Anybody else rocking that clean home screen look

I still get surprised by how thin the new iPad Pro feels/looks.

    Posted: 18 Jan 2019 11:21 PM PST

I can't be the only one where while using it I'll be suddenly noticing on how thin the iPad actually is. It's crazy what the Pro is capable of especially in such a thin device.

Does Chrome render at 120hz on an iPad with a Pro Motion display?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 04:16 AM PST

Hi reddit! I was just wondering if Chrome renders at the same frame rate as Safari on an iPad pro with a Pro Motion 120hz display. I noticed when using my friend's 10.5 pro that safari seemed to be snappier and smoother.

I have some thoughts as to why this may be, Safari being a native app and all I could see that getting some special love. Perhaps it's just how Safari handles their animations compared to Chrome?

Thanks for letting me pick your brain.

Anybody in the UK use an Apple pencil 2?

I've got a spare slickwraps skin for it. I don't need it since I've already got one on mine. It's free to a good home if someone PMs me their address.

Goodnotes 5 - how to show more colors & other cons

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 06:06 AM PST

I recently upgraded from Goodnotes 4 to 5. I really like the new UI of 5 and writing feels a bit smoother, vertical scrolling is amazing. However I do have a few complaints and would appreciate it if someone has found a fix for them

Is there a way to make the thumbnails appear larger like they did in Goodnotes 4? I have 800+ page books and 100 page class notes and sometimes I want to be able to tell what page I'm navigating to by reading the content when looking at the thumbnail

As far as favorites "booksmarks" are concerned is there a way to title them/name them? My only solution now is to write in big letters the title on top of the page I favorite which is okay..... for now

Unrelated - but does anyone know how to create outlines for a PDF on a Windows/Mac machine? Like If I have a 50 page document how can I make it so that when I import it into Goodnotes I can see outlines by section

How do you sync Goodnotes 5 to OneDrive?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 08:33 AM PST

I have 1TB OneDrive storage from my school and I used that to automatically sync my Goodnotes 4 Library (~6gb) I do not pay for iCloud storage.

I seem to be unable to find an option to sync goodnotes 5 to OneDrive or any other cloud storage besides iCloud. There's an "export" option but that's just for the current document you're on and it's not automatic.

Edit: Will continue using GN4 until autosync is enabled in GN5

GoodNotes 5 is out now : Switch from Notability?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 03:16 AM PST

I'm definitely considering about switching from Notability. Pretty much 80% of the cons of GoodNotes that Notability has is now gone. Maybe after the lecture I'm currently studying, I'll switch. Is there anyone out there thinking about this too? Comments would be appreciated.

Soooooooo.... bend is normal. Do you accept yours?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 12:30 PM PST

Seeing I'll get my third this Monday. I'm assuming it'll be bent on the bottom and top like the other two.

Looking on macrumors it looks like people have exchanged theirs 3-4 times with all bends in them.

Does yours bend? Are you okay with it bending? Are you concerned that Apple won't cover it, if internally it blows up but outside is bent and denies it?

I'm starting to realize even if I exchange 50 of them, all are going to be alike.

So this who have it why did you keep it with the bend?

App Suggestion for PDFs that is also compatible with Adobe Acrobat on the Desktop

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 12:18 PM PST

Hey guys, I read and take notes on a lot of PDFs for work. I am currently using a combination of Flexcil and Adobe Acrobat but I was hoping I could get some suggestions to improve my workflow.

I am perfectly fine with Flexcil because its extremly smooth for what I am doing. I can make and edit hand written notes pretty easily and make my highlights. I really like the gesture features considering that Flexcil adds all my highlights in the annotations list with labels so I can back later and skim through all my highlights wihtout having to scroll through the entire document again.

I run into issues when I want to open the same doument on the computer using Adobe Acrobat. All my highlihgts and handwritten notes carry over but the annotations list doesnt which means I have to scroll through the entire document to find what I need. This isn't ideal because alot of the PDFs are a few hundred pages long.

Is there an App that would allow me to do what I need while being compatible with Adobe Acrobat on the desktop (bringing over an annotations list so I can jump through my highlights quickly)? I do use the ipad version ofAcrobat but its extremely clunky and really annoying to use compared to Flexcil; my entire workflow slows down considerably.

I havent used PDF Expert but I see its highly rated, would this allow me to do what I need?

    thanks.

    2018 9.7, case?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 05:54 AM PST

I'm sure this is an ad nauseum question, but I'm pretty particular. I love Spigen for my iPhones, and have used them for the last, well, all of my iphones. Need back protection, need to be able to stand it up. I will be getting either the Logitech or apple external keyboard, so just a regular case is perfect.

Thanks all! Got so much help here already!

Do you think the 2019 iPad releasing in March have apple pencil 2 support?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2019 09:45 PM PST

My one drawback of getting a 2018 iPad is the pencil (I will be using it as an on the go device and for drawing). The iPad pro has the magnetic clip, but it's too expensive for what I need. The iPad doesn't have the magnet and wireless charging, so it looks kinda stupid stuck into the iPad to charge. I'm probably going to wait anyway but what do you think?

    iPad Pro battery

    Posted: 18 Jan 2019 03:28 PM PST

    Hi everyone,

I got my iPad Pro today and I am absolutely thrilled! I am loving it. I got the 11" WiFi 64 GB. However, I feel like the battery is falling quicker than it should. Can someone tell me what battery life I should expect from, given it works normally?

    Thank you.
