[TIP] You can deactivate any alarm by covering the watch's screen: Even the ones from your iPhone. Posted: 23 Feb 2019 06:03 AM PST I always forgot to post this, but I didn't see it addressed in this subreddit as of yet. Everybody knows you can deactivate an alarm on the apple watch when it goes off by simply covering the screen for two seconds. But once I just instinctively tried to do the same while in bed when my iPhone's alarm went off (not the one on the watch) and it worked the same way. Try it: set an alarm on your iPhone in one minute, and when it goes off, cover your watch's screen with the palm of your hand. Feels good. [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Feb 2019 06:01 AM PST According to the instructions here: https://support.apple.com/guide/watch/get-directions-apdea7480950/watchos You can ask Siri "How long will it take me to get home?" When I do so, Siri returns, "I don't know your home address." From where does Siri pull one's home address? It has access to my Contact's list which contains my home address. Apple Maps has my home address saved as a favorite. Anyone know how to fix this? Would be great to get an estimate of long it would take each weekday to get to work and to get home. Thanks. ADT Pulse just released their WatchOS app! Posted: 23 Feb 2019 05:12 AM PST Hey all, As I'm sure many others here have noticed, there are some apps that are only available for the phone, and would be very useful to have on the watch. IMHO, the "missing" app that I've long said was most noticable for me was the ADT Pulse app. Well, great news, ADT just released their WatchOS app yesterday! I've only had a few hours of time to use it, but so far, it's been very nice! You can use the crown to control dimmer brightness, and the UI is well optimized for the watch, making it, IMHO, easier to use than the iPhone app. Also, since the watch has wrist detection, it means that you can stay logged in without having to use touch id/face id (which slows down the experience of the Phone app annoyingly) Just sharing it since I suspect some others here might benefit from installing this app. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Feb 2019 07:12 AM PST Is this normal after a few months of use? Dial started sticking. Not much, just I think I remember it turning smoothly at first. Now I have to give it some pressure to get it going. Sticks at first but once it's moving it's smooth. Tried finding with cool water like apple website said. Spins perfectly under water. Don't know if it's enough of an issue to get fixed. But also don't want it to get a lot worse. [link] [comments]

Minor feature idea: charged notifixa Posted: 23 Feb 2019 06:38 AM PST I know there are a few things Apple could do around their devices' batteries (like let you see your phone's battery life on the watch, or have all battery statuses listed on all devices) but I'd love to see them allow you to turn on a 'watch charged' notification. I leave mine on at night to monitor my sleep, so have to charge it during the day... and a lot of the time I forget it's charging and miss an hour or two of activity as a result. It's not the end of the world but would be great if I could get a little push on the phone or iPad to tell me it's hit 100% [link] [comments]
Apple Watch stop counting pool lap Posted: 23 Feb 2019 06:17 AM PST Hi, I have an Apple Watch series 4 and Today morning I was training anda I realize it didn't count may lap in real time. It always shown Zero laps, zero meters. It only show me on the summary when I stop it. But last month it counted my laps and meters in real time. Som update bug, did I mess something in the options? Problem with playback on AW4 with Escape Audio Pods Posted: 23 Feb 2019 05:37 AM PST Setup: AW4, music on internal storage, freshly charged Escape Audio pods bluetooth headphones (brand new) So I play music on my AW4 through the headphones. When the playback gets interrupted - by a call, me using Siri etc. the playback stops naturally. I can't get it to resume without shutting the headphones off and on again thus reconnecting. The playback button shows it's playing, even changing the track or the volume will not do anything. Pushing the start/stop button in the headphones will not work either, I have to reconnect them. The headphones do show up as connected in bluetooth settings though. Has anyone else experienced this? [link] [comments]
How to get more accurate calorie readings? Posted: 23 Feb 2019 05:30 AM PST So today I did two classes in my Crossfit box and my AW 4 tells me I burned more than 1.600kcal. That has to be wildly inaccurate, I am pretty sure I did not even burn half of that. I use the „HIIT" workout mode when doing Crossfit, is this where I go wrong? I don't care too much about these numbers as I only like to keep track of my heartrate (I use it as an indicator to see if I still have something left in the tank when I feel exhausted), but still, how do es my watch come up with these outrageous numbers? Is anyone's burned calorie count even remotely realistic or is this just a worthless feel good function? [link] [comments]
Apple Watch questionnaire on complications and watch faces Posted: 23 Feb 2019 01:34 AM PST Hello /r/AppleWatch ! I'm a designer from an independent design collective, and we're currently working on some new things for Watch OS. Part of the research phase is to gather data about Apple Watch usage and it would help us out a lot if you could fill in this 5 minute questionnaire. It will go a long way in giving us impressions about all you diverse Apple Watch users, and the types of complications you find most useful. Here's the link: https://goo.gl/forms/5GEdxEoC5E0PoVdw1 Feel free to share this with any other AW owners in the wild, that would be amazing help. Thank you so much for your time and we hope to hear your opinion soon! [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Feb 2019 09:58 PM PST This just started recently. I've tried turning Sir off/on on both iPhone and Watch, restarting both devices, un-pairing Apple Watch and then setting up as new device, erase and factory reset Watch. No improvement. Siri works fine on my phone, but doesn't work at all on my watch. I can activate Siri by pressing in the crown or by tapping on the complication, Siri will launch, say it's listening, then just say 'Hold on' but never actually does anything. Sir doesn't launch by saying 'Hey Siri' or by raising my wrist even though both options are selected. Any help? [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Feb 2019 03:29 AM PST When I press the crown on my watch on the watch face, nothing happens. The button is not broken, though. I can use it to exit complication apps and notification and control center. The same applies to the side button, which does nothing when being pressed. This is also the reason I can't just restart the watch. I have no idea what could cause this. The only thing I've recently changed on the watch, is the side of the crown setting. Please help. Posted: 22 Feb 2019 05:22 PM PST I looked up resale prices on Swapp for the SS 3 and it's only $100 more than a GPS/LTE aluminum 3. I've also read that they are way more prone to visible scratches. I had an android watch with a sapphire screen and it never even got a hair scratch in the years I had it, so I'm mainly interested in the quality of the screen but for $900 with AppleCare+, is it worth it? I don't see why I would want to upgrade to the 5 or whatever but if I did, resale value would matter so that's something I'm considering. I could replace my aluminum 4 twice and still have paid less than the SS. Any thoughts or feedback is appreciated. [link] [comments]
Can I connect to wifi even if I don’t have my phone nearby? Posted: 23 Feb 2019 02:17 AM PST I bought the watch specifically to get rid of my phone once in a while. I also want to know if I can listen to music both from spotify and apple music without my phone? [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Feb 2019 02:01 AM PST Title. So yeah, I have a bracelet strap that I got from a series 0 that I got cheap, gave the watch away because of how slow it was but kept the strap. I see the new models are different sizes, so what model is this strap compatible with? Thanks [link] [comments] |
