 2019 06:23 PM PDT iPhone Is on 12.2 and TV is on 12.2, after updating using the remote from control center has been very glichy. Tapping on the touchpad does nothing, I tried scrolling while pause and also pausing and it doesn't do anything. I currently have the Apple TV hooked up to my tv and then a sound bar connected through ARC. I have never encountered this issue before and have restarted the Apple TV, tv, and sound bar. | Posted: 30 Mar 2019 08:32 AM PDT It's basically become unusable. When I click the remote, the white LED lights up on the front like it's waking up. If I switch the TV source to the AppleTV, I can see a brief moment of the home screen with my apps, then the LED turns off and the TV goes black. About one time in ten I do this, it stays on and I can actually watch something. Is this a common problem? I'm pretty mad. I'm a long time Directv subscriber and last week at the event Apple said that Directv channels will be able to be accessed within the app. Did they mess up and really mean Directv now or did they mean Directv? | Issue pairing Apple Watch (s3) with Apple TV. Posted: 30 Mar 2019 09:24 AM PDT So Ive found several articles about setting up the remote app after the devices are paired, but for the life of me I can't even get my Apple TV to acknowledge my watch. I can't find any way to add a device. Under General - remote - remote app and devices I see a note that says "to pair a device hold it close to the Apple TV" but my watch has been sitting on top of the Apple TV for a bit and nothing has happened. | I hate the ATV4/K remote with a murderous passion Posted: 30 Mar 2019 04:32 AM PDT I've lost count of the number of times I've gone to select something, and the remote has interpreted my click as a left or right movement along with the click and has selected something I didn't intend to select. I also often press the wrong button because they're too close together. The only thing it has going for it is the volume control. I'm seriously considering buying a used ATV3 remote just so I can have something that doesn't piss me off. [link] [comments]  | ||
