Apple TV needs to catch up to streaming services like Netflix Posted: 24 Feb 2019 12:20 AM PST I like my Apple TV a great deal. But watching a TV series I purchased through iTunes is such a pain compared to something like Netflix.
And that's just off the top of my head. It's surprising how far behind Apple is given they usually excel when it comes to the user interface. Hopefully the next big OS update addresses some of these. [link] [comments]

Apple TV 4K behavior when Atmos is ON but source is DD+ Posted: 23 Feb 2019 08:03 AM PST I have turned on Dolby Atmos, my Soundbar detects atmos content when played from iTunes or Vudu. But when non atmos Dolby Digital Plus content is played Soundbar sees LPCM instead of DD+. From other sources such as TV, Soundbar properly recognizes Dolby Digital Plus. Why isn't Apple TV 4K properly sending non atmos signals when Dolby Atmos is turned on? My Soundbar is Vizio SB36512-F6, I'm seeing similar reports from the owners of LG SK10Y. Anyone else to corroborate? [link] [comments]
Free Airplay to Apple TV 2 from OSX Posted: 23 Feb 2019 12:34 PM PST Hi, I'm wondering if there's anything like Beamer but free? I've used SodaPlayer with good success in the past, but unfortunately it won't send a particular type of MKV - it just has a blank screen with a spinning circle. Beamer and Airflow both work perfectly, but they're also quite pricey for something I'll need for a couple of days and then never use again (usually we only ever watch Amazon, iPlayer and Netflix) Should I just bite the bullet, convert the files to MP4 and use iTunes? Thanks [link] [comments]
connecting Google Home to Apple TV 3rd Gen Posted: 23 Feb 2019 10:46 AM PST Is this possible? As of now, my TV will not recognize the Google Home. I know I've seen it on the 4th Gen, but wasn't sure about 3rd. [link] [comments]
Need help with the Apple TV hdr settings Posted: 23 Feb 2019 04:46 AM PST I've been having problems with the settings. I turned on hdr and it looked Awful, the brightness kept changing so I turned it back to sdr. I turned on match dynamic range so it would turn hdr on when needed but all it did was turn the movie quality dull and less detailed. Could use some help. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Feb 2019 10:43 AM PST I have noticed since PS tv service is native that a lot of things are showing up in that as the default service. Is there any way to get the tv app to default to a different service. For example, spring training game is on, but when I click it, tells me I need to subscribe to PS. I'm an mlb subscriber so I can watch through at bat. But it's not giving me the option to jump over. I know it's a nitpicky thing, but i can't seem to determine how to switch it [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Feb 2019 08:16 AM PST Is there anyway to get rid of the New Release ads at the top of my Apple TV? I'm kinda tired of being advertised to every time I turn on my tv. [link] [comments] |
