How to make "Raise to Speak" work all the time Posted: 01 Feb 2019 08:20 PM PST Hi everyone, I've seen a lot of people here and on other subreddits talking about how the "Raise to Speak" function (that was introduced in watchOS 5) on Apple Watch is very unreliable. I also agreed with this ... until I figured out how to make Raise to Speak work all the time! Here's how I do it:
That's it! Now it should be very reliable. The key is to raise it to your chin (close to your mouth). That allows it to work – the Raise to Speak feature requires your watch to be closer to your mouth than Hey Siri (which works anytime the screen lights up) does. Hope this helps! EDIT: I have an Apple Watch Series 4, on watchOS 5.1.2. EDIT 2: This article from MacRumors does a good job of discussing what I described: https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/use-siri-raise-to-speak-watchos-5/ [link] [comments]
Use Apple watch to manage music on Mac Posted: 02 Feb 2019 03:05 AM PST Using apple music can you ask siri, through apple watch, to play a song on Mac and not on iPhone? For example, asking siri on apple watch: "Play Daft Punk on my Mac" [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Feb 2019 03:18 AM PST It's a gold Series 1 with the cocoa brown band, and a genuine leather loop. The seller put it up for $99, but if I buy it I'll try to get him down to 80, maybe 70 if I'm lucky. I have a Pebble right now, and I'm mostly looking into buying one as it works better with my iPhone, and for activity tracking since my current watch basically doesn't have any. Is it worth it? Spotify via Bluetooth speaker? Posted: 02 Feb 2019 07:08 AM PST I'm trying to play Spotify on my Bluetooth speaker using my watch and can't. The only way I've been able to get it to work is to connect to the speaker with my phone, play Spotify and select the speaker from my phone and then from my watch control the song. This is not ideal, can anyone help? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Feb 2019 07:42 AM PST My wife and I just bought iPhone XR phones and are now looking at watches. What are the differences and how can I tell what's the best fit for her and I? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Feb 2019 07:21 AM PST I know how this sub loves this app. Am understanding it correctly that you pay the $5 for the app and then have to pay an additional subscription fee to use the watch complication? [link] [comments]
Feb challenge is killing me... Posted: 01 Feb 2019 02:56 PM PST So, my challenge this month is to complete 2380 minutes of exercise which is about 84 mins per day... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Am I supposed to do anything else in my life? I can't take any rest days or i'm done, and most days i work out for about 60-75 mins so I'm wondering how the hell it's coming up with this challenge. Last month it was 151km which was a little bit of a push only cuz my ankle was kinda messed up, but I made it. Is there a way to change or challenge the challenge? :( [link] [comments]
Smudge marks on newly applied screen protector Posted: 02 Feb 2019 07:52 AM PST I applied the Armorsuit screen protector about an hour ago and very impressed with how it looks when the screen is off, but there are quite noticeable smudges (making images and colours look pixelated). Is this due to it still being wet between the screen and protector and will disappear over time, or is this something that happens with these screen protectors? [link] [comments]
Irregular heart rythm outside US? Posted: 02 Feb 2019 07:28 AM PST I got a prompt to enable irregular heart rythm under the Watch app->Heart. It opened the Health app and it told me it's unavailable in my country. Is there something I can do? I assumed it was on by default. [link] [comments]

Is it possible to still get notifications on my watch when in do not disturb? Posted: 02 Feb 2019 06:56 AM PST I just got a Series 2, running the latest version of watchOS. My question is whether I can get notifications to still show up on my watch while it is in do not disturb? I don't want to be tapped, but I'd like to see them in the notification shade. Currently it will just say no notifications but meanwhile my phone displays a bunch of new ones. [link] [comments]
Series 2 started charging slow and Digital Crown inresponsive Posted: 02 Feb 2019 06:45 AM PST I've had the series 2 Apple Watch for about 2 years now and out of the blue, the Digital Crown became unresponsive and not too long after it takes almost a week in a half to get fully charged. Is there anyone that has had the same issue and know what you can do about it? I took it to the apple store and they said if they fixed it it would be $250 which isn't even worth it at this point. To explain the Digital Crown issues more, whenever you touch it it doesn't respond but the screen is constantly jumping up and down if you can scroll. [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Feb 2019 08:37 AM PST I was inordinately proud to get a perfect month in January - especially after I missed December by one day. But my February challenge is 58 minutes of exercise a day! I didn't realize Apple Watch was that much of a gym rat. [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Feb 2019 12:35 PM PST Hey guys, just thought about a feature that I really want Apple to implement - being able to download a song to the Apple Watch, straight from the music app from on my iPhone. The same way to save a song on the iPhone [link] [comments]

do you keep your steps in health app from both iphone and apple watch Posted: 01 Feb 2019 11:27 PM PST it seems like when i started to use apple watch to track my activity data were being merged from both watch and phone thus making it approx double. how do you use it? update: or maybe possibly not entirely doubled, but calculated using average or some other algorithm. i spotted this when looking at activity app and health. and almost every time they differ. Posted: 01 Feb 2019 07:20 PM PST I got one of those knock-off, $11 watch bands at Amazon. Really not bad at all. I got it for wearing to the gym and was wondering if these could be washed, say on a delicate cycle in one of those mesh bag one uses for delicates or by hand in the sink. Anyone tried this? Thanks, [link] [comments]
LOVE YOUR APPLE WATCH? DO NOT BUY THIS CHARGER. Posted: 01 Feb 2019 10:52 PM PST If you love your Apple Watch like I have loved mine for the past few years, don't buy this (the name for the charger on Amazon): VEPOWER 4336794523 Magnetic Wireless Portable Charger Pad 3.Ft/1.0M Charging Cable Cord Compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 3 2 1 All 38mm 40mm 42mm 44mm, white011 Because it will melt your watch. Back story: bought it as a second charger to have at work. Never had any problems with my Sport until now. But now my expensive little bb is destroyed. Face plate is hanging on by the wire. Before you try and post a smartass comment: yes, I was trying to be frugal. No, it did not sit for more than two hours. Yes, I have asked for a refund. Yes, it still "works" but trying to use it is useless since it seems to not recognize that I am touching it except for to wake it up. [link] [comments] |
