| Posted: 12 Jan 2019 11:22 PM PST sorry i don't know what sub to post in for this question first off i just want to point out that i am skeptical about this whole thing. My friend told me that she had a horrific encounter with Siri after around 3am ("devil's hour"). She told me she booted up Siri just randomly to talk to it but as she was speaking Siri was typing out things she wasn't saying and not just words but whole sentences. she gave an example: "hello how are you i see you" Then she said Siri showed her an image of Carrie with all the pigs blood on her, and that's when she turned off her phone. So, is there an actual explanation for what happened here? i asked her for proof because i had a hard time believing any of it, but she had none she was too "scared" to screenshot in the moment. | Posted: 12 Jan 2019 10:39 PM PST Ever since the new update safari no longer has private browsing and I can no longer delete my history. I tried the online tips that say it's a restriction problem (in which you go to settings and change your restriction for websites to unrestricted access) but it doesn't work for me. I have screen time and other settings set up is that related? Any tips? I have a iPhone 8 and the problem started with the update that included screen time. I have iOS 12.1.2 [link] [comments]  |
| Dropped my iPhone and the camera won't work even after a reset AND a camera replacement Posted: 12 Jan 2019 02:02 PM PST I dropped my iPhone and the back camera stopped working. I went to my local place to fix it and they tried several times to fix it. They replaced the camera and it wouldn't work. They backed up and reset it. When they opened the camera upon fresh install, it still wouldn't work. So it cannot be a software issue. In terms of hardware, they checked the circuits and everything looked fine. They told me that the camera is definitely bad because putting it onto another iPhone would cause a black screen when trying to take a photo. However, a new camera lens on my iPhone wouldn't work either. To sum it up:

| App links not launching apps after restore Posted: 12 Jan 2019 01:42 PM PST I just had to replace my iPhone X due to damage. Prior to getting the replacement I made a new iTunes backup on my MBP. After restoring the backup on the new phone, some links, which prior to the replacement would launch certain app, no longer launch those apps. For example, Progressive texted me a link to submit some photos. Normally it would take a me to the appropriate screen in the Progressive app. Now it just takes me to the Progressive app in the App Store even though it knows it's installed because it says OPEN instead of the download button. Another critical app I use dozens of times each day for jobs no longer launches when I click email links. Instead it just takes me to their webpage. I have reinstalled the apps as well. I spent an hour on the phone with an Apple Care senior advisor but they could not figure it out. Strangely, some emailed links flood launch the app, such as Twitter. | Speech to text not working while connected to car via Bluetooth Posted: 12 Jan 2019 08:39 AM PST Speech to text works fine on my iPhone when I am not connected to my car via Bluetooth. However, once I connect to My car after pressing the speech to text button in the messaging app it appears that the microphone is not receiving any input when I speak. What is more strange is that when using the voice memo app there are no problems receiving sound input while connected to my cars Bluetooth. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? | Posted: 12 Jan 2019 01:54 AM PST This has been an ongoing issue. I'll plug my phone in to the charger, but it won't charge. I have to flip the actual micro USB connector to a certain side for it to respond to charging at all, and even then, it will only charge at a certain angle, so I'd have to be holding it carefully in place, without moving a muscle all night for it to charge overnight, which is ridiculous. It's gotten to the point tonight that it refuses to charge FOR MORE THAN LITERALLY A SECOND. I'm getting the "accessory may not be supported" pop up whenever I try. Yes, it's an iPhone charger, and yes, its totally fine because it works perfectly with my iPod touch. I've gone through so many chargers because of this issue. The new chargers work for a short time, before becoming useless and I run into this problem again. My phone is currently at 15% and refuses to charge. I'm extremely frustrated. I'm really at the end of my rope here with this phone. For context, I have an iPhone 7, if that matters. Please, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated [link] [comments]  |
| My iPhone videos have this weird buzzing sound Posted: 12 Jan 2019 05:26 AM PST So I bought a used iPhone and at first it worked well but after a month or two I noticed that suddenly (I didn't damage my phone in any way that would cause the issue) when I would record a video in a quiet place there would be this weird static buzzing sound but when I'd record a video in a normal location with sound (street, any public place literally) the quiet buzzing would be gone. The most frustrating thing is that whenever I record a video with the front camera I always get unusable audio. Interestingly, when I record with the snapchat app, both the front and back camera have no audio problems yet on instagram story the buzzing continues on both cameras even on the back camera when the environment I am in isn't quiet. Does anyone have the same issue? I've searched the whole internet yet found nothing. Sorry for my bad english by the way. | Posted: 12 Jan 2019 05:19 AM PST Hi all, I've recently upgraded from an IPhone 6s to an IPhone 8 when I did it was the standard transfer, I've done this numerous times without an issue. And when the transfer was complete I was ready to go, however today I've realised that the 'Touch ID & Passcode' settings are missing? I am hesitant to factory reset as I don't have a reliable internet connection for the next couple of weeks. When I saw this I checked the IOS version, they are the same as my friends phone.
