Roterra - Flip The Fairytale is Now Available

Hello everyone! We launched Roterra, a new puzzle adventure game on iOS on Jan 31. I am one of the members of the Roterra team available here to answer any questions you may have about the game. We did a pre-launch at MAGFest as part of the Indie Video Game Showcase in January. The game interestingly includes story inspiration from an epic 16th century Italian poem "Orlando Furioso".

Asphalt 9? Real Racing? I've seen good things about GRID, I'm just afraid it'll be to hard on my battery.

    Strategic RPG/JRPG/SimRPG List

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 05:26 PM PST

I mostly only play ios games while I'm doing other things such as programming, playing other games that have relatively long periods of downtime (LoL, Total War, etc. etc.), or watching a show. I've been looking for a game that can mentally stimulate me during these periods of downtime to keep my brain going so I don't get distracted or lose steam.

This is just a small list that I've started of all the current games that I have found some sort of interest and playability in. Most of them I haven't finished, so it is not a complete critique of the game, but I would like to create a sort of mega thread of games that fall into these categories.

    • Fire Emblem: Heroes (strategic RPG)
      • Decent story, legendary combat style. The gacha system has kinda gotten out of control, but the gameplay is actually still fun and challenging. A top tier pick in this genre no matter what pay-to-excel is introduced.
    • Another Eden (solo RPG/JRPG)
      • Good combat, great story. Haven't fully played through, but it feels amazing in terms of the world design. I enjoy the combat style and it is very reminiscent of Chrono Trigger or Dragon Quest in a way
    • Langrisser (strategic jrpg)
      • Decent story. Fire Emblem-esque combat system. Feels looser than Fire Emblem, but has more engaging character customization and game structure.
    • Chain Strike (turn-based, strategic, chess-like RPG)
      • Decent story. Engaging chess-like combat mechanics. With the new player rewards regarding the gacha system, it doesn't feel like I'm handicapped. It feels as though manual combat is still important to maximize quest rewards efficiency and resources. I enjoy the notifications and graphics and most of the game is visually appealing.
    • Grand Summoners (sim RPG)
      • Fun, challenging story. Mostly simulated, but towards the end of the game, you will actually need to be involved to clear the campaign and be efficient in gathering resources. I like this game because it greatly appeals to my completionist mentality with games. The rewards and structure of the game are very appealing to complete.
    • Dragon Blaze (sim RPG)
      • Sim RPG with good storyline, engaging and fun character customization and class system. Has gone relatively downhill since I started playing it, but it still is entertaining and fun to pass the time. Less engaging now, though, because there is such a huge grind to reach the highest possible endgame position. It's a great grinding game if you aren't looking for a whole lot of immediate engagement.

    Games like Infinity Blade

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 04:02 PM PST

Morning all! I'm currently reading Infinity Blade by Brandon Sanderson and I'm dying to get back into the series except I've played all three. Are there any games like it on the App Store? I don't mind having to pay. I did a quick search here and not much turned up. Animus: Stand Alone seemed to pop up a bit.

You can use single finger to connect letters to form spelling flow or link and solve the puzzle by guessing the word. It is an easy in and out game
